Broken_Illumination12/03/2019 It was late night, as everyone in the house had been asleep by this point, a soft tapping at the window near Deskri before the window seemed to open itself. A black raven cawed, flapping its wings for a few moments as it dropped a wax-sealed letter on the ground and suddenly the bird vanished but the letter remained, addressed to Deskri.
Within it's contents read the following, [3:16 PM] Deskri Meiann,
I must preface this letter with the notion that while the elders had decided not to continue sending out these correspondences, it's been shown to me that this one needs to be written. As per my item, I am able to see what may not have happened yet, and I can foresee your turmoil, your death as it were. While I am not meaning to alarm you, you are a crucial lynchpin in a series of events that need to happen else this world and everything in it will be further plunge back into darkness. You have that power within you to change the fate of what we might succumb. So I must give you this choice to strengthen what you need to be that pillar in the domino effect that will set us on the right path to peace and prosperity.
I've watched you for your whole life, and I know you are capable of this. Else I would not bother to reach out. Only you can change your own destiny. You will face several trials, and one that you must face alone. But you must choose what it is you need to move forward. . [3:16 PM] You can choose inner strength, you will find the strength to endure anything in the Village of Ranimos, they have been known to harbor some key to inner peace.
It could be possible that you seek to speak to the divine being known as Anarwen. She has been known to grant a wish to those who can demonstrate why they deserve their desire to be fulfilled.
Or you could wish to seek out Gaia herself for a divine gift, they call them Symbols of Radiance. These artifacts that enlighten your spirit and mind as well as true strength.
What it is you choose for yourself will take you on your journey towards becoming a true elder. This will be no easy task and unfortunately this will be a quest for you and you only. The likeliness that you will be able to stay in contact with those you are close to is very small, as you may also be gone for months depending on the path your carve. The path is dangerous and gruely but I have the utmost faith in you that you can complete this.
I wish you the best of luck,
Sincerely, Avon Metamorphose
nepsah12/03/2019 He'd settled, sort of, as much as he could settle anywhere. Which was why he wasn't as quick to respond to the tapping as he otherwise normally would have been. By the time he'd realized something had been attempting to get his attention, the raven was only a half a second from disappearing, leaving the letter behind. His mood immediately soured. Strange animals leaving sealed letters in the middle of the night could not be a good thing.
Pushing his growing wariness aside, he opened the window and retrieved the letter, then shut it again before opening it up. He read it a few times over, mind spinning. Him, a crucial lynchpin? He had half a mind to crumple it up and toss it- he'd done enough. Had enough. He was tired...... but some lingering sense of something (foolishness? responsibility? obligation?) kept him from doing it.
He sighed, folding it up, and then rubbed at his face with both hands. He'd already fallen off the radar a few times. Would it be okay to disappear again? He agonized over it for quite some time before finally deciding he might as well do it. [cont] [3:58 PM] . It took about half an hour for him to piece together what he thought might suffice for a travel kit - at least a basic essentials one. Not wanting to disappear completely unannounced, he sought out some paper to write on. As soon as he pressed a finger to it, inky-black fluid coming to a nail, he paused. He should say goodbye in person, it would be the right thing to do. But hard... too hard. Forcing his hand to move, he wrote out a simple letter saying he had to do something that would take some time, and he might not always be able to talk, and lastly... that he was sorry for not waiting for Rasiel to wake up before leaving.
Finally satisfied he was prepared, he quietly snuck out the front of the house. Out of all of the options Avon had given him, inner strength seemed like the best option to pursue. The Village of Ranimos would be his first destination, then. [done? lmk if i need to adjust anythin?]
Broken_Illumination12/03/2019 Any map could show the village of Ranimos was a visible documented island off the coast from the city of Tylion about a couple hours bus ride west of where he had been staying with Estrian and Rasiel.
nepsah12/03/2019 In town, he picked up a map to use - paper versions of things tended to not stop working when he needed them most. After studying it for a bit he worked out where he'd need to go...getting there would be a headache. He hated public transportation, but he was absolutely not going to walk the whole way. That'd take ages. At least the bus wasn't far from where he'd been staying.
Lucky(?) for him, he managed to score a window seat toward the back of the bus. Easier to ball himself up and try to blend in. Once he was settled he pulled the letter back out again, re-reading it a few times until he realized he had no idea what the ******** he was supposed to do at his destination once he got there. s**t. It just figured he'd leap into some arduous task without thinking it all the way through first. Grumbling to himself he pocketed the letter again and just tried to stay comfortable during the long bus ride.
Broken_Illumination12/03/2019 The ride wasn't exactly the smoothest but it was getting him there. About halfway there, it began to rain, and only seem to worsen the closer he got to the city. By the time he reached the city, he was the only one left on the bus. The driver had been eyeing him through the rearview for some time now with a mix of pity, concern, and confusion but was obviously not going to say something. His job was to drive the bus, not question why meta kids were riding buses alone.
As the bus pulled up to the small station, he glanced back again. "Last stop. Tylion." he called out, half hoping the kid was just lost but also hoping he just got off the bus without question so he didn't have to deal with it.
nepsah12/03/2019 As the bus emptied he started to feel less on edge, though the increasing rain did not help his mood. He noticed the driver seemed to keep looking back at him, but he wasn't about to ask a human what his problem was. That wasnt ever a good idea.
When the bus stopped at Tylion, he finally uncurled from his spot and then shuffled toward the exit. God, the rain was terrible. "Thanks." He called to the driver before stepping off. Whatever was bothering thst guy, he didnt want to know. Edgy humans had a knack for lashing out in his experience.
First things first.... Shelter. He looked around for the nearest building that looked like a good candidate.
Broken_Illumination12/03/2019 All the houses that lined the streets were dark within, suggesting everyone was still asleep especially this late with a storm brewing ahead. Some scouting would reveal a precariously unlocked large shed that could provide some shelter for the night or at least until the rain let up. It didn't look like anyone would be coming outdoors to check on it anytime soon.(edited)
nepsah12/03/2019 He really should've known there wouldn't be anything like an inn available. Well, it wasnt like he hadnt slept in sheds before.
He sort of jog-walked over to it, then slipped inside. It would have to do. He did his best to get comfortable, and hopefully get a couple hours of sleep.
Broken_Illumination12/03/2019 The storm passed and the next morning was overcast with a thick fog that blanketed the streets. The city almost looked abandoned besides the sound of someone sweeping leaves across stone road in the distance. Otherwise, there were no sound of birds or animals or people, it was eerily quiet.
nepsah12/03/2019 A couple of hours was what he had been shooting for, and it was all he'd really gotten. Sleeping in strange sheds on stormy nights wasn't exactly the most comfortable way to sleep. Paranoia kept him from ever truly sleeping soundly... that and the cold and how cramped he was starting to feel. Staying with Rasiel and the others had spoiled him a bit, it seemed.
He straightened himself out as much as he could as he exited the shed. Outside, he paused to examine his surroundings. Not a whole lot to see, due to the fog and his own poor eyesight. "Well ********." He muttered to himself. This was already looking like a bad idea.
Cautiously, he made his way down the road, toward the sound of sweeping. God, he really wished Avon had included more instructions in that stupid letter. Who was he supposed to talk to here, anyway? He didn't even know if these people were Meta friendly for ******** sake.
Broken_Illumination12/03/2019 There was a man with damaged angelic white feathered wings sweeping outside one of the houses. He glanced over at Deskri as he approached and rubbed his eyes as if he honestly thought it was a hallucination. "........you're a real person... what are you doing in Tyrion... and alone?" he asked with confusion. He didn't seem to mind Deskri didn't look human but did seem to look him over with a bit of fascination.(edited)
nepsah12/03/2019 Unease lifted a little as he realized the fuzzy white on the man's back was, in fact, angelic wings. He slowed to a stop as soon as the man started speaking, though. He did not like the question. At his feet, his shadow rippled a little.
Talking to other people was difficult and only made all the harder by the vagueness of his letter. He couldn't very well just pass it over- it was private, meant just for him. He shrugged his shoulders, trying to appear unbothered (and likely failing miserably at it) by the man's surprise. The stiffness in the motion and the way he couldn't help but glance around were giveaways that he wasn't exactly comfortable.
"I'm lookin' for somethin'... you're a person, right? What are you doin' here?"

Broken_Illumination12/03/2019 "...I live here." The man tilted his head a little. "I don't think anyone's visited this place in over a year now." he then smiled. "What are you looking for? Maybe I can help you find it. The fog is pretty thick, but I'm used to it by now."
nepsah12/03/2019 Ah. Permanent fog. That didn't sound good at all. His shadow rippled a little more as two eyes formed toward its back and began to peer around the area. "All I know 'bout it was this place is s'posed to have some uhhh...." he paused, trailing off as he tried to remember how Avon had phrased it.... "Key to inner peace...?" Yeah. That was it. Sounded dumb as all hell but it was what Avon had said would help him with an inner strength issue.
Broken_Illumination12/03/2019 "...a key?..." The man seemed confused. "I have a lot of keys but they open doors.. not.. uhh.. inner peace?" he lifted a ring of keys off his belt loop and thumb through it for a moment then shook his head. "....i have every key in Tyrion... so I don't know where a key of inner peace would be..."
nepsah12/03/2019 "Right..." He resisted the urge to roll his eyes. Obviously it wasn't going to be some sort of tangible item- that would be too easy. "Where is everyone? This is supposed to be a village, right?" A change of topic was in order. He had half a mind to just go explore on his own and figure it out that way, just like he always had, but since he had a local on hand for the time being... it'd be useful to get information first.
Broken_Illumination12/03/2019 "Everyone is gone. Either they left to the island or they went inward of the mainland. There used to be a lot of fighting here and it drove everyone away until I was the only one left." he explained. "Village? ...No, this is the City of Tyrion. Do you mean Ranimos Village? That's on the island. I can take you by boat there off the pier if that's what you're looking for." he offered.
nepsah12/03/2019 He could've kicked himself right then and there. God, of course he hadn't gotten completely to his destination. "Oh, yeah, that's where I'm headed." He nodded, "if... it's not a trouble, yeah, that'd be nice." He resisted the initial urge to say 'no'. Swimming wasn't exactly something he was good at and shadowporting long distances to places he'd never been before didn't exactly end well, usually. Best to accept help for once.
Broken_Illumination12/03/2019 The man smiled and moved to prop the broom up against the house beside the doorway and then waved for him to follow as he lead him to the docks. He glanced back often to make sure Deskri didn't get lost or left behind.
As they reached the docks, he got into one of the boats docked there then offered a hand to help him in if he needed it before turning to the motor and taking his keys, finding the right one and turning on the motor. He waited until Deskri was safely seated before he began to drive the small boat across the water into the dense fog. He at least seemed to know where he was going even if he couldn't see all that far ahead.
nepsah12/03/2019 He followed, shadow still keeping its eyes out and observing their surroundings. This seemed a bit too easy, so far. Nonhumans tended to be more friendly toward Metas, but there was still that danger that this was a hoax... A really elaborate hoax.
