Paloma, a relative newcomer to Sparks Hollow, had found it to be more than welcoming. She was beginning to find her place here--she'd made a home for herself and Jeanette Isabella and was starting to suss out how she could contribute to the community. For now she'd taken on the role of a gatherer, as she didn't really have any more specialized skills. Paloma already couldn't believe how long they'd lived in isolation, in the forest, when civilization and friends were right here.
Returning from a trip into the woods (familiar as she was with them) to gather herbs, fruits, and other edible plants, she noticed someone she'd never seen before. A beautiful Faun with delicate wings and a fancy updo. Fascinated, and unable to pass up the chance for a new friend (and more than a little attracted), Paloma tucked her basket into her elbow and approached the other femme.
"Good morning!" she said cheerfully. "I haven't seen you around here before. Are you also new? I'm new here myself so I still haven't met everyone. I'm Paloma."

Ahhhh, it had been so long since she'd been home! Sea Holly had honestly lost track of it by this point - she was so busied exploring and exploring and EXPLORING the vast aquatic cave system in her new residence of Montagne that she hadn't had the time to think about family.
Okay, that was just a poor excuse, but she couldn't help herself! It had all been so very interesting!
But the time had come for her to return to her roots and pay her mothers a visit... they'd been quite insistent that she do so sooner than later, as evidenced by the language they'd used in their last few letters. She'd have to try and placate them with stories most likely. Maybe a gift? She hadn't exactly thought to buy one before leaving though... Hmm... She could just pick something up on the way over then?
A voice brought her out of her musings as her fauny ear flicked towards it, only to find an absolutely darling fey. Call it a home-bred preference, but she was quite the sight for sore eyes compared to all those muscleheads up in the mountains. Yes. These subtle features were much better. Running a hand through her bouncy bangs, she was immediately glad she'd gone through the trouble of stopping by StarGrove to freshen up on the way back. "G'morning to you too! I'm glad you seem to be liking it here." She smiled as she returned her cheerfulness with some herself - ah... yes... this was just warming up her cold, mountain-frostbitten heart... "Ahhh.... actually, despite looking like... well... this..." she paused to motion at her faunyness, "I'm from here. My name's Sea Holly, but most fae just call me Holly. Nice to meet you Palie!" She cut straight to the chase with a cute, shorter nickname without an consideration. "Oh, you might have met my mothers - Rosalia and Tempest - or my brother - Iris Tides? I think we're the only fauny in the region... Or at least we used to be."

Paloma shifted her basket to her hip with a small chuckle. "How embarrassing for me, I don't think I've met any of them!" It had been an interesting time, settling in and trying to become part of an already scintillating community. It had been just her and Jeanette Isabella for so long, that despite craving and adoring the company of others, Paloma just hadn't been used to it.
She was falling into it more easily by now. "I'm glad we've run into each other, though. It's always a good day when I've made a new friend. It's great to meet you, Holly. What brings you back home?"Daisicle sorry for the short post, trying to get back into paloma's brain lol

Sea Holly tilted her head ever-so-slightly, surprised that her family had not caught this fey's attention. There really must have been quite a few new faun in this neck-of-the-woods for them to have stuck out so little. That or her family was being reclusive recently... which didn't seem all that in-character, to be honest. "No worries! Maybe you'll run into them at some point, just like you just did with me!" She was curious to see just how much her homevillage had grown while she'd been gone.
"I'm just visiting the parents, simple as that... though now I might go on a bout of touring to see how things have changed. Maybe find some new cafes or stores or the like." Yes, that'd be fun.

Paloma chuckled and nodded. "Perhaps I will. And I'll be sure to keep an eye out now," she added with a smile.
She sensed that Holly was trying to wrap up this conversation, but Paloma truthfully wasn't ready to be finished. She liked Holly and didn't want her to go yet. However, she was working on being less self-absorbed. Quickly she thought of a plan. "Well, I won't keep you," she said, "but if you're looking for some company I'd be glad to come along. I'd love to hear about how things have changed, especially as I've only been here so recently. Let me just tuck this basket away." She lifted her basket for emphasis. "My home's just there," she said and pointed to it.

That was great to hear! While her parents didn't really need any help making friends, there was no reason they couldn't have more. If anything, they were just the sort of friendlies that would be perfect to help someone new into the area.
She'd intended to go looking around after meeting the parental units, but if the situation presented itself...
It could be so fun! She just couldn't resist!
"Oh sure! Wasn't my plan, but sounds interesting." Her gaze followed over to the cute-looking house and she offered a thumbs up. "You'll have to show me the way - I bet at this point you know more about this place than I do." Her parents would just have to wait until later.

After Paloma put her basket away and told Jeanette Isabella where she was going, she and Sea Holly walked together and chatted about the old and the new. Paloma met Rosalia and Tempest, and the four of them spent a pleasant afternoon together. When it was time for her to depart, Sea Holly walked Paloma home. For her part, Paloma felt buoyed by having made some new friends. It was difficult, after living alone for so long, but that was why they'd come here, wasn't it?
"Thanks for letting me come along today," said Paloma when they reached her home. "If you're ever in town again, I'd love to do it again!" she finished cheerfully.
