The Vale News Network (VNN) is a local news network stationed in Vale. It handles several topics from recent criminal activity to the Faunus Civil Rights Protest and actions concerning the Crimson Fang. VNN is dedicated to providing our loyal viewers with the most up to date information possible!
ISSUE ONE

A ▬ The Cavern Missions have nearly all officially ended! There is some wrap-up role playing currently happening, but we are now transitioning to a more relaxed role playing period with fun events and free-time!
B ▬ Please check the Ṕlot Prøgressiøn + Ṁission Ḅoard to see the changes that have happened! I will summarize below though: 1. We have had multiple team missions with the events and the Grimm Invaision bar has dropped not one, not two, BUT FOUR points! Woohoo! We were on the brink of disaster, but now we are in the green zone! Alongside these missions we have jumped THREE points towards out goal to UNLOCKING ATLAS!
C ▬ Below you will find the summary of the event missions:
One of the teams from Beacon was on an official mission to provide protection while the a section of Vale's outer defense was being repaired when a chasm opened up just outside of the wall. Hundreds of small grimm crawled out and attacked along with other grimm (a nevermore). The team survived, but with heavy wounds. This mission is what started the entire event which was named: In ƚhҽ Đαɾƙnҽss.
Beacon Academy and the Military decided to make the exploration of this mysterious cavern system a joint mission in an effort to work more closely together. Geological scans revealed that the cavern system branched into two. Each cavern was given a name: Đαɾƙ ₳lphα Cαve, and Đαɾƙ Ømҽgα Cαve. Two large teams were formed. ₳lphα & Ømҽgα were their group designations corresponding with the cavern they would ultimately be scouting out.
Đαɾƙ ₳lphα Cαve ▬ Dark Alpha marched straight ahead and found a large cliff, but before they could scale it, villains that were lying in wait triggered a series of explosions causing the cavern floor to rip open. Half of Alpha group was swallowed by the earth movement and found themselves in a separate cavern entirely (See next section for more on them). The group above ground will be referred to as Alpha Main hereafter. Alpha Main then found a horde of beowolves drawn out from side chambers all around them. IT is very unusual for beowolves to be underground so foul play is suspected. Alpha Min held their position against the cliff face for an absolute agonizing amount of time. They suffered horrendous injuries and barely managed to escape up the cliff wall with their lives. Even then their lives were threatened by a Hellfire Alpha Beowolf that attempted to scale the wall and create a platform for its grimm pack below. They were saved by an unlikely hero who will be named in the next section. The group, having suffered so much already figured their mission was nearly over, but one of their members Reikka was kidnapped in the chaos by a two faced villain. They were unable to pursue, and forced to continue onward. After that the group found a massive vault door unlike any they had ever seen. Several clues were dropped as to who created this vault door (ask those who were on the mission!). Alpha Main also found some villains looting a small security building to the side of the vault door. They managed to escape without a conflict though. The students, barely alive, managed to find a side cave that led upwards to the surface. Likely the route the villains originally took. One of the members, Usien, was the first to make it out, and discovered an airship that had been ravaged by grimm. He managed to collect a recording device held by the pilot before making it back to the rendezvous spot. The remaining members of the group evacuated and reported their ordeal. Most of them getting critical medical attention.
Đαɾƙ SPLIT [₳-Collαpsҽ] ▬ Alpha Split found themselves in a smaller cave with sleeping deathstalkers. They attempted to traverse carefully but ended up in a full blown battle with the deathstalkers and ravagers. Chaos ensued, but they also were able to retreat into a small crack in the wall. In this narrow passage they found a large artifact of sorts. A shiny metal object that was meticulously crafted and designed, but had no obvious seems or ways to activate. They worked together to carry this object out and turned it in to the military for study. Yui, one of the members of this group heard that Alpha Main was still in the caves and with her wings rushed to their aid. Ultimately defeating the Hellfire Beowolf and saving Alpha Main, but she did this against a direct order from the commander himself and was arrested upon her return with Sky who followed behind her.
Đαɾƙ Ømҽgα Cαve ▬ This team had a teacher escort with a military droid due to the percieved dangers of this route. Omega took a smaller windy cavern that veered off into a large volcanic underground complex. Lava broiled beneath them as they traversed old bridges between small cliff sections. A vault door, though much smaller than the one Alpha found could be seen with an old sentry bot. Omega was struggling to cross the bridge and half of them got stuck, while the other half made it to the lab door. A large cliff area surrounding it. Several bodies were found with one living member from a senior team that was apparently sent ahead. This surviving member joined Omega. A riddle password was required, and they solved it with relative ease. Once the door was open though an ambush occurred. It turns out the surviving male from the scout team was just a disguise. Villains drew other grimm into the cavern and a large battle began. Some students still on the bridge. The teacher turned out to be mentally unstable and had a breakdown that made matters worse. The villains were able to penetrate the Lab's inner rooms with precision and escape with some goods, they ended up dropping a canister of yellow fluid into the volcano which causes some minor volcanic activity that triggered even more chaos as large stones began to fall from the cavern ceiling. A few students made it into the lab, but it was rigged with fire dust and triggered by the escaping villains. The dust exploded into a fury of flames knocking some students out. The students outside managed to find a cave that led to a small utility corridor under the lab to escape.
Where we are now: Lunia, Narx, Vance, Ora, and Lena just made it out of The lab, Lena was caught in an explosion that caused some severe damage and is now permanently in a coma. Lunia has inherited the Maiden's power though this is not known publicly, or even by her yet.
The military is also now setting up a research facility to study the large vault door and its secrets. Opening it could take months, but they are committed.
The Artifact has been taken into the Research & Development agency to be studied, but nothing is currently known.
Yui, and Sky have been arrested for violating orders and are in military custody in spite of their heroic intentions. They are set to recieev punishment in the near future.
The recording device has been unlocked and the council are to review what to says, and decide if they wish to release this information to the rest of the kingdom.
The kingdom's spirit's were uplifted during the water festival. A much needed break from all the worry and news of the disastrous missions and unknown finds. Classes have now resumed, and students and faculty are looking forward to Hallow's Eve Ball.