He climbed into the boat, then found a place to secure himself. He did Not want to go overboard. As they started moving, he couldnt help but notice that the view ahead was still mostly blocked.
"...How far does the fog go?"
Broken_Illumination12/03/2019 "It should break just before the island. Lucky for you, the fog is only over Tyrion." he smiled kindly, as if relieved that Deskri wanted to go out of the fog.
After some minutes, the fog began to break up and clear, the sun was out among some clouds in the blue sky. The island was clear in view as they pulled up to the sandy shore and the man stopped the boat. "Here you go. That path right there should lead you to the village." he pointed out a carved out path into the foliage of trees and bushes lined with long torches.
The man was obviously not going to step foot on the island, staying in the boat. He frowned a little. "Just be careful, okay? The fighting in Tyrion might have stopped, but they still fight here. They won't kill you or anything... but Indoria might if you upset her. But I think you should be fine, you seem nice." he paused. "Oh, right, my name is Gen. I'll be here to take you back when you're ready."(edited)
nepsah12/03/2019 "Oh." He shuddered a little - something just... felt wrong. He squinted as they exited the heavy fog, eyes burning a little from the increased sunlight. He braced a hand over his forehead to give him some shade and hopefully stop the stinging. Once the boat stopped, he stood up, wobbling in place a little before finally exiting onto the sand.
"Uhh, I'll probably be awhile... but thanks for the heads up. And the ride. You don't gotta wait for me." He did appreciate the heads up, but the offer to wait for him just gave him more unease. "Deskri, by the way. See you around I guess." He gave a short wave, then turned and began to trek up the trail. So... the place that had the key to inner peace was Not peaceful. Figured as much. He kept his ears open for any sounds of approaching hostility as he walked.
Broken_Illumination12/03/2019 "Okay. Well, good luck finding your key!" he called before waiting a bit then started up the boat and left once Deskri was out of sight.
There was noise of birds and animals throughout the plantlife, but he wouldn't really see any of them if he stayed on the path. After some walk, there was the sound of two people fighting ahead. The smell of charred flesh and blood wafted through the area.
"Relent! You've lost! Stop fighting!" a female voice called out.
"Never!" another female voice called back before a scorch of fire in the distance caught his eyes.
Whoever was the target seemed to easily dodge the desperate attack. "I mean it. I don't want to kill you, but I will have to if you don't stop!"
"I'd rather die than dishonor Indoria!" she yelled and let out another cone of fire.
"...wh-what.. ahhh!!!" the now familiar sounding voice screamed in pain as she was lanced with the flames, a scream he'd heard before a very long time ago, if only he could place who it was. He would have to get closer to see who it was that was fighting.(edited)
nepsah12/03/2019 Things seemed normal enough at first- various birds and other animals... and then the familiar sound of conflict. He slowed his pace, debating his options. Leave the path and risk getting lost, or continue and risk getting caught up in someone else's battle? He was so tired of fighting... but also wasn't keen on roughing it in completely unfamiliar territory.
He stuck to the path, mind latching onto the idea that one of those voices sounded familiar. Who was it..? He didn't know anyone out here, as far as he knew. He quickened his pace a little, almost crouching as he moved in order to make himself a smaller target. He needed to see who it was, and well, worst case scenario he'd just shadowport himself away.
Broken_Illumination12/03/2019 Once he was close enough, he could see that he recognized both of the girls fighting. One of the girls was a slender woman with off-pale skin, demonic wings, long wavy black hair and a very iconic heterochromia purple and red eyes. She pulled away a melted hunk of metal that had replaced her right arm from the bicep down. She looked worse for wear as she huffed softly to regain her breath.
The other girl was a short, tan orange haired girl with tiered orange, red, and black feathered wings and red markings over her skin.
"Stop now. Indoria doesn't have to know we fought outside of royale." Alice shouted, still trying to get Blaise to stop.
"Liar!" Blaise screamed and rushed in to attack her again.
Alice frowned and used the hunk of melted metal to spear through Blaise's torso. "...i'm sorry..." she whispered regretfully.
Blaise's eyes widened and looked slowly up to Alice with a fear of impending death before she finally collapsed onto the ground, ceasing to move.
Alice dropped to her knees and then covered her face with her only hand, sighing softly.
nepsah12/03/2019 Alice...? Alice. His eyes widened slightly in recognition - the other girl... had he seen her before? No... probably not. He remained hidden until the altercation came to a stop. Death wasn't anything new, and... as far as he knew, Alice wasn't an enemy. He still kept his shadow on edge just in case, though. He stepped out of his hiding place but maintained a fair distance between himself and Alice.
"...Alice? What are you doing here?" A question of pure wonder, with no accusation behind it. He thought she had died or... was a Mane? Was that what had happened?
Broken_Illumination12/03/2019 Alice whipped her head around at the knew voice, she was surprised before her eyes filled with immediate fear. She scrambled to her feet and backed up, obviously terrified of him as she tried to speak but was frozen. "...p-please... don't.. I... I'm s-sorry...." she managed to stammer out, practically begging as she took another step back.
nepsah12/03/2019 That reaction was not what he had expected. He blinked, then raised his hands up to hold them open at the sides of his head.... his shadow actually rose a little to mimic the pose. "I'm not here to hurt you- what... what's going on here?" Confusion was obvious in his tone and expression. He wanted to look around again, but worried that if he took his eyes off her she might flip to aggression instead of fear. He knew that flip too well himself.
Broken_Illumination12/03/2019 Alice put her hand up as well, taking another step back. "I-I don't want any trouble.. pl-please... just let me go..." she begged, acting like she assumed he would strike at her at any moment. "....she attacked me... she wanted to battle but it wasn't sanctioned... I think she was jealous.. wh-what do you want with me..." she rambled quickly, truly and deeply afraid of him.
nepsah12/03/2019 "Alice-" He started again, daring to take a small step forward. "It's fine. I don't care. I'm not going to hurt you." He really wasn't very good at being soothing... how could he get her to understand he wasn't a threat? "I just want to know what's going on here." He considered dropping Avon's name, but he doubted the mention of an Elder Meta would do much help.
Broken_Illumination12/03/2019 Alice took another two steps back, practically close to tears. "...why are you doing this... i don't understand..." she muttered softly. "....you said you won't hurt me... but you have... why is now any different..."
nepsah12/03/2019 "That... that was years ago. I thought we had sorted that out? Fine- if you don't want to talk we won't talk." His patience had finally given up - he'd never really been good at being patient with anyone but Rasiel, honestly. He dropped his hands to his sides, shadow mimicking the motion, and then began to shuffle sideways away from her. "I'm not going to waste time arguing with you - you wanna be left alone, so be it. I'll figure it out on my own then."
Broken_Illumination12/03/2019 Alice was confused but still scared. "Wh-what are you talking about... It was last month and you took my ******** arm!" she exclaimed, motioning to her missing right arm. "Or do I need to show you the rest of the scars to remind you what you did to me!" she narrowed her eyes in pain and kept her distance. "I don't know what in the world is wrong with you, Snow... but if this is your moment of clarity, then get help... you need it." she spoke, her voice trailing off as she seem to regret speaking out as she waited for him to get angry and attack her, almost expecting it now.
nepsah12/03/2019 Snow- he stopped, eyes narrowing. "My name isn't Snow, Alice. It's Deskri, can't you see?" He shook his head. "I have no idea what you're talking about- I didn't do that to you..." Illusion powers might explain why she thought it was him, but... a different name? This really didn't make any sense.
Broken_Illumination12/03/2019 Alice seemed apprehensive to believe him. "But you look exactly the same... you're telling me, you're not Snow... how do I know this isn't just another trick of yours..." she appeared a little receptive to the idea but was obviously weary.
nepsah12/03/2019 He really... really didn't want to deal with this. "You do know who I am, right? Deskri?? Ask me something only I would know." There was plenty she could quiz him about from when they were kids. Plenty that he doubted just anyone would know about.
Broken_Illumination12/03/2019 Alice frowned. "I wish I could.. but I don't know a Deskri." she seemed to relax a little. "If you're not Snow, then why are you here? How did you get to Ranimos?" she took a breath. "Answer that and I'll answer whatever questions you have..."
nepsah12/03/2019 Well s**t. How did he know she was actually Alice, then? "I took a boat ride from some guy named Gen." He didn't see the point in lying about that. "Some guy over in Tyrion? Has angel wings?"
Broken_Illumination12/03/2019 Alice exhaled, seemingly in relief. "Gen... Yeah, I know him.. well, did... I lived in Tyrion before they moved the battles here in Ranimos. Snow has always been here. He wouldn't know Gen... so I guess you really are someone else..."
nepsah12/03/2019 "...Okay, what battle? Who is Snow?? What do i look like to you?" He had SO many questions - and now that she wasn't cowering in fear he couldn't help but just ask them all at once.
Broken_Illumination12/03/2019 "There were fights in Tyrion, out of anger, jealousy, revenge... people died. Indoria came and gave us a solution. Those who wanted to continue fighting would come here to Raminos. Battles are sanctioned and overseen by Indoria herself. Some of us do it for honor and pride, some just get some sick enjoyment out of fighting... like Snow." she explained. "Snow is a native here, he's... not right. He gets his rocks off for fighting other people and taking it way too far. No one is supposed to die in these battles. But he does it anyway and Indoria does not like him for it." she continued and took a breath, shifting uneasily on her feet. "...you look exactly like snow, down to the sunken in yellow eyes and dark purple hair... your size and stature... your voice... it's all the same. But your words are softer... your expression is different. You seem tired. While Snow is delighted to see others in pain."
nepsah12/03/2019 Okay... that was pretty ********. "I am tired. And I guess at least I look the same, but that's..." He trailed off, not wanting to think about it too hard. "How did you get here? I thought you died- or... were a Mane now? Why would you come to a place like this? It's sick, isn't it? Who wants to do this s**t." He just didn't understand it. Wasn't she tired, too?
Broken_Illumination12/03/2019 Alice blinked. "Maybe.. you're confusing me for someone else? I've never died..." she paused and sighed. "But you know my name... which is weird all in itself." She took a breath and ran her only hand through her hair in thought. "I came here because of my brother... I don't know why he wants to keep fighting, but Indoria took a liking to him so he's her guard now. I figured if I made it up the ranks, I could just... I could talk to him and convince him to leave this place. We could go somewhere and just live normal lives." she frowned.
nepsah12/03/2019 Now that struck a chord. "Rasiel isn't here, he's off playing family with another Meta. I don't really know the details but I just left their house." He shook his head. "Something's not right here... Who is Indoria?" He briefly considered asking her to take him closer to her but if she didn't like his doppelganger... well, he doubted that would be a good idea.
