Entering the barn, Thistle searched among the other trainies to fine Twine. She was the best trainer and Thistle wanted to be the best so she would train with the best. Spotting her at the center of a group, Thistle made her way over to the front of the group. Not wanting to be rude she waited for Twine to give the group their tasks before getting her attention.
Clearing her throat she call "Twine ma'am I am here to begin my first day of training." Twine turned to her with a strong and confident stair. "Are you now young hare." She stated more the questioned but Thistle answered all the same. "Yes ma'am." Grinning Twine turned away and started moving out of the barn "We will see if that is true young hare." Twine said.
Stopping outside in a nice open space, Twine turned to the following Thistle. With a smile she said "Lets play a game of tag huh." Running up to Thistle, Twine touched her with her paw and took off. Confusion flashes across her face. "This is a kits game." she thinks to herself but it only last for a moment before she takes off after Twine.
Long large leaps had the distance between then no more then a hares distance. She was fast, that was clear but Twine had years of experience and training to her advantage. When Thistle zigged Twine seemed to know and she would zag. Frustration at her inability to catch Twine flooded through her veins as she tried and tried. After what seemed like hours, Thistle stopped in her tracks. She needed to think...and catch her breath. Shacking her head she tried to come up with a sound and strong plan but nothing sprang to mind.
"Have you given up young hare?" Twine called form in front of her. "Never." Thistle panted out. "Well then..." She said as if to tell her to continue the game. But that strategy was not working for her. Twine clearly had the upper hand in skills. "Think Thistle think." Then a idea came to her and with out a second thought she jumped straight into the air and right for Twine. Sadly Twine must have seen the idea cross her face and she simple stepped to the side of her jump landing with a hard thud and rolling a couple of time. Laying in a heap, Twine slowly approached her. A large smile and small laughter fills her face. "Well I think this was a good start to your training young hare." With that Twine turned around began walking back to the barn "See you tomorrow Thistle. That is when the real work starts."
Thistle lay in the dirt smiling. She was not sure how Twine knew her name but she had accomplished one thing today. She had impressed Twine and was on her way to becoming a challenger. She would start training in the morning. This was a good day for sure. Sitting up Thistle spent the rest of the day watching and studying the trainies.
