- Singing -- Something she picked up... some where, she isn't sure where, it seems more habit then hobby. Sonata loves to sing and she'll sing just about anything as long as she knows the words. Actually, let's be real. She doesn't even need to know the words and she'll attempt to sing along. Even at the frustration of others because she doesn't seem to get the lyrics right the first, second, or even fifth time. She really has to continuously read the lyrics before they stick.
And she's not afraid to sing in feline form either. She actually has fun singing like an actual cat and has mastered the form of 'dodging shoes and alarm clocks'. If she really doesn't like you she'll sing everything she says in reply to a person. Unless you're the kind of friend who loves to having singing conversations. No hesitations there.
Chinese Calligraphy -- A hobby of hers she picked up from a brief stay at a shrine, Sonata has found love in Chinese Calligraphy. There's something calming about making one's own ink and writing with it. She's come a long way since her first start, though most of it is really just incoherent babble as far as English language goes, as she can read it but writing it is a whole other thing. It hasn't stopped her yet though!
Attempting this hobby in cat form is a little more difficult but it doesn't stop her. She doesn't have much problems making her ink, the difficulty is more in the writing. But be prepared for inky kitty prints appearing every where when she's done! She hasn't quite mastered the art of washing up afterwards yet.
Like a Fish to Water -- Despite being a cat, Sonata loves water. Swimming, bathing, letting it just run over her as it drips from the faucet... When not doing guardian cat things or even snuggling with her family, she is often trying to find a place to access water. She loves taking trips to the beach or the pool, though the pool is infinitely better.
Pros:
- We are all friends here... Keeper of the Peace -- Nothing means more to Sonata then peace. A self proclaimed Keeper of the Peace, Sonata does her best to maintain tranquility. She'll play mediator between others where situations alloy or she'll separate the two parties and calm them down until they can speak to each other again.
Of course shes aware that not everyone wants to keep the peace, or is willing to allow someone to play the mediator. And that's fine, but that doesn't mean she won't try.
The only thing softer then my paws is my voice... Soft Spoken/Gentle -- That said Sonata speaks in soft tones and gentle words, always polite. There is never a bad thing to be said about another either, preferring to say nothing if there is nothing nice to be said. She even makes sure her touches are soft, claws always put away where no one could be hurt. Raising her voice is always a last resort.
To the victor goes the spoils Giving -- Though she has no money or any means to actually spoil people, Sonata loves to give gifts and spoil people. Mostly it's done with bringing people gifts of string, feathers, other miscellaneous things she finds. She also likes to give gifts of her Chinese calligraphy, which she makes specifically for them, though no one knows what they say.
She has a very loving heart and just wants to give people gifts to show that she cares, even if they're strangers!
Cons:
- We aren't just talking about my fur either... Softhearted -- Sonata is as soft as they come, even to the point of getting herself into trouble. A cat that loves to help, she's a sucker for a person in need. She can't stand to see someone in trouble or suffering and has a propensity for rushing to their aid even if it could be a trap. She isn't inclined to think of situations in which someone could need help as the possibility of a trap.
What if I get sent back to Mau Kindergarten?! Perfectionist -- A cat with high standards Sonata is used to having things a certain way. Perfect. Perfection in her home, in her abilities as a guardian cat... She's rather hard on herself to make sure everything she says and does in her life falls within that level of perfection she expects of herself.
So much so that she actually doesn't handle it well if she doesn't meet that level of perfection. She tends to stress out and is very hard on herself, often berating herself or working herself twice as hard to get back on track. Depending on the stress she often tends to over-groom herself in an effort to calm down so she can get back on track as well.
Please, don't leave me... Insecure -- Caring she may be, but insecurity is really the driving force behind her actions. Abandoned a couple times in her life, Sonata often finds herself wondering if it was her fault that it happened. Had she done something wrong to make these humans who had once loved her leave her behind? Will she continue to do things that will make others no longer love her? She doesn't know and is fearful that it will happen again when she wants nothing more then to have a family that will love her, so she does her best to spoil people and show she cares in hopes they won't leave her as those before have.