Broken_Illumination12/03/2019 Now Alice stared at him as if he had grown a second head. "....are you sure..? I just saw him a week ago with Indoria at the last royale." her frown deepened. "I agree... something isn't right here..." she took a breath, and thought about the best way to answer the next question. "Indoria is a tall woman in white with horns... She looks like a creature more than a person. But she speaks intelligently like the rest of us. She's quite powerful, no one has ever beaten her if she decides to acknowledge a royale against her. It's only happened a handful of times, but the battle is usually over in a matter of seconds."
nepsah12/03/2019 "Yes I'm positive. I left their house last night." He folded his arms, thinking... What would this have to do with inner peace? This seemed like the opposite and like a mystery he didn't really want to get to the bottom of. Jeez. "Okay. How long's it been since you've all been here? If Snow's a native and is old enough to fight that seems like a long ******** time... and what about all that weird fog around Tyrion?"
Broken_Illumination12/03/2019 "....i see... kind of feels pointless to keep fighting here if he isn't even here anymore..." she sighed softly. "I've been here for about 10 years... Snow? Likely near 20..." She paused and frowned. "The fog came in about the same time Indoria showed up and it just... stayed."

nepsah12/03/2019 Again it came back to whoever Indoria was... The pit of his stomach felt uneasy. Something told him he'd have to interact with whoever she was and he really, truly, did not want to. "...Okay. Well. I got sent here 'cause I was told this place had some sort of 'key to inner peace' - but it seems more like its just a mess." He shifted his weight from one leg to the other, mulling things over. "I don't suppose you know anything about that do you...?" It was worth a shot, even if he sincerely doubted she'd know anything. That'd be too easy.
Broken_Illumination12/03/2019 "Maybe talking to Indoria? We were kind of savages before she came around. Real 'culling' type of people... but she waltzed in with such grace and wise words. Gave us a system to work out our aggressions and disputes without killing each other. Maybe she knows about inner peace and all that..." she hesitated then smiled faintly. "Don't get me wrong, I'm not like the others. They're aggressive... as you saw earlier... I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't actually want to fight. So don't worry about me trying to fight you or anything.."
nepsah12/03/2019 "You said she doesn't like Snow, though, and he looks like me, so wouldn't that put me at risk?" He liked the idea of it but it sounded so... risky... it was day 1 of this stupid quest - he didn't want to up the stakes that quickly. "If she wouldn't confuse me with him I guess that might work..."
Broken_Illumination12/03/2019 Alice sighed, "I suppose you're right..." she agreed. "Can you maybe change the way you look? At least enough not to be confused as him..?"
nepsah12/03/2019 Duh, why hadn't he thought of that? He changed his appearance all the time while he'd been out on his own. "s**t, yeah, I can do that." He frowned a bit in concentration - a few moments later his hair slowly shifted from purple-black to brown, his skin slowly gained a more healthy color and his eyes shifted to black. "Different enough?"
Broken_Illumination12/03/2019 Alice smiled, relieved he was able to shift to look different. "Yes! Perfect!" she spoke with a bit more lightheartedness. "Now we just seek an audience with her. I'll get you to her and you can ask her about inner peace.. and in return, you take me with you when you head back to Tyrion." she held out her left hand, ready to shake. "Deal?"
nepsah12/03/2019 "Okay, deal." He shuffled closer, then took her hand to shake it. He doubted Gen would protest, the guy seemed casual enough, and she seemed to know him. "Is it hard to get an audience with her then..?"
Broken_Illumination12/03/2019 "Hm, yes and no. She might entertain the idea if we get past her guards. They are sticklers for the rules. But don't worry. I'll call the royale with her guard to get her attention. I suggest trying to talk to her then while she's unguarded." she worked out the plan in her head and nodded. Yep, sounded pretty solid.
nepsah12/03/2019 "So you're gonna fight someone so I can talk to her." His eyes narrowed a little. That... wasn't what he wanted. "There's legitimately no way to talk without having to fight? At all?"
Broken_Illumination12/03/2019 "Well, I am going to call fight, but it's mostly a bait... Stalling for time just so you can talk to her. I'd rather avoid actually fighting if I can..." she clarified. "That still good with you?"
nepsah12/03/2019 "...I guess if it's the only way. I don't really know what it is I'm looking for specifically, just that it's supposed to be here." He was absolutely going to wring Avon's neck once he got done with all this nonsense. Vague bullshit. What an a**. "Alright... lead the way?"
Broken_Illumination12/03/2019 Alice smiled and nodded then turned to go up one of the pathways. "So.. how do you know me?" she asked as they walked.
nepsah12/03/2019 He followed after, still glancing around occasionally as they walked. "You're Raz's older sister right? We used to fight when we were younger- or, I guess Raz and you used to fight 'n I was just always on his side... but that sort of got smoothed over. I think. Its hard to remember. Don't got the best memory these days." He hoped she really was, or this island was about to get a hundred times creepier if it was made up completely of Meta doppelgangers. He shuddered at the very thought.
Broken_Illumination12/03/2019 "Yeah, I'm his older sister... but I don't remember anyone named Deskri... then again, I can't remember the names of all the people I fought growing up." she thought about it. "I don't remember fighting with Rasiel until only recently with our difference of opinion about the battles and Indoria.." she spoke idly as they continued to walk.
Eventually the foilage pulled back into a clearing and a village of people who seem to be just a normal bustling sort of people going about their daily lives. Some of them were familiar people from years past, and others he would not recognize. There was a larger building in the northside of the town and she motioned to it. "She's in there... and that's where the royale's are held." she explained as she continued on toward it.(edited)
nepsah12/03/2019 "... Is Syth here? What about Silas, and Moira?" s**t, he spaced the other two kids' names. He supposed if none of them were a thing this may not really be Alice. As they moved through town he had a hard time not gawking at the people he recognized. The strange feeling that this was just a fake place was really starting to eat at him.
"Oh... okay. Uh, do you need like... tending to. Since you were just in a fight?" December 4, 2019
Broken_Illumination12/04/2019 "Syth?... Uhh.. yeah. She's the one in the red house, over there." she pointed out then looked to Deskri and shook her head. "Can't say I've met the other two you just named..." she answered then came to a stop and looked down at her missing right arm. "...riiiiight, no, but I should probably get my replacement arm..." she commented then waved him to follow her towards a pale yellowish house and walked in. "Come in, sorry for the mess, I wasn't exactly expected company." she apologized. "Do you need anything while we are here. Drink? Food?" she called out as she moved to her bedroom to get her spare arm and attach it to her bicep.
nepsah12/04/2019 Okay. That settled it. Definitely not the Alice he knew. "Forget it then..." he really didnt want to get into that. He followed her to her house, glad to just be away from the others. "its fine... I'm fine." as if on command his stomach growled. Traitor. It had been a while since he'd eaten... "i guess on second thought.. What do you have?"
Broken_Illumination12/04/2019 At the sound of his stomach growling, she chuckled. "I've got some chicken and vegetables I can whip up really quick." she offered, securing the arm and returning to the living room for a moment before moving into the kitchen to cook up something for him.
nepsah12/04/2019 "You don't have to like, cook a whole meal or anything." he wasnt about to tell her to stop, though.
Broken_Illumination12/04/2019 "Oh, it's no problem at all. It'll just be a few minutes." she spoke from the kitchen, already starting to cook up the ingredients.
The house was small, a basic one bedroom house with a minimal dining area that was one bigger room with the living room which consisted of just a couch, and a kitchen. There weren't any electronics and while it was daylight, it was obvious that the means of light at night came from lit candles within the house.
After a few minutes, she came back with plates that actually looked handmade as she set down two plates of food at the thick wood table. "Here! Eat up, there's even more if that's not enough." she offered with a smile.
nepsah12/04/2019 "Okay, thanks." While she worked on that he explored a little- not that it was a very big house. Seemed strange to be so disconnected from the rest of the world to the point where they didn't even have electricity....
When she came back he shuffled over to the table and took a seat. "No this is fine- looks great." Awkward. He tried not to eat too quickly, but he was very interested in moving along. This place did not feel right.
Broken_Illumination12/04/2019 Alice smiled and ate her own food, feeling more energized now that she had some food in her. Despite her injuries, she was quite resilient so she knew she would be fine.
Once they were finished, she took up the plates and washed them before returning. "Feel better?" she asked to make sure he was okay before moving on.
nepsah12/04/2019 "Yeah, much better. Thanks." He pushed himself up to standing again, then stuffed his hands into his pockets. "So what exactly do I do when you distract the guard?"
Broken_Illumination12/04/2019 "That's good." she headed for the door before pausing. "Let's see, We will go into the stadium.. I'll instruct you where to go. I'll call the royale, and then when the fight starts, you go where I told you to get to Indoria. Once you find her, just talk to her." She nodded. December 5, 2019
nepsah12/05/2019 "Right... piece of cake." He looked as skeptical as he sounded, but if she was sure it was going to be that easy he'd just have to trust her on it. He followed along after her, now making an effort to not look at any other people they might pass by aside from ensuring they weren't going to charge them or something.
Broken_Illumination12/05/2019 There was a distinct lack of people when they came back outside to head to the stadium. It seemed they had all gone inside or something. She lead the way to the stadium and entered, the indoor colosseum like building that was empty of any people. "Alright. So you'll follow that hallways there..." she motioned to one of the seven hallways leading into the center of the pit. "Take the third right and go up the stairs two flights. Go back into the hallway and follow it down to the double doors. That's where she she be." she explained as she moved over to the wall to pull a conch horn down from it. "Remember, I'll call for the match, and once the match starts, you go where I told you." she smiled. "Got it?"(edited)
nepsah12/05/2019 The lack of people was really eerie, honestly. A blessing and a curse- no one to have to keep track of, but damn, where'd they all go? "Right... third right, two flights of stairs, double doors. Got it." He nodded, repeating the instructions several times to himself in his mind. He preemptively covered his ears as soon as she grabbed the horn - no way in hell was he gonna get his ears blown out, just in case.
Broken_Illumination12/05/2019 Alice nodded as if he was doing the right thing covering his ears. She blew into the horn, a loud echoing howl of a noise then she put it back. Waiting for someone to show.
A figure appeared to come from nowhere above them, hitting the ground but seem nigh effected by the drop itself, a pair of leathery demon wings extended to slow his fall just before his landing. A tall figure with a hooded cloak on and a mask that jore no facial features, only an ever moving static that covered the entire face.
Alice was calm as she looked at the hooded person. "I wish to call a royale with the-.."
Her words were cut short as the figure pulled back, and lunged forward, ramming a long bladed weapon right through Alice.
