Weapons All Characters of all Races are able to carry a small number of Weapons with them at all times (within reason). The types of Weapons include, but are not limited to: ▪ One-Handed Swords including Straight-Edge Swords (Rapiers, Shortswords, Broadswords, Longswords, etc) and Curved Swords (such as Katanas, Scimitars, etc), ▪ Two-Handed Swords such as Claymores, Zweihanders, Greatswords, etc, ▪ Daggers including Throwing Knives, Twin Daggers, Kunai, etc, ▪ Polearms including Spears, Naginata, Staves, Bamboo-Sheath Spears, etc, ▪ Axes and Hammers of many kinds, ▪ Bows and Crossbows including Shortbows, Longbows, Hand-Crossbows, etc, ▪ Chain Weapons including Ball-and-Chain, Kusarigama, Grappling Hooks (using rope or chain) etc, ▪ Blunt Weapons such as Tonfa, Nunchaku, etc. ▪ Whip Weapons including Bladed Whips, Daggertails, etc. Basic Weapons not found in the above list can still be used; you just need to add them to your RCP first and ensure an RCP Judge checks them for fairness. If the RCP gets Approved, you can go ahead and use the Weapon in question. Each Character can start out with a regular variant of any of the above Weapons (or any such weapons you'd typically find in a similar time period). If you want your character to have an exceptionally customized weapon of any kind, you will need to purchase one or more Weapon Customization Kits from a Store. Weapon Customization ▪ Simple Customizations (as determined by an RCP Judge) require the use of 1x Weapon Customization Kit. ▪ Intermediate Customizations (as determined by an RCP Judge) require the use of 2x Weapon Customization Kits. ▪ Advanced Customizations (as determined by an RCP Judge) require the use of 3x Weapon Customization Kits. An example of a Simple Customization could be a Sword having a Dagger hidden in its hilt, or two Daggers having a thin but strong, tensile thread linking their hilts together so they can be swung around and retrieved (so long as the thread isn't cut or destroyed). An example of an Intermediate Customization could be a Bow having bladed limbs so that it can be used as an improvised blade in close combat, or a Sword having a handle formed in such a way that it can be mounted on a forearm (the user would grasp a limb of the guard while the hilt is parallel to their forearm) and swung wide. An example of an Advanced Customization could be a Whip Weapon being able to have its limbs retract into eachother and go rigid to form a Spear, or a Hand-Crossbow having an auto-loading mechanism added (though it'd only be able to fire as many bolts as the loader could carry -- say, 5?). Most mechanisms using springs, bearings and precision mechanics will fall into this category, for obvious reasons. As part of the Human Race Bonus, all Human Characters start out with one Weapon Customization Kit that they can use at any time, or sell, or trade away. Armor All Characters of all Races are able to wear up to one complete set of Armor, though they may be able to layer lighter armors underneath heavier ones (within reason). The types of Armor include, but are not limited to: ▪ Light Armor including Cloth Armor, Leather Armor, Banded or Stitched variants of such, etc, ▪ Heavy Armor including Metal Armor, Keratin Armor, Studded or Reinforced variants of such, etc, ▪ Head or Face Coverings including Masks, Helmets, Leather or Armored Hoods, etc, ▪ Shields of all shapes and sizes, from small Bucklers to large Tower Shields. Basic Armors not found in the above list can still be used; you just need to add them to your RCP first and ensure an RCP Judge checks them for fairness. If the RCP gets Approved, you can go ahead and use the Armor in question. Each Character can start out with a regular variant of any of the above Armors (or any such armors you'd typically find in a similar time period). If you want your character to have an exceptionally customized Armor of any kind, you will need to purchase one or more Armor Customization Kits from a Store. Armor Customization ▪ Simple Customizations (as determined by an RCP Judge) require the use of 1x Armor Customization Kit. ▪ Intermediate Customizations (as determined by an RCP Judge) require the use of 2x Armor Customization Kits. ▪ Advanced Customizations (as determined by an RCP Judge) require the use of 3x Armor Customization Kits. An example of a Simple Customization could be Leather Boots with a retractable Dagger hidden in each point, or a Buckler with a rope hidden in its handle for use in climbing. An example of an Intermediate Customization could be Reinforced Metal Stitching in Cloth Armor that can reduce damage from Slashing or Blunt strikes (but won't help against Stabbing or Piercing strikes), or a set of Heavy Armor that can easily shed most of its plates when the wearer needs to be silent, quick or nimble, after which point the vital parts of their body will remain covered, but the rest won't. An example of an Advanced Customization could be Segmented Plating in Metal Armor (increases its weight but greatly increases protection), or Fluid-Soaked Ceramic Inserts in Cloth or Leather Armor that are resistant to burning and piercing attacks. As part of the Human Race Bonus, all Human Characters start out with one Armor Customization Kit that they can use at any time, or sell, or trade away. Accessories and other Equipment All Characters of all Races are able to carry and equip a range of Accessories (within reason). The types of Accessories include, but are not limited to: ▪ Belts, Bags and Pouches, ▪ Neck Protection including scarves, wraps, etc that would not otherwise be considered Armor, ▪ Wrist Protection including gloves, wraps, etc that would not otherwise be considered Armor, ▪ Weapon Sleeves, Holsters or Sheaths of all shapes and sizes, ▪ Jewelry, Rings and other wearables, ▪ Writing Tools, Painting Tools, Fishing Gear and other hobbyist supplies. Basic Accessories not found in the above list can still be used; you just need to add them to your RCP first and ensure an RCP Judge checks them for fairness. If the RCP gets Approved, you can go ahead and use the Accessory in question. Each Character can start out with a regular variant of any of the above Accessories (or any such weapons you'd typically find in a similar time period). If you want your character to have an exceptionally customized accessory of any kind, you will need to purchase one or more Weapon Customization Kits or Armor Customization Kits from a Store. Accessory Customization Accessory Customization is very simple; you can choose to spend either 1x Weapon Customization Kit or 1x Armor Customization Kit in order to customize an Accessory. There should be no need to deem the customization as "Intermediate" or "Advanced", as all Accessory Customizations should be Simple ones. If they allow the Accessory to be used as a Weapon or Armor piece, then they're not an Accessory; they're a Weapon or a piece of Armor.
