After Tambry had expressed that she wanted to go to Hogsmeade with Kavi and clarified that she meant as a date, the teen had gone to his brother for advice. Vikram was pretty popular and had definitely been on dates before, so he would know what to do. Instead, Vik has told him to "be himself" and "act normal". What the heck did that mean? Since Vikram had been no help, Kavi had gone to the library to look up what to do on a normal date, but there wasn't a "Dating for Dummies" book he could look through. And since their date was only the next day, he didn't have time to look for any other opinions. He would try "being himself", whatever that meant. What was he supposed to talk about? Football? Video games? Maybe Quidditch... And what was normal? Usually they just talked about classes and clubs and stuff. But on a date, weren't you supposed to talk about something else? Kavi had stressed about that all night.

When morning came, he got dressed in fancier clothing than he normally wore during the day. Since it was a date, he needed to dress fancy, right? They had decided to meet up at the Italian place for lunch, then they were going to wander the village together. Kavi had been nervous about disappointing Tambry that he'd skipped breakfast. He had tried to find Vikram again to get more pointers for the date, but his brother was a ghost this morning. So he'd headed down to the village and made his way to the little Italian place. He had gotten there first, so he waited around outside, fiddling with his watch and shifting nervously.

Kavi waved when Tambry approached and offered her a small, shy smile. He was really new to the whole idea of dating and the thought that someone had a crush on him. He was just this shy awkward boy living in his outgoing brother's shadow, yet someone had a crush on him. It was wild. The teen grinned back at her when she quipped that he walked faster than her. He nodded and held open the door for her when she asked if he was ready. A smirk crept onto his face when she said she'd pay. She didn't have to since Kavi had brought his money with him, but if she insisted, he would let her. He could cover their sweets and any other expenses. Also maybe dessert if they decided they wanted something later. Tambry led them to a table and Kavi pulled out her seat for her, then pushed her in once she sat down. His mother always said it was polite to push in a lady's chair. Once he seated himself, Kavi looked over the menu. When Tambry asked if he knew what he wanted, Kavi shrugged a little and said, "Everything does look pretty good, but I have to avoid anything with beef or cow products in it." He wasn't sure if his religion had ever come up in conversation with her before, but he was Hindu and they revered the cow, so no beef. "I wonder what their sausage in made of. If it's all pork, or pork and chicken... that would be awesome." He looked up from the menu and smiled at Tambry. Something about her made his tummy feel fluttery.

Looking up from the menu when she asked if it was an allergy, Kavi realized they actually hadn't had the conversation about his religion. It wasn't something he talked about a lot, since religion never really came up much amongst the students. But if they were going to date, Kavi supposed it was important information for her to know. "Oh, um, no. It's... Well, I'm Hindu and we... er... revere cows? I guess that's the best way to explain it. We don't eat any products that come from cows. Except milk, cause you don't have to hurt the cow for that. And cheese. And, er... butter too. Jeez, am I rambling?" He chuckled nervously and scratched the back of his head. He wasn't usually one to talk all that much and here he was babbling like a little child. But something about being out with Tambry made him just... feel comfortable enough to talk. "I think... uh... I'm gonna get a couple pizza slices. Gotta try the pizza here. See how it compares to the fancy pizza in Milan." He nodded and smiled, setting the menu down on the table. Kavi was having a good time out with Tambry, even though they just got here. He did really like spending time with her, maybe that meant that he fancied her the same way that she liked him. But he'd never experienced this feeling before, so he really wanted to talk to someone who had. Vikram probably wouldn't help him, since he'd been pretty useless thus far, but he had an idea about who to talk to.