Alice was shocked and completely caught off guard. She didn't understand why he had attacked her and that was clear from her terrified expression. "...deskri...run for it..." she forced out through her teeth as she latched onto the man to try to hold him there.
The masked man looked up from Alice to seemingly stare at Deskri and tilted his head.(edited)
nepsah12/05/2019 What a terrible noise- he grit his teeth, wincing despite having covered his ears. The arrival of another person so soon caught him off guard- where the hell had he come from!? Alice was speaking- and then... impaled. ********. ******** ******** ********. His senses immediately flew into overdrive - he didn't bother waiting for anything else to happen - chances were he'd be heading right into further danger if he followed Alice's instructions, but he didn't have the capacity to think about that at the moment.
He darted off to the hall Alice had indicated as fast as he could, only briefly turning to look back to see where the strange masked man was.
Broken_Illumination12/05/2019 Looking back, the man was struggling with Alice in a grapple before throwing her down to the ground just as Deskri reached the stairway. He turned and watched him for a moment until he was out of sight.
nepsah12/05/2019 In the back of his panicked mind, a bit of guilt was trying to grow over leaving her to die like that... but she had said to run, hadn't she? He made it to the stairs and started up them two at a time until he'd reached the 2nd floor - before exiting to the hall again he came to an abrupt stop, pausing to listen for any other people nearby...
Broken_Illumination12/05/2019 There was the sound of people, a lot of people but it was downstairs, they seemed to not be coming closer or in any way in a hurry. Just the sound of many people walking about. The hallway ahead of him was clear and there didn't sound like anyone was forward.
nepsah12/05/2019 Still on edge, he eased himself out into the hallway, glancing both directions as he did so. One false move could perhaps get him impaled like Alice had been...
He walked quickly down toward the double doors, his shadow rising up behind him to watch the hall in the opposite direction.
Broken_Illumination12/05/2019 There was a roar of cheering below and the sound of fighting.
His shadow felt sluggish and the shadows were thick like sludge and hard to move.
Opening the double doors, a person stood there, someone who was dressed just like the hooded man before with a static mask. This one was a female figure as she appeared to be staring directly at him but didn't move.
Behind her was a large thrown like chair facing away as it overlooked the arena of the colosseum, the hooded man was fighting Alice and definitely winning as Alice was trying to back away before the man grabbed her and chokeslammed her into the ground with a painful thud. She was bleeding pretty badly by now but there was nothing she could d ok about it.
Someone sat in the chair, watching quietly. Someone that Deskri couldn't see who it was but a glimpse of pale arms with long slender fingers that were sharp like daggers.
nepsah12/05/2019 The strange sludgy feeling he was getting from his shadow was not at all comforting... He opted to let it fade back into the ground - fat lot of good it would do him anyway being slowed down like it was.
The female figure before him had him on edge again- or, well, added more edge to the edge he was already on. He spared a glance to the other inhabitant of the room and tried not to let Alice's losing fight get to him.
"I'm looking for Indoria...?" ********. That came out way more unsure than he'd meant to sound.
Broken_Illumination12/05/2019 The hooded female said nothing and moved to try to calmly close the doors on him without a word.
The figured leaned over to look at him, a tall woman with completely black eyes and sclera, slender horns growing from the top and sides of her face. Her skin was an iridescent white opal color as she stared at him a moment then looked back to the fight as if to disregard him.
nepsah12/05/2019 He steeled himself, bracing for an attack.... But she only wanted to close the doors. Nervously he glanced to the other one again- he assumed that was her.
Was this really worth it? Really? Avon was probably exaggerating how important this was - no way would he be some vital piece in the greater picture...
Still, without really thinking he slipped to the side, attempting to get into the room before the other woman closed the doors. "I was sent here -- to find something - Alice said to ask you."
Broken_Illumination12/05/2019 The pale woman looked over at Deskri as he slipped into the room and addressed her. She glanced to the guard and waved her hand to tell her to let him be. She was still focused on the fight as she said nothing for a bit.
"What are you looking for?" the woman asked softly, her voice smooth and somewhat inviting although it sounded very faintly familiar but he wouldn't be able to place it.(edited)
nepsah12/05/2019 Still eyeing the guard, he edged a bit further away from her even as Indoria spoke. "Its... not a thing, i guess... Uh.." he was clamming up. s**t. "I was told this place has uh... some sort of key to inner peace..?"
God that sounded so ******** stupid.
Broken_Illumination12/05/2019 Indoria nodded but said nothing more.
The hooded man picked up Alice, her body limp but still barely breathing.
Two other hooded, masked people pushed in a machine with a chair. The man pulled Alice over to it and strapped her in.
Indoria looked to Deskri and motioned to a bright red button in front of her. "That is the key.. go on and press it."
nepsah12/05/2019 It was impossible to ignore what was happening in the arena now. He was so confused- and so freaked out by it. What the ******** was that??? He nearly asked out loud but managed to stop at the last moment. It probably wouldn't have gone well.
"...a button." he couldn't bite his tongue on that comment. Oops. He stared at it for a moment, hesitating. What was going to happen..? He shuffled closer, still unsure of it until he came to a stop next to it.
That... Wasnt really Alice out there, was it? And she was dying already- no coming back from that. He glanced at Indoria briefly before finally reaching out to press it lightly. God, he hoped it wouldn't regret that. December 6, 2019
Broken_Illumination12/06/2019 Indoria smiled faintly and nodded as he spoke aloud what it was. A button. She waited, watching him press it, then motioned to the scene below.
The shadows began to move, like a thick sludge crawling slowly. Quite a dreadful feeling as the black congealed liquid moved toward the machine, filled tubes connected to it as the attachments to Alice lit up and glowed. If she had been unconscious, she wasn't anymore as her screams filled and echoed over the giant room below them. The crowd cheered at the spectacle as if this was all part of the fun.
Deskri would feel slender hands cup his shoulder gently as the female guard watched over his shoulder. Her grip tightened just a little as he could feel her hands shaking as her focus was completely on Alice.
Indoria smiled as she watched, pleased with the results.
nepsah12/06/2019 What the ********. What the ********. What the ********. His mind raced as the shadows shifted- it felt gross- he shuddered and wanted to look away but couldn't bring himself to do it -- and then she started screaming. He reached up to cover his ears, only pausing briefly at the feeling of hands on his shoulders, gripping-- wait. Hands, gripping-- he panicked, immediately attempting to jerk himself free of the guard's grip.(edited)
Broken_Illumination12/06/2019 Idoria was completely fixated on Alice now as the male guard looked up at her and waited.
The female guard seemed a little surprised he pulled away. Hesitating a bit. She stared at Deskri, reaching a hand up a little as to reach out for him but appeared conflicted. She took a deeper breath and pointed to the button then took a step back toward the door.
Indoria was unaware, but looked to Deskri. "You want inner peace. Fight him. And you'll receive what you look for." she pointed down to the male guard.
nepsah12/06/2019 He'd freed himself, but didn't go too far. He stared at the female guard for a moment as if she'd committed a terrible atrocity or something but... the way she reached for him was unexpected. And then she backed off, after pointing at the button again.
Indoria's instructions distracted him before he could really process it all. He looked out to the male guard and felt a pit form in his stomach. He didn't want to fight anyone... or anything, really. "That doesn't make any sense." He looked to Indoria again, "fighting is literally the opposite of peace." His eyes slid to the button again... why had that guard pointed at it..?
Broken_Illumination12/06/2019 "Inner peace is fighting and overcoming your demons.. Does that make better sense to you?" she thought about it then smiled. "Retrieve his mask." she revised.
The female guard looked apprehensive but stayed where she was.
nepsah12/06/2019 Okay, yeah, he'd heard some stupid phrase like that before, but this was a literal fight and he was pretty sure fighting one's own inner demons was usually a metaphorical thing... right? He looked back to the male guard again, then to Indoria.
"What happened to Alice? What did the button do to her?" He doubted she'd answer, but he had to at least try before he ran out of excuses to stall on making a decision.
Broken_Illumination12/06/2019 "See for yourself..." she motioned down to them.
Her screamed had stopped and the male guard unstrapped her and seemed to let her go.
Alice looked fine but appeared a bit expressionless and her eyes were completely black just like Indoria.
"She's fine." Indoria stood and addressed Alice directly. "Alice. Tell this boy how you feel."
Alice nodded. "I feel fine. My wounds are healed and I don't feel like fighting anymore. Everything is fine." she spoke but it felt scripted.
nepsah12/06/2019 Oh, that was bullshit. He glanced from one to the other, mind racing but getting exactly nowhere. "I don't believe that.... and I don't believe you." Des had reached his limit on trying to think things through - instinct would just have to do. Instinct or just... pure impulse. He hadn't been able to get his mind off the button and the way the female guard had looked at it - and why had she reached out for him?
He reached out to smack the button again - it was the only course of action his body could follow easily with how torn up on what to do he was.
Broken_Illumination12/06/2019 Indoria frowned then watched him hit the button again.
"It's too late now for that!" the female guard hissed then gasped, backing up.
Indoria immediately turned to the female guard with suspicion. "Guard!"
The male guard took flight, flying up toward them and the crowd turned to watch this new development.
"..w-wait,.. no... I.." the female guard sounded panicked.
nepsah12/06/2019 Well s**t. Des ducked a little, then darted back toward the female guard. He didn't dare try to shadowport in this place- everything felt too sluggish for a speedy get away, but he was pretty good at running at least. He could, however, use his illusions...
In an attempt to cause some confusion, he summoned up a flock of crows - while each bird looked and sounded real, upon contact it would be clear they weren't really there. The birds scattered about the room, cawing and flapping wildly. Hoping that it had worked, he reached out to grab the nearest arm of the female guard, then attempted to pull her toward the doors. She seemed like she might know something about this place.
Broken_Illumination12/06/2019 Indoria flinched back, guarding her face from the birds, distracted for the time being.
The female guard really didn't expect Deskri to grab her but quickly ran with him out of the room.
nepsah12/06/2019 Okay- that worked, for the time being. He continued to run down the hall, aiming for the stairs he'd taken to get up there. "What the ******** is going on here? You know something, don't you?" He looked back briefly to the guard he was still pulling after him
Broken_Illumination12/06/2019 "She's controlling them. Every time there's been a royale, the loser gets put in the machine and it changes them." she explained quickly, her voice sounding so familiar like a long lost friend. "I think it's the ink. I... I was put in the machine once.. but for some reason, your voice made me compelled to help you... something about you is so familiar.. but I don't know why..."
nepsah12/06/2019 "Great, okay, so the inner peace thing was a lie, but that doesn't explain why there's..." He paused, quieting down to listen for any other people nearby. Ah, wait, he could just... His form shifted once more- hair turning white, skin darkening, eyes changing to red. He looked to her, next. "You... you sound familiar too." He didn't want to know why - he had to take a guess that the male guard was this place's version of Rasiel, but who would she be...?
