Occupation: Mayet Tiny Builders Society - Works in construction building tiny houses as his full-time job. He's not the owner, but works with a small team of three. The owner is in his 40s and helps with all aspects. The other company member deals with sales and helps with the interior design portion. Part time volunteer fire fighter as well.
Hobbies:
- Mixology -- Slipping on a leather apron after work, putting on a record, cracking open the liquor cabinet, and mixing the latest drink from a magazine or blog brings him a sense of calm and peace. He loves trying new recipes, but anything with a gin or vodka base are his favorites. He's prefers earthier and refreshing drinks to something sweet and fruity.
Hiker -- Although Barnett has never been very athletic in terms of sports or conventionality, between helping construct tiny houses, volunteer firefighting, and hiking he keeps in a good shape. He loves getting out into nature and exploring after turning off his cell phone. He's known to disappear for a couple hours on weekends before reappearing again later. Something about the wind through the trees and dirt at his feet.
Record Collector -- Although he missed the big record hype, as its come back around he's been really into it. He doesn't have that many classics, and mostly prefers collecting modern movie soundtracks, lofi, and recent artist re-releases.
Pros:
- There's no need to lie if you always tell the truth Earnest -- You won't ever have to worry he's not telling you the truth, because he only speaks what he knows, and that's his own truth.
He wears his heart on his sleeve Sensitive -- He's a sucker for a sweet and small moment, but he's awful at hiding his emotions, and by that they're always written all over his face.
Bringing a smile to your face will make my day Wholesome -- I just want to brighten your day. His phone background is rubber duck, sh don't tell anyone.
He will believe in you Cheerleader -- Even if you don't believe in yourself, he'll believe in you. Need some words of encouragement? He's your man! He followed his dreams and you should too.
Cons:
- Defender of Justice type White Knight -- If he sees something wrong he often butts in, which often means he gets punched for it. He can't not look and let something happen. This also means that he tends to get into fights, but he never does say who started those fights.
Often I just say the wrong things Socially Awkward -- Sometimes life is easier just talking to birds or mixing drinks. Interacting with others is hard and sometimes he just says the wrong thing. A lot of the times he just keeps his mouth shut.
Oh, did we make plans Sunday? Scatter-brained and Spacy -- He is terrible about keeping track of his own schedule. Occasionally he spaces off in conversation too.
What are emotions? Alexithymia -- Talking about emotions makes him nervous, trip over his words, sweat profusely, and cause huge blush marks all over his face and up to his ears.
General Appearance
Barnett is not a small man, standing around 5' 10" most people think he should be playing on a football team. He has a full red head that he often ties back into a man bun and a beard, plus curly arm hair and is covered in freckles. The rosacea doesn't help either.
He loves dad jokes, although he often tells them wrong, and has a deep belly laugh.
He can often be found wearing plaid and denim overalls. He has a specialty leather apron for when he mixes drinks, and that's when he gets extra serious.
