Personality: while outwardly aloof and with an air of lethargy, Ren is more often pondering things in his own world, he isn’t ignoring you I swear!
Ren inadvertently is a problem solver, and while he may not always give a sympathetic or empathetic response, he will try to offer or implement a solution(despite protests more often than not)
Overall, Ren seems to express a warmer personality overall, but seems to lack in many social aspects.
Bio: Ren was born to a low class family. Wizards who spent their days as servants for those of high society, cleaning, cooking, and caretaking others’ family and homes for them. While Ren always admired his family for their honest work and their dedication to it, Ren couldn’t help but feel estranged from them even though he was raised by them. For one, compared to his family’s brown hair and brown eyes, Ren’s appearance stood out with his bright blonde hair and teal eyes. But more so than appearance, Ren realized from an early age that his family members were not as mentally acute as he was. Despite this, he loved them. They accepted him for who he was as he did them.
When Ren hit puberty, he began to be visited by horrible nightmares of a world unlike our. Twisted visions, sounds and voices haunted his dreams. His family did what they could, but they and experts were unable to determine the cause of his visions and nothing seemed to treat them.
Years passed from this point and Ren seemed to more or less grow acclimated to his affliction, but developed a rather bad case of insomnia because of it. To settle his mind, Ren fell back to doing anything he could to occupy his mind, reading, studying, tinkering, or any handicraft he could think of, just so long as it kept him from thinking of the things that plagued his mind while he slept.
Ren wanted to go to a prestigious school to earn a proper education and degree to pull his family out of their low standing, but found that with his current financials and with not going to more prestigious schools already, his options were basically zero. Ren’s parents surprised him with an acceptance letter from Oblivion university, along with a statement showing that his education had been paid in full by them. When Ren questioned how they managed this, they told him that they had indentured themselves to a wealthy family to pay for it, and that he better put that education to good use and live a better life than they could provide them. Ren vowed to earn back the money and pay off their indenturement as fast as possible.
With resolve, determination, and a deep gratitude for his parents sacrifice for him, Ren set off for Oblivion academy.

Health: Mindblight - A magical ailment caused by contact between the afflicted and a divine being from another plane of existence. Mindblight shows those suffering things from existences far separate from our own, things mortals should not ever see. Early stages of this ailment only seep into feverish nightmares, but later stages show unrelenting visions causing dissociation from reality, permanent psychosis, and even apparent death from insanity. Traditional medicine and healing magics seem to have no effect on the illness or the visions caused by them, and the severity of the illness itself can seemingly fluctuate. Ren has been afflicted with the disease since he was a baby and is still in the early stages of it currently.
Insomnia: Ren suffers from insomnia many nights due to horrible nightmares for some reason...
Strengths: extremely resistant to psychic and psychological attacks, with probing of his mind often backfiring as horrific visions to whomever attempted to read his mind and memories.
Ren is smart, with a creativity to match said smartipantsness.
Despite difficulty using other magic, Ren seems talented at using extra-dimensional storage space
Ren can stay awake and focused on tasks for egregious amounts of time...

Those who can “Smell” magic will notice what they would consider a “corrupted magic” smell coming from Ren, though they may be unable to sense it traditionally.
Predictions of Ren’s future are obscured and seem to be in constant flux. Like one time he got a fortune cookie and it didn’t even have a fortune in it! The audacity of that damn cookie!
I actually have no idea what I'm doing with this character and just threw a bunch of s**t together to try and make him interesting but familiar to myself.