"Does that mask come off? You need to look different." He supposed he could make her a face but it was more tiresome to do that instead of just changing smaller features.
Broken_Illumination12/06/2019 "She's going to find us. She will send more guards after us. Then it's to the machine with us..." she whispered as he quieted down.
There was still a lot of people watching and the commotion made it hard to figure out if they were being followed or not. "Why did you press the button.." she had to ask.
"...y-yes..." she nodded and moved to remove her hood and mask. Blonde hair falling around her face to frame dark blue eyes and pale skin. She removed her cloak entirely to reveal deep purple angel wings as she quickly ditched the items and looked to Deskri. "...do you have a plan..." She looked exactly like ******** that, I'm not getting plugged into any ******** machines." The more worked up he got the more liberal his use of curse words became. "I dunno - you looked at it- it didn't seem right - too many choices too little information." He looked around for a good spot for them to recollect for a moment, not noticing her appearance until she asked about a plan.
His eyes widened - if he hadn't artificially changed his skin color it definitely would've paled. Sonnet... He let go of her, bringing his hands together in a nervous tick, fingers digging nails into skin as he wrestled with the knowledge this most likely wasn't really her, but the uncontrollable feeling of wrongness just wasn't letting him go.
"S-s....plan. Plan. I--" Quickly he reached out to tap (more like lightly slap) one of her arms just below the shoulder before starting to wring his own hands again. Her hair shifted- turning a dark auburn, eyes fading to light yellow, and wings bleached white. Different enough for now. He scrubbed at his face, trying to steady his breaths - he'd stopped breathing for a moment there.
"We regroup s-somewhere, uh, do you know of anyone else that'd be...sympathetic. I have too many questions to work on a bigger plan right now- we just need to get somewhere safer." He wondered if maybe the man in Tyrion would be of help...
Broken_Illumination12/06/2019 She flinched as he lightly slapped her arm. She didnt understand until what she could see of her hair changed. "....ohh..."
She looked at him confused as he stammered. "....everything okay?..." she frowned.
"...Alice would have been, but that's no longer the case. Uhm.. there is Snow, he would love to see Indoria fall but he's also not stable... there is a chance he might help, but there is also a chance he will turn on us the moment Indoria is gone." she explained. "I know a place. We can't get out through the front doors. It will be guarded... but there's a secret tunnel out of here in the basement."(edited)
nepsah12/06/2019 He opted not to answer that question. No, nothing was okay. "Okay, so... we're not getting out without a fight, basically." He sighed, hands shifting slightly to scratch as his wrists as anxiety continued to eat at him. "Alice mentioned him. I.. think we'd better try." He mulled it over- was the doppelganger the same as he was? Same powers? God, he dreaded to think about his doppelganger having a Malice....
"Where would he be?" He'd probably just have to drop his appearance change if he wanted anything to work- but... that also came with the risk that it would make his doppelganger not want to cooperate. "And what do you mean by unstable?" December 7, 2019
Midnight Phantom12/07/2019 ”It's quite possible we will be in a fight by the end of this..."Sonnet frowned. ”He will be our best bet despite how dangerous he can be..."
”I'll take you to him.."the walls around them were starting to turn black like inkstains crawling and spreading out. ”...but we have to get out of here first."She commented, looking around. ”Down the stairs."she instructed and moved for the stairs.
”He loves to fight and inflict pain on others, he will draw out a gruesome death if you lose to him."she explained. ”But he might be more inclined to help if it's about going against Indoria."(edited)
nepsah12/07/2019 Des's eyes followed the lines as they began to move around the walls, shuddering a little- this... reminded him of things. This all reminded him of things he'd rather not think about. He nodded and started down the stairs as instructed, moving quick and quiet to minimize the chance they'd be followed.
He really didn't like the sound of that description- it sounded... familiar. Too familiar. If Snow only looked like him but acted like--.... He'd ditch. ******** all this s**t. They weren't real- nothing here would be real. Avon would have to find some other person to count on because he wasn't willing to be near him or a cheap copy of him any time soon. Never. "I guess if he's not willing he'll probably turn on us immediately, won't he."
Broken_Illumination12/07/2019 "I don't know. I guess we will find out." she responded as she bounded down the stairs past the ground level and down to the basement as she open the door and motioned him into a minimally lit hallway. "The exit is just up ahead."

nepsah12/07/2019 "Great..." He just loooooved uncertainties. With a sigh, he slid into the hallway. There, his shadow popped into life again, blank white eyes surveying the area for any threats. His own vision actually worked better in the dark - no more squinting for him. December 8, 2019
Broken_Illumination12/08/2019 Sonnet followed quickly after him and caught up easily as she kept moving then burst out the door at the end of the hallway. "Are you okay with heights?" She asked quickly.(edited)
nepsah12/08/2019 "Im gonna have to be." He sighed- might as well just accept everything was gonna suck. "Just keep moving, I'll follow."
Broken_Illumination12/08/2019 Sonnet looked a bit conflicted but honestly figured they should move as fast and far away as possible. She moved behind him and hooked her arms under his and began to flap her wings to take flight while carrying him. She flew toward the forest but wasn't hindered by the trees and maneuvered quite well as long as Deskri didn't squirm too much.
nepsah12/08/2019 Oh- oh ********. He didn't know what he'd been expecting but it wasn't this. He squeezed his eyes shut, doing his best to just try not to think about how far up they were. He'd probably? survive? a fall but didn't really want to test his luck. Hell no.
Broken_Illumination12/08/2019 Sonnet continue to manuever the forest until she felt they were safe and then kept on a little longer, before she hit a net she didn't see until it was too late. Becoming tangled, it she hit the ground quite hard with a noise of pain, but did her best to try to break the fall for Deskri. It wasn't fool proof as small scrapes were the result of the fall.(edited)
nepsah12/08/2019 Things were fine-- and then suddenly not fine. Des opened his eyes at first contact with the net, then instinctively tried to make himself as small as possible as the two of them went down. ********- what the hell!? A series of good feelings on his arms and legs indicated he'd taken some damage, but not enough to be worried about it just yet. He attempted to make sense of the net. "Are you okay? What the ********... are you?" she asked, trying to figure out how to get out of the net.
A gruff chuckle broke the silence of the otherwise quiet forest. A boy that looked exactly like Deskri with purple hair and yellow eyes emerged and grinned. "Well well well... running away from something?" he pulled out a knife and his grin widened. "You should have been running the other direction..."
nepsah12/08/2019 "Yes, fine." His answer was a bit more snappish than he'd intended, but honestly... his patience for this entire situation was drawing thin. He froze for a second when he heard his own voice, then spotted his doppelganger. Ugh, god, this just added a new level of repulsion to how he already felt about this place.
"Yeah, okay edgy, we get it. Are you with Indoria or do you wanna take her down? Pick one." He did not have the willpower to listen to another maniac ramble about killing them slowly.
Broken_Illumination12/08/2019 Sonnet couldn't get words out fast enough before Deskri addressed Snow.
Snow blinked, obviously not expecting the boy to say such a thing. He paused then laughed heartilly. "Pretty cocky of you to try to take on Indoria. Who are you." he asked, moving to grab the net and cut it open.
Sonnet scrambled out of the net and backed up.
Snow grinned at her. "Don't worry, I won't bite... not yet."
nepsah12/08/2019 He pushed himself up, not bothering to get away quite so quickly as Sonnet had. If it was stabbing, slashing, or other knife-tricks Des honestly wasn't that intimidated by it.. Kagyaku had dulled that sense of fear at least a little. Now, the moment Snow started talking like him... that would be a different story.
"Deskri." He debated letting his illusion fall... but that could get messy. "I'm not from here, obviously. I don't know exactly what's going on but everyone so far on this island has been a doppelganger for everyone I've known growing up and it's ******** weird and its pretty obvious she's at the center of it. So she goes down." Forget the inner peace nonsense- this guy wouldn't care about it. Though he didn't move too far away, he was keeping any eye on that knife of his.
Broken_Illumination12/08/2019 Snow stared at him with a bit of scrutiny before he grinned again. "You'd be right... she's at the center of everything happening here. I've seen people who were friends become bitter enemies and fight since they got here. Her royales are a joke. A ploy to get people controlled with her ******** machine." he twirled the knife in his hand a bit as he spoke. "So you want to take her down and maybe find out why everyone reminds you of people you know..."
nepsah12/08/2019 "Not just reminds, literally looks like them." He decided dropping it would probably be the best... The illusion he was under faded until his real self showed through. "You look just like me. Alice thought I was you. But you don't have my name..." He squinted a little as he looked Snow over for any sign they weren't exact matches. "But yeah, that's the general gist of it. Are you in or not?"
Broken_Illumination12/08/2019 Snow straightened a little as Deskri transformed back. He stared at him with a more narrowed look. "...I used to.." he admitted then smirked, a flash of red in his eyes. "Before I became Snow." his smirk grew. "I just have a question for you.. Deskri. Are you also a self destrucive little freak of nature... or are you different than this one.. I'm curious.."
nepsah12/08/2019 Red- red red red - in an instant his heart was thundering and every ounce of his being screamed to get the ******** away. It was probably visible on his face, as best as he tried to control his expression. "You don't have his name either." He whispered- mostly to himself- a reminder, this was not Kagyaku. An imitation, maybe, but not the same thing.
"What I am isn't relevant. Are you in, or are you not? I don't ******** have time to waste beating around a stupid bush." He spared a quick glance at Sonnet - was she even able to run?
Broken_Illumination12/08/2019 "But he had yours... regardless of what name I take.. I have this delightful feeling you know who I really am... that look says it all. But of course you're suppressing it, just like everything else. Keep it bottled up until later. That's what he used to do. Cling so desperately to any semblance of positive attention. Disgusting little habits of trailing along like a lost little puppy. It was so easy to drag him into succumbing to the darkness. It was only a matter of time before he offed himself. What a pity." he twirled the blade around again in his hand then eyed Sonnet when he glanced at her. "Are you attached to her too... poor pathetic little thing."
"Stop it! Stop toying with him! He asked you a question." Sonnet rose to courage with anger as she couldn't stand to see Deskri backed into a corner like this. "Either you're in or you're out. Answer him." she demanded.
Snow chuckled, "Alright.. I'm in. I'd love nothing more than to see that b***h suffer as I slice her inch from inch until she begs for mercy..."(edited)
nepsah12/08/2019 It's not him. It's not him. It's not him. It's not him. It's not him. It's not him. He kept repeating the words in his head - the only thing that was keeping him from ditching everything right then and there and running. His hands twitched as if he were going to do something the moment Snow brought Sonnet up- but nothing really happened. He'd gone too stiff- too frightened. He needed to steady his breathing or he'd really lose it this time.
