Nature: Neutral Good.

Personality: Mili may be small, but there’s a lot packed into her. Her clever brain allows for her to problem solve quite well. She’s a perfectionist that strives to do things right the first time and will grow more frustrated with every failure. Short tempered and strong willed, Mili isn’t afraid of clashing with her peers or family. Despite coming from a high class family, she wants to create her own path in life and be known for something other than her family name. She is somewhat modest with most of her outfits and behavior. Very outspoken at times. Can be sarcastic. Doesn’t shy away from dark humor, but will keep it to herself because there’s a time and a place for those things. Rather solitary and a bit abrasive at times, but anyone that manages to get past that may discover her somewhat softer side.

Bio: Thunder rattled the family to their core as they stood huddled around a fresh grave. The sleek coffin had yet to be lowered into the ground. Heavy raindrops colliding with various surfaces almost completely drowned out the few sobs and sniffles coming from under the black umbrellas. Only one voice could be easily heard through the ongoing storm. So shrill. So heartbroken. Even at just a few days old the infant seemed to be overwhelmed with grief at the loss. A man dressed from head to toe in black held the tiny newborn close with one arm and an umbrella in the other; a somber expression on his face.

They stood there for quite some time. Even after the others left. Baby Mili had just finished a few ounces of breastmilk (provided by generous donors that heard the news). It was a miracle she decided to even take the bottle. Some of the elders in the family thought her reluctance to eat was a sign of tremendous grief and believed she wouldn’t see even her first year.

Time went on. Baby Mili’s health fluctuated but she saw her first birthday. And her second. And her third. And even her fourth; much to the surprise of the Winthrope elders. She was deemed a sign of hope in dark times. A light born from the darkness of the tragedy that was the loss of her mother and aunt. All in the same night. It was said that the stress from whatever medical problem her mother endured forced her into early labor. By the time they found her, she was already gone and a tiny premature baby lay squirming between her legs under a soaked comforter. No one really discussed the odd happening. The Winthrope family knew that death, though sometimes mysterious, was inevitable.

Things got easier for Mili and her father as she grew. She loved to learn, despite sometimes needing extra help. Animancy was the family’s main focus, but somehow or another the small girl also managed to gain some “house magic” skill (basic magic used to do every day tasks).

As Mili hit her teen years she became increasingly more curious about her family’s craft and the events of the night of her birth. It put her father, Keene, in a tough position. It still hurt deeply to talk about the loss of his love, but he told what he knew and nothing more. The information was so...lacking. After that, Keene noticed a change. Some days it was as subtle as a slight shift in the air and other days...not so much. Maybe she was a bit more agitated one minute and relaxed another. Maybe she was just sitting and having a snack that she loved one minute and the next she was choking on it and spitting it out frantically into the trash. It took a lot of time for Keene and Mili both to adjust (especially since Mili never remembered the odd instances), but they managed.

Now, with school starting, Mili is eager to find success outside of her family name. Finding her own way was always the plan, ever since she could even comprehend a plan for the future. Although...something deep within tried to keep her grounded to her home. The internal battle was something she never thought she’d have to deal with when she stood at the threshold of Winthrope Manor.

“One small step for the everyday Winthrope… One big step for me.”
