It wasn't that she wanted to participate in the tournament, but rather felt compelled. Being drawn away from her work for fighting? This was completely out of character for her. Then again, she was curious if her training was paying off. She got no joy from fighting others, but the opportunity to test the fruits of her labor was worth the hassle. After all, she had to be strong to support the others. Stepping into the arena, she looked around for her opponent who should also be making their way over. "I wonder what my opponent is like..." In her head, the worst possible outcome would be fighting someone like Pars. Forget the experience, that would just be too much of a hassle...
Spike slowly approaches the arena, grumbling to himself about how he ended up in this tournament as he looks over a pamphlet with his bracket on it. Then once he enters the arena he does a doubletake between the bracket and his opponent in disbelief and blurts out "You're and android? You don't look purely mechanical." with a look of confusion on his face as he fails to notice the sound of the match starting signal going off.
Sev was in the middle of stretching her legs when her opponent came up. A young fellow wearing a large pair of goggles, though she could tell they were not an ordinary pair. There was something odd about him that she couldn't put her finger on. At his exclamation, she would stand up right to face him properly. "I am and I'm not..." she would answer him plainly in response to his inquiries. While she was referred to as an Android, she was more akin to a Cyborg. Though now a days, she was even more organic than when she was first augmented. As the bell signaled the start of the fight, the woman closed the distance between her and his opponent. She would open the fight with a sweeping kick at him legs, attempting to knock him to the floor.
Spike cocked his head and looked even more confused after the "android's" noncommittal answer to if she were purely mechanical. He then finally noticed that the match was starting as he saw 7 run up to him and attempt a leg sweep. Spike avoids that leg sweep by floating a few inches above it then says "Well it sounds like you might have a complicated story behind the name, but sense the match has started I guess you aren't about to go into detail. Oh and sorry in advanced if this cuts you worse then I'm expecting sense I don't know how armored you are." before forming an energy blade around his foot and doing a full 360 degree backflip in the air as he attempts to kick her with the blade.
At the boy's response, Sev felt she was now regretting entering under the name 'Android 7'. She should have just gone by 7 or Sev as some of her friends stuck to calling her. Even her real name was a viable option, but alas, that was neither here or there. Her sweep attempt had failed; her opponent revealing himself to be much quicker and more nimble than she expected. Even more impressive was his counterattack by forming an energy blade on his foot to kick her with. Sev raised her arms in response, taking the hit of the blade without taking any damage. "Despite the name, I would prefer you not to think of me as a machine..." she expressed her pet-peeve as she rose to her feet. And as she did, she would perform a spinning back kick to try and knock Spike out of the air.
After not even being scratched by Spike's Energy Blade, Android 7 expressed her preference of not being thought of as a machine before attempting to roundhouse kick Spike out of the air. "Fine by me. You look too human for me to assume you aren't some kind of cyborg, and my current assumption about the name is whatever mad scientist made you into a cyborg calls you an android in an attempt to dehumanize you." Spike says as he floats higher up again to dodge the incoming kick. He then clicks his tongue and thinks "Oh geez she wasn't even scratched by that attack. She must have some serious armor incorporated into her skin or some sort of invisible barrier capable of stopping a ki blade on top of her skin. Hopefully, after the match is over, I'll get a chance to ask her exactly what kind of tech she is augmented with, and how it's powered given her lack of ki signature." as he notices the lack of damage his Energy Blade did. Not quite sure what to do next sense he wasn't sure it was possible for him to hurt 7, Spike put out a hand and attempts to form a spherical energy barrier around 7, then, if she is caught inside the barrier, Spike will attempt to telekinetically push the barrier now trapping 7 inside it towards the edge of the arena whilst hoping she has no way to counter this attempt to toss her out of the ring.
It seemed her young opponent was quick on the uptake as to why she was called an Android. She actually never had any confirmation on the matter, but also assumed was the case. To an extent, it worked- even she had doubts for a while whether or not she was still human. As her kick whiffed, failing to bring the boy down, Sev took a brief moment to consider her options. He was too quick for her simple attacks causing her to think of using a technique instead. Before she could put her plan into motion, she was placed in some kind of barrier that wasn't her own. Digging her feet into the ground, she would stand her ground against the force that was not trying to push her out.
Impressed that 7 managed to hold her ground against his attempt to telekinetically push her out of the ring after he caught her inside an energy barrier, Spike stops pushing the barrier and instead focuses on keeping it formed and keeping 7 from attacking him as he hovers a bit backwards and then starts charging two light green balls of ki in his hands while saying "KA ... ME ... HA ... ME ..."
Fortunately, she was able to stand her ground and avoid getting pushed out. But her situation was not the greatest; her opponent was faster than she was and forcing her on the defensive. Perhaps it was a good thing her guard was pretty durable, but this would not win her the fight. She needed to find an opening to turn things around in her favor. As for her opponent, he was gearing up to use a more powerful attack. Gauging the level of power he was gathering, it was probably in her best interest to block it. But before doing so, Sev moved closer to close the distance between them. If she could brave his attack, she just might get a chance to attack in return.
Seeing 7 approach him despite still being trapped in the energy barrier he put around her, Spike stops focusing on maintaining the barrier (thus allowing it to drop rather then continue being pushed forwards by 7 as she pushes her way towards him) as he says "GI ... GA ..." and the balls of ki in his hands extrude forward and start to twist around one another into a drill shape. "DRIIILLLLLL" Spike then yells as the drill-headed beam rockets forward towards 7.
The barrier around her dropped, though it was just in time for that beam to be fired. She wasn't aware ki could be manipulated in such a way to imitate a drill of all things. All she could do was see just how durable her armor really was as she caught the beam on the cross of her forearms. Her eyes fluttered from the intense light and the gust of wind the force of the attack had caused. But in the end, she managed to brave the powerful blast...and now it was her turn! Not even a moment of hesitation, Sev rushed toward Spike and attempted a spinning kick to his side. The attack would send him hurtling to the ground if it connected.
Spike watched as his best attack was blocked like it was nothing but a mild inconvenience, then let out an audible sigh as he floated back to dodge the incoming kick. "The questionable morality of someone who would make people into cyborgs and then call them androids to try and dehumanize them aside, I have to complement their craftsmanship sense you still aren't even scratched." Spike said telekinetically lifting up his goggles during a shrug and a back of his head scratch before continuing with "I wasn't even holding anything back to make sure I don't seriously hurt someone like all the times my mom forced me into sparring matches." as he started floating backwards towards the edge of the ring. "But anyways I can tell when I'm outmatched, so you better go on to win this whole thing, cus I'll be cheering for ya, Sev." Spike says as he's landing outside the ring. He then starts walking towards the spectator stands with both hands on the back of his head when a look of realization comes across his face and causes him turn back towards 7 point at her and say "Oh, and here's a word of advice for ya. Your kicks are way too telegraphed, so try some feints or mix ups in your next match if you want to win by actually hitting your opponent rather then outlasting them with that durability of yours." before giving a two finger salute/wave and flying backwards up and landing in one of the empty audience seats.