It had been years since he'd had to listen to that creature's voice in his head- taunting, jeering, belittling- yet the memories were still fresh as if they'd happened yesterday. Already they were flashing in his mind's eye, pulling his attention away from the present and forcing him to focus on the past.
He didn't even hear Sonnet object and reiterate the question. It was only when Snow laughed that he started to come back to the present. What good would it do to have him on their side- once he got to kill Indoria he'd just come after them, wouldn't he? Would he have two Kagyaku's coming after him now? He wrung his hands together, nails digging into the skin hard enough to draw blood.
He didn't really have a choice though, did he. "Any. Others?" He forced the words out, eyes darting between the two of them.
Broken_Illumination12/08/2019 Snow quirked an eyebrow. "Others? Whatever could you mean? Others like me?" he leaned forward just a little, his voice darkening. "...of course there are others like me... would you like to take a guess..." he grinned.
nepsah12/08/2019 That wasnt what he'd wanted to know but.. Well. He might as well have known. If a fake Kagyaku was here... Then the others must be as well. "Rasiel?" he asked. The ink in the hallway... He looked to Sonnet again... "Suminku...?" December 9, 2019
Broken_Illumination12/09/2019 Snow smirked at Deskri's realization.
Sonnet's eyes faded into a deep emerald green, a look of annoyance and dissatisfaction, but also amusement as she folded her arms. "How the tables have turned.. never thought you would be asking for help from the 'bad things', did you Deskri." she spoke before relinquishing control back to Sonnet who looked a little horrified as she narrowed her eyes in pain. "Deskri.. I'm sorry.. I-..."
Snow laughed. "What a reunion! But it looks like if you want Indoria to go down, you're going to need our help... because I'm certain you'll tell yourself 'Oh! This can't be real!' but let me tell you, this is very real. I am very real."(edited)
nepsah12/09/2019 He might just throw up. Avon must've known about this- he could see things, couldn't he? Why the ******** had he left this tidbit out, then? It didn't matter that Suminku had relinquished control back to Sonnet - the very fact that she'd been able to take over so easily meant she could do it whenever she wanted, right?
This couldn't be real. He knew Kagyaku had his own body. This was a fake- a convincing fake but a fake nonetheless. If he got rid of the thing keeping them all here- would he be releasing them? Doubles of all the Malices that had haunted his youth?
"And if you're real and we take down the thing keeping you here you'll be free, won't you. To leave and ******** everything up." His focus was on the ground now- unable to look at either of them. This was too much. He wasn't ready for this... Avon had made a mistake in thinking so.
Broken_Illumination12/09/2019 Snow growled and moved forward, grabbing Deskri by the collar. "I want everyone off my island." he hissed through his teeth. "I don't care what Suminku wants, she can die in that weak little body of Sonnet's, but I want that b***h off of this island. One way or another."
nepsah12/09/2019 He flinched, but couldn't bring himself to shove Snow away. "If you want her off so bad why haven't you gone after her?" He'd regret mouthing off like that he was sure of it but the words had just... come out. "If Rasiel's so close to her that means you aren't friends with his anymore, are you."
Broken_Illumination12/09/2019 "You've got a lot of nerve." he hissed and moved the blade to cut the side of his face then shoved him down. Standing over him, he narrowed his eyes at Deskri. "I suppose that's the difference between you and the freak. What happened to my counter part, did he get sick of you and leave or what."
Sonnet moved for Deskri, trying to make sure he was okay. "I think you struck a cord..." she whispered.
"I didn't need that digusting f*****t, he was nothing but a pawn in a greater plan until Indoria got to him. He was worthless to me, sick ******** spike of pleasant sting- followed by a warm drip, and a shove. Des crumpled, balling into the familiar position of knees-to-chest, arms wrapped around them securely. He cupped his face with one hand for a second, then pulled away to see the blood. Another familiar sight.
He looked to Sonnet when she came closer- he wanted so badly for there to be something different about either of them. Something not quite right that would prove they weren't real. If they hadn't remained friends, maybe that was why his counterpart here hadn't survived...
"Tell me about it. What she did. The beginning. If we're getting rid of her I need to know." Des kept his gaze away from Snow, though it might not be the best way to deal with all this. The less he put a face to the voice, the easier it was to see Kagyaku doing the talking. He still wasn't sure if it would be a good idea to go through with it...
Broken_Illumination12/09/2019 Snow just stared down at him. "What's there to know. Indoria showed up on the island with a bunch of people wanting to fight each other. We found out that Rasiel and Sonnet here both had someone just like me in them... obscurite was more than willing to help take down queen b***h but he went off on his own and she sunk her damn claws into him. Put him in the machine, the ******** idiot. Now he's her personal slave. Suminku couldn't stop Sonnet from going after Rasiel and got herself hooked up to the ******** thing too." he explained.
Sonnet shifted uneasily, something troubling her but she wasn't willing to talk about it. She tried to help Deskri up if he wanted it, all while glaring at Snow.
Snow just grinned. "Don't be mad, you have a second chance with this pathetic ********. You should be thankful I haven't just killed him again to enjoy his screams once more... boy, do i miss that.."
nepsah12/09/2019 "Knowing how it happened could give an idea how to make it stop, genius." He snapped, fear now making a dramatic shift to anger. Anger at him, and Avon, and the whole world for this stupid situation. "You broke free though. How." He looked to Sonnet, the question was more a demand.
Broken_Illumination12/09/2019 "Watch it, you little s**t.." Snow growled. "But honestly I was wondering the same thing. No one has ever broken free of the hold she has... why now."
Sonnet blinked and frowned. "I don't know, his voice just sounded so familiar... and maybe because he's Deskri.. it snapped me back to reality."
"Oh, poor sweet pathetic girl, he's not the real Deskri. You know very well what happened to your Deskri..." Snow laughed with amusement as Sonnet shrank back with shame and obvious regret.
nepsah12/09/2019 "There's gotta be something else... The shadows were more like ink. Suminku wasn't under control, was she?" He ignored Snow for now, just trying to make sense of it all.
"I know its your thing but can you just ******** stop with the taunts ans threats for five ******** minutes while we figure this s**t out? Do you want her gone or not? I dont have to stay here " His flare of anger just kept growing- that really wasn't a good thing.
Broken_Illumination12/09/2019 "No... it was just me..." Sonnet answered with a frown. "I'm certain it was your voice. I remember thinking I knew it from somewhere, and that I couldn't let you get hurt again. So I had to help you..."
Snow just rolled his eyes and snorted in annoyance, letting them talk it out.
nepsah12/09/2019 "Okay... But its unlikely that Raz would be the same." He sighed, then rubbed at his face with both hands. "Okay. So there isnt anyone else that hates her, is there?"
Broken_Illumination12/09/2019 "Who the ******** knows. Deskri and Rasiel were close. Disgustingly so. Maybe if you confess your abhorrent feelings for him, he will be whisked away off his feet and-.." he coughed, making a gagging noise. "Nope, cant do it. They were both disgusting." he stared at Deskri. "Obscurite. But good luck getting through to him either. Suminku, but she's already here. There's no one else. Everyone else is under her control."
"What if you just try to talk to Rasiel... maybe he will remember you like I did..." Sonnet offered with a faint smile that showed her uncertainty.(edited)
nepsah12/09/2019 Des resisted the need to roll his eyes. "To talk to him we'd have to get him away from her. He's like, really close to her isn't he?" He asked. He didn't even want to think about Snow's comment- confess feelings... He'd closed that part of himself off years ago. And this wasn't his Rasiel... and this Rasiel's Deskri was dead.
"It'd be ******** up for me to do something like that. I don't belong here." He squeezed his arms around his legs again and then buried his face into his knees.
Broken_Illumination12/09/2019 "Don't get all pissy now, you're the one that brought him up in the first place." Snow hissed in rising annoyance. "Look, how about this. She's looking for the two of you... especially you.." he pointed at Deskri with the dagger. "So, use you as bait to lure her out. Then kill her."
Sonnet frowned and ignored Snow. "I didn't mean confess anything, I just meant to talk to him. About anything. Maybe your voice will remind him? Or maybe I could talk to him. He and I weren't as close, but we were still friends..."
"Yeah, friends. Whole lot of good that did you with Deskri."
Sonnet shot him a look.
Snow put his hands up and shrugged. "We just gonna sit here all day or are we going to kill the b***h?"(edited)
nepsah12/09/2019 Frustrated, he rubbed at his head, nails digging into his scalp as he tried to sort out his messy thoughts and messy feelings. Too many of each. He'd never been good at making big decisions like this- he'd always needed someone else to help.
"Okay, fine, we go. I guess- I guess I'll try to talk to him or something if he shows up but I don't think I'll be able to." He sat up, then pushed himself up to his feet. The scrape on his cheek had healed up thanks to the darkness. "But we should try to get her with as few allies as possible. We're only three ******** people."
Broken_Illumination12/09/2019 "Fantastic." he spoke with even more unamusement. "Go trot around and get his attention. He's going to be the one pursuing you anyway to bring you back to his queen. So it should be an easy task for you." he made a shooing motion. "I won't be far behind."
Sonnet sighed. "I guess, if you're sure about this, we can head back the way we came toward the stadium... eventually we should run into him if he was following us." she spoke softly.(edited)
nepsah12/09/2019 "I'm definitely not sure about anything but it's not like the perfect plan is gonna fall in our laps." He sighed. "Do we have to fly back or can we just walk...?" He really didn't want to be dangling from her arms again whenever they ran into him - chances are he'd basically be a sitting duck.
Broken_Illumination12/09/2019 "We can just walk..." Sonnet answered, knowing that was the more ideal choice between the two.
nepsah12/09/2019 "Okay, good. Let's go then." He started off but paused, looking back at Snow, but decided not to say what he was thinking and just kept walking. Better not to prod at him too much. Now that they were moving his anger had dulled again - allowing fear to creep back up his spine. How far were they from the beach...? Could he just... make a run for it?
Broken_Illumination12/09/2019 Sonnet walked with him, quiet for some time. "I know you're not him... but I'm sorry..." she mumbled, a frown creasing her lips. "I never got the chance to apologize to him before he died... and Snow is right, it feels like a second chance.. even if you aren't the same Deskri I knew.."
Snow seemed to stay behind and watch them until they were out of line of sight.(edited)
nepsah12/09/2019 He glanced her way when she started to speak, then returned to staring ahead. This... was hard. "...It's fine." He finally answered, "I kinda owe my-you an apology too. For bein' a shitty friend... so I guess I get it." He really didn't want to think about it though - just one more thing to threaten to swallow him up when he was trying to focus on doing something else.
"...Whatever it is you think you did or didn't do I'm sure you did your best."
Broken_Illumination12/09/2019 Sonnet was a little surprised at his own apology, but sighed and nodded. Her frown deepening, "...I wish I had done my best... then you might have still been alive.I let you down when you needed me the most. I feel.. responsible."
nepsah12/09/2019 "...I'm pretty sure if I got that bad there wasn't anything anyone could've done." That... might be a lie, but sometimes it was just better to do that. To spare people the hurt. "At least he's not suffering anymore. That's how I'd look at it... and you've got one of your own, too. You've got enough on your plate." He glanced back at her again, then right back forward. As much as he was dreading this he almost sort of hoped Rasiel would come disturb this little heart-to-heart.
Broken_Illumination12/09/2019 "I still feel like I could have done more to help you... instead I just made it worse..." Sonnet looked downward. "..if you really think so..." she didn't seen to habe convinced herself that it would have been the case.
nepsah12/09/2019 "I doubt it... You shouldn't beat yourself up over it." Ha, like he had room to speak on not beating oneself over past mistakes. "Honestly it's better. The bullshit train hasn't stopped for me and he doesn't even live in my head anymore." He pointed at his head and then made a circle motion, voice turning a bit sarcastic. "Hence I'm here, 'cause some bigshot thought it'd be good to send me on some stupid mission with no real information."
Broken_Illumination12/09/2019 "Wait.. you got rid of him... how?" Before Deskri could answer her, someone ran up from behind and hook their arm up and around her neck into a head lock. It was a static-masked, hooded man. The same one from before.
"Don't move." Rasiel hissed pointedly.(edited)
nepsah12/09/2019 "I don't--" He broke off, hearing someone come running, but his reaction was too late. s**t- he really should've been keeping a better watch. ********, ********- he raised his hands in the air, having turned around to face them. "Don't hurt her- you want me, right?" He realized Rasiel probably wouldn't recognize him as the boy that had been in the room with Indoria before, since he'd let his disguise go.
Broken_Illumination12/09/2019 Rasiel kept a strong grip around her throat as he looked at Deskri. "....and who are you..."
Sonnet winced but was otherwise unable to speak.
nepsah12/09/2019 He brought the image back into place for a few seconds, dropping after. "Deskri- the one from before, just let her go. Please? It's not her fault." His eyes flickered between their faces, or, well, her face and his mask. He wanted to take it off... she'd suggested it though, hadn't she? Would something bad happen if he did...?
Broken_Illumination12/09/2019 Rasiel seemed a little conflicted before speaking again as he tightened his grip on Sonnet. "Deskri is dead. Who are you really.."(edited)
nepsah12/09/2019 "Just-- loosen up, okay? She's gonna suffocate. I am Deskri- Snow's back there somewhere." He nodded with his head in the other direction. "I'm not from here, and I don't know why but everyone here is a doppelganger of people I know." God it sounded crazy. He sounded crazy. He dropped his hands to his sides limply, mind quickly reaching another emotional overload point where thinking would get just too hard to do. "This is stupid..."
Broken_Illumination12/09/2019 Rasiel watched him and after several attempts to recompose himself, he finally loosened his grip then let her go.
Sonnet fell to the ground coughing.
"...you're not Snow..." he repeated with a moment of withdrawal. "...deskri..."
nepsah12/09/2019 Des instinctively dropped to his knees to see if she was alright, stretching out a hand to her in case she needed it. He spared a look back up at Rasiel, a new bit of worry growing in the back of his head. Expectations to live up to a version of himself that hadn't even made it... "That's right, I'm not Snow... but... you are Rasiel, right..?"
Broken_Illumination12/09/2019 Sonnet took his hand and moved toward him, trying to put a bit of distance between her and Rasiel.
Rasiel just kept staring at Deskri through the mask. "....yes..." he nodded. He took a step forward then hesitated.
nepsah12/09/2019 He helped her move away, at least to a point where she was behind him, then pushed himself up to his feet. "...Can you take that off? Will it hurt?" He tilted his head slightly. He really didn't know what he was doing but things seemed to be working? December 10, 2019
Broken_Illumination12/10/2019 Rasiel hesitated then took a step back. "Like you did Sonnet.." he motioned to her.
"He can take it off, it won't hurt him." Sonnet commented.
"Why are you so concerned about it?" Rasiel was suspicious of the request, not sure why he was asking about it.
nepsah12/10/2019 Des remained where he was, but frowned a little as Rasiel put up a resistance to removing it. He looked to Sonnet for a moment before returning his gaze to the other man. "I'd like to see your face... I can't tell how you're feeling with a mask on." He explained slowly. "...If you don't want to, I get it..."
Broken_Illumination12/10/2019 "...how I'm feeling..? Does that matter?" he sounded a little confused.
nepsah12/10/2019 "Yes, it matters to me." Des replied, perhaps a little too quickly. "I mean... I care, anyway..."
Broken_Illumination12/10/2019 Rasiel stared at him for some time in contemplation before he reached up and removed the mask, he had a scar diagonally across his face and his eyes were completely black.
"...his eyes,.. she still has a hold of him..." Sonnet whispered.
Rasiel stared at him, not saying anything as he seemed to be in deep thought about Deskri.
nepsah12/10/2019 He nodded to Sonnet's comment, then slowly pushed himself up to his feet. He was starting to feel a little numb now- a thick blanket of ... what was it... sadness? Seemed to be settling over his fried nerves. He extended a hand to Rasiel for him to take, if he wanted.
Broken_Illumination12/10/2019 Rasiel watched him, tensing as Deskri extended a hand but soon relaxed a little, although the conflicted look on his face never faded. He slowly reached out a hand to take Deskri's, almost pulling away but firmly grasped his hand.(edited)
nepsah12/10/2019 Des remained still until he finally took his hand... at which point he gave a gentle squeeze, and then stepped forward a little. "....Can I hug you?"
Broken_Illumination12/10/2019 As soon as the question left his mouth, he didn't answer, only pulling him close and hugging him. He closed his eyes, taking a shaky breath. "You're..really here." he mumbled softly. His heart beating fast despite the knot in his stomach from how much he had missed him.
nepsah12/10/2019 Des allowed himself to be pulled in. He wrapped his arms around Rasiel, giving another small squeeze. He felt... bad, because he wasn't this Rasiel's Deskri, but he didn't know what else to do, really. "For a little while... I'm not... the Deskri that lived here." He didn't really know how to phrase that.
Broken_Illumination12/10/2019 Rasiel frowned but just kept hugging him. "....i.. figured not... but you.. aren't Snow. You're you." he tried to explain his own understanding, but couldn't exactly find the right words. After a moment, he reluctantly let go, opening his red eyes as he continued to stare at him. "I just don't understand why... why you're here..."
Sonnet smiled, seeing that it worked, he looked back to normal.
nepsah12/10/2019 "Yeah, I'm me... the only one in here." Des let go to tap at his head a little. When Raz released him, he leaned back and looked up to him. Thank ******** the eyes were back to normal. He gave a loose shrug. "I got... a letter that I needed to do something... and it said this place had a 'key to inner peace' or something... so I came here. But it seems like this place is kind of ******** up and not peaceful at all."
Broken_Illumination12/10/2019 Rasiel struggled with the very idea of the concept, "You were able to overcome him?" He glanced to Sonnet questioningly.
Sonnet nodded in confirmation.
"We were promised peace if we came here, and we believed her. We lost so much following her... I wish we had never come here..." Rasiel explained.
Sonnet frowned, looking away regretfully.
"I think she still has it, whatever it was she was going to use. But she found the machine and she started making people use the machine." Rasiel continued then suddenly looked over at the noise of someone approaching.
"She should have never found that machine. It should be destroyed, it might liberate everyone under her influence..." Snow spoke, approaching from behind.
Rasiel moved to put himself between Snow and the other two, growling with anger. "..Snow."
"Long time no see... how's your face... it looks like you got ******** up." he laughed.
Rasiel was clearly getting angrier by the second. "I'll kill you for it!" he yelled.(edited)
nepsah12/10/2019 "Mmm... not really." That wasn't quite the truth. He didn't really want to get into it, though. The memories were spotty but the bits he could remember were laced with pain - actual, real pain. He perked as Rasiel's attention was drawn away, then sighed. He reached out to take his hand again and gave it a little squeeze.
"Rasiel, stop, please." He sounded so tired. Des turned his gaze to Snow next, expression souring. "Again, can you stop taunting? Are you trying to make everything harder and ******** up this plan or do you want her dead. Pick one and stick to it." He rolled his eyes, then looked back to Rasiel. "He's supposed to be with us. Long enough to take out Indoria, anyway."
Broken_Illumination12/10/2019 Snow rolled his eyes and folded his arms.
Rasiel was tense but nodded. "So you're planning on taking her down?"
nepsah12/10/2019 Des gave Snow another short look, then back to Rasiel. "Yeah, she's the cause, right? Everyone here is warped and wrong so it would make sense to get rid of her... But you said she gets her power from the machine?"
Broken_Illumination12/10/2019 Rasiel nodded in understanding. "Yeah, it taints our blood with ink."
Sonnet's eyes flashed green. "It does what."
Snow approached and grabbed Rasiel's other hand and cut it with his knife.
Rasiel pulled his hand back with a hiss of pain. "What the ******** him your hand, idiot." Snow sighed.
Rasiel hesitated, a glare set on Snow before he moved his hand out to show Deskri. The blood that pooled up was black and thick like ink.
"Sonnet's blood would be the same... same for every person who's been through the machine. Alice is the last person not affected besides myself." Snow informed.
"Not anymore..." Sonnet frowned.
Rasiel frowned deeply, remembering he was the one that did it to her.(edited)
nepsah12/10/2019 "Ink is Suminkus thing though, isn't it?" He jumped slightly when Snow suddenly cut Raz's hand. "I would have believed you, you didnt have to cut him." He frowned, reaching out to inspect Raz's hand. The blood was peculiar...
He also dipped his head at the mention of Alice... It had been his fault. He sighed. "Okay, so we need to get to that machine to break it, too. Maybe before we take her on. Since that's what she's using to control everyone... Alice didnt know who I was so I can't count on her reacting to me just being me. And while some people looked familiar, not everyone did..."
Broken_Illumination12/10/2019 Suminku looked very unamused. "It is."
Snow shrugged, not caring in the slightest. "She doesn't know you because she never met Deskri before he died. Only me." he smirked.
Rasiel growled, not liking where he seemed to be going with that statement. "Important thing is break the machine... Indoria doesn't know I'm not under her control... if someone loses a royale, the machine is brought out. Then we would have access to breaking it."
"Unless we sneak in and break it while no ones looking." Suminku offered.
Rasiel shook his head. "She'll be watching. She's expecting me to capture Deskri and Sonnet then bring them back."(edited)
nepsah12/10/2019 "Okay, okay." He rubbed at his temples as if that would help organize his thoughts. "So then I guess we're back to the using me as bait idea again..." another long sigh.
"So you bring me in, and she'll take out the machine won't she?" he looked to raz
Broken_Illumination12/10/2019 Rasiel nodded. "She will probably want you to fight me..." he sighed.
"I'll fight you.." Sonnet spoke up, having returned to normal.
"Are you crazy? I dont want to fight you..." Rasiel frowned.
"I just have to lose, right? I'll throw the match. Then they will pull put the machine." Sonnet explained.
nepsah12/10/2019 "Yeah she wanted me to when i was there earlier." He frowned, thinking more on it... Then Sonnet spoke up. "Hey, wait. You have yourself to lose."
Broken_Illumination12/10/2019 Sonnet frowned. "But we need the machine..."
If anything, she will pull out the machine to make an example of him. You shouldn't have to fight." Rasiel countered.

nepsah12/10/2019 "Whatever option has the least amount of fighting, lets do that. We'll need like, everyone if we're going to take her down."
Broken_Illumination12/10/2019 "Okay, no fighting. I'll use Deskri as bait as if handing him over. She will try to use the machine on him and we all break it." Rasiel suggested.
"Suminku can overload the machine..." Sonnet spoke.
"I'll go and sneak up on her and kill her while she's distracted by you guys." Snow added with a smirk.
nepsah12/10/2019 "Okay, good. Sounds like we have a plan, then. The shadows in there... Feel thick and heavy. I dont think I'll be able to slip through them until the machine is taken care of, if that's what's causing it. I can use my own just fine but I don't know how much control I'll have over other shadows." He really didnt like going into this not at full strength, but it couldn't be helped.
Broken_Illumination12/10/2019 Everyone seemed in agreement.
"Let's go then." Rasiel offered his hand to Deskri amd smiled.
Sonnet and Snow followed behind.
nepsah12/10/2019 "Right.." He took Rasiel's hand, and let him choose how they were going to get there. "You should probably put the mask back on since your eyes are different now."
Broken_Illumination12/10/2019 Rasiel nodded and put back on his mask and lead the way back toward the stadium.
As they arrived at the stadium, he looked back at the other two. "Stay out of sight until the machine is out..." he instructed then looked to Deskri and sighed. He pulled him, a lot more forceful now, practically dragging him inside.
Sonnet and Snow stayed back.
nepsah12/10/2019 Des nodded at the other two... Then, playing his part, started to try and tug himself free of Rasiel's grasp as they approached the stadium. "Let go...!"
Broken_Illumination12/10/2019 Rasiel was silent as he pulled him along.
Indoria was in the coliseum, watching down on them. "You've found him."
Rasiel threw Deskri to the ground in front of him. "What would you like me to do.."
"Simple. Put him in the machine. He can be a replacement for the guard he took from me." she grinned.
Rasiel motioned to people standing by as they started to wheel out the machine. He moved to Deskri, grabbing him and shoving him toward the machine.
nepsah12/10/2019 Des allowed himself to just sort of... Rag doll to the ground. He shot Indoria a dirty look as he started to push himself up. "You're not going to get me." he hissed. He attempted to scramble away from Rasiel, but wasnt 'fast enough' to get far. "Let me go!!"
Broken_Illumination12/10/2019 "I already have gotten you." Indoria smiled with delight as Rasiel strapped Deskri into the machine. He was working slowly, trying to give the others time.
Indoria waited for the machine to be in place before her smile grew. "I just have one question for you, boy.."
nepsah12/10/2019 Des struggled as much as he could, purposely trying to take as much time as possible. He glared up at Indoria when she spoke. "******** off." He snapped, fully intending to just be the biggest brat about this as he possibly could
Broken_Illumination12/10/2019 Indoria laughed. "Cute. But did you really think I wouldn't notice I don't have control over him anymore..." she smiled down at them before hitting the button. The machine whirred to life as ink painfully forced its way into his body.
Rasiel's eyes went wide beneath the mask as he scrambled to try to undo the restraints. But his hands slowed to a stop and he couldn't move anymore. s**t s**t s**t!(edited)
nepsah12/10/2019 Oh, ********. Des's eyes flickered to Rasiel, who didnt seem to be able to move. The ink - he bit his lower lip hard, trying to ignore the way it pulsed - most things didnt really hurt thanks to Kagyaku's little "gift"...
"Sonnet...!!" he called out as he tried to tug himself free using his own shadow for some extra strength.(edited) December 11, 2019
Broken_Illumination12/11/2019 Sonnet was nowhere to be found.
"She probably can't move either... Deskri... I'm so sorry..." Rasiel voice cracked with desperation as he could only watch the machine do it's work on Deskri.
The was sudden sound of a scuffle up in the loft and Indoria couldn't be seen anymore but something was definitely happening up there before Rasiel blinked and suddenly moved, reaching out to rip the attachments away from Deskri and tried to pull him out. "Hold on! I've got you!" he pulled him into a hug and backed away from the machine that just seemed to spit ink everywhere across the ground.
nepsah12/11/2019 Well, s**t. Des braced for the worst, but then suddenly Rasiel was able to move again. He allowed himself to be pulled out, clinging to the taller man.
After a moment he attempted to shift. "We have to get up there now. Its probably Snow."
Broken_Illumination12/11/2019 Rasiel nodded. "Hold on tight, I'll fly us up there."
Sonnet ran up, "Go on. I'll destroy the machine." she relayed before her eyes turned green and Suminku started to move the ink back into the machine to try to overload it.
nepsah12/11/2019 Des held on to Raz until they were up to the room Indoria was sitting in.
Broken_Illumination12/11/2019 Rasiel got them up to the loft and put him back down. The scene playing out was two against one. Indoria had Snow by the throat just before Alice punched him hard and knocking him into Rasiel and Deskri.
Alice looked to the three of them, her eyes completely black, as she took a step towards them.
nepsah12/11/2019 Des pulled his shadow up to cushion/block Snow. He looked to Alice, then Indoria and back again.
"Alice, you don't have to listen to her." Des said as he prepared for an attack.
Broken_Illumination12/11/2019 Snow growled as he tried to get up and attack Indoria but Alice grabbed him and knocked him back down to the ground.
Rasiel moved to grab Alice and tried to hold her. "Alice listen to me! We aren't your enemy. Indoria is using you. Please snap out of it!"
Snow looked to Deskri. "She can't tell us apart, go after Indoria."
nepsah12/11/2019 "Right..." he left Rasiel to take care of Alice. Looking for Indoria, he darted around the rest of the fight, shadow racing along with him to assist. The moment he thought he had an opening, his shadow rushed forward in the shape of many spikes
Broken_Illumination12/11/2019 Indoria tried to dodge him but with the amount of spike, some were bound to hit. Pinning her against the wall, she winced with a small noise of pain.
The sound of a small explosion erupted from the machine below.
Indoria growled with anger, "Enough! I will not be bestest by my own creations!!"
Suddenly, everything and everyone stopped moving.
"Do you really think killing me will save your friends?" Indoria hissed.
nepsah12/11/2019 Honestly, he didn't know. His shadow spread and raised, still partially pinning her. He'd never killed anyone - even with all the awful s**t he'd been living through since the original academy went down, he'd always just disabled attackers until he could get away.
Now he had her, sort of, and he wasn't sure if he could go through with it. "Creations? They have thoughts and feelings, they aren't ******** toys for you to play with. You're the one at the center pulling all these strings, what else would cut them loose?"
Broken_Illumination12/11/2019 Indoria glared at him, "They only have thoughts and feelings of the past. Do you want to linger in the past with them? Tell me, Deskri. Are these really the people you care for... or are you just caught up in the illusion that they're alive."
Her body wasnt bleeding, in fact, the spikes that pinned her looked like they had pierced through mud.
nepsah12/11/2019 "I don't know what they are!!" he snapped back, voice raised. "They arent my friends or my monster- they're something weird that lives only here but that doesn't make it okay for them to suffer!" Anger was flaring up again- hard for him to control.
"You're not even real are you?!" He'd noticed the odd look where the shadow had pierced her and it only served to fuel his anger. Another dead end. More cryptic answers. Why couldn't anything just be straight forward?
Broken_Illumination12/11/2019 "They are illusions of MY mind. My past, its how I remember them. But even my memories aren't my own." she frowned and she sighed, shifting to a woman with black hair and green eyes, pale skin and black feathered wings. "I am real. Well, as real as I can be without being the original." she explained. "You want to save your friends, I will have to cease to exist."
nepsah12/11/2019 This... Did not put an end to how angry he was. So she was Suminku, or a knock off one. "Where is the original? Assuming she ******** made you. And for what ******** purpose? To play pretend dictator?"
Broken_Illumination12/11/2019 "I don't know. But she's not here. Anywhere near here. I was not made by her. I was made by someone else entirely. I never knew my purpose. Only escaped into a world I knew only so much about." she explained.(edited)
nepsah12/11/2019 "Then who made you?" He didnt want to care about this. He wanted to just... End it here and leave, but something wouldn't let him.
Broken_Illumination12/11/2019 "A scientist from a research facility." she answered.
nepsah12/11/2019 There went that vagueness again. "WHAT research facility?!" His patience was truly wearing thin
Broken_Illumination12/11/2019 "I'm uncertain. I think it went by the code name chili pepper." She tried to give him the answers he sought.
nepsah12/11/2019 That... was about as much as he could take. He scrubbed at his face with both hands, still fighting the hesitation to end her. She wasn't even real. "Why do I have to kill you? Why can't you just ********... be a good person."
Broken_Illumination12/11/2019 "What does being a good person even mean when everyone around you is fake? They looked to me to give them structure, purpose, and peace of mind. And I gave them that! What more do you want from me!"
nepsah12/11/2019 He was probably being unfair but at the same time, he really didn't care. "No, you gave them misery! They were tired of fighting but you made them do some stupid royale only to totally take away whatever agency you gave them whenever they lost. I just-- ******** it. I hate this. You're not capable of becoming someone on your own, are you."
Broken_Illumination12/11/2019 "You are partially right. But also see it backwards. I never called the royales. They did. And when they called a fight, they fought. And the loser would become one with ink. I could make them stop fighting if I controlled them. I was doing the right thing! Don't you understand that?!"
nepsah12/11/2019 "They said you put the system into place." Stalling, stalling... he looked back to the others... "I don't understand.." He looked back to her. "I don't."
Broken_Illumination12/11/2019 "Of course I put it into place. They kept trying to kill each other. This way, no one dies." December 13, 2019
nepsah12/13/2019 He couldn't stall any longer. A decision had to be made - kill her and end it all, or leave her alone and the cycle would keep going. He hated this - really hated this. "Where was the research facility?"
Broken_Illumination12/13/2019 "....aldas." she responded simply.
