Strengths: Physically strong and coordinates ─ Has a solid reputation as a good kid

Personality ── Almost everything Ferris does is based on the principles instilled in him from his father. He's a child honor-bound to his parents first and a person second. He's extremely self-conscious about the image of himself that's portrayed to others, so he will do anything to make sure everyone has a uniform understanding about who he is as a person.

Always smiling to strangers and classmates alike, Ferris can be very personable. His sunny disposition has gotten him to befriend the popular kids in school, and that's where he likes to be. More often than not, when he's with people he calls friends, he'll adapt to their behavior and falls susceptible to peer pressure. Whatever his friends want him to do, he'll most likely do. He's putty in the hands of social sculptors. Even so, he does keep his aspirations in mind. He won't do any criminal activity, mostly out of fear of it affecting his chances of a scholarship. His desires to be more than he is keep him rooted in reality. Constantly focused and motivated, Ferris will often put his schoolwork and sports practice before any social situation.

If someone were to insult him, he'd likely shrug it off. If someone were to insult his family, he would likely spiral back into a violent reaction. While typically a nonviolent and loving person, the loss of his best friend has still left cracks in his soul that leave room for reckless reactions.

Family ──The only child in the marriage between tech CEO Walter Jefferson and his high school sweetheart turned bitter ex-wife Nashwa Gamal. While Walter's family has been in the United States since long before the Civil War, Nashwa was a first generation American─her parents came from Egypt. While their relationship in high school worked due to Walter willing to accommodate to Nashwa's religious rules, the fact that they were forced into marriage caused unsettled bitterness between the two. Shortly before Ferris was born, Walter was rising quickly up the chain of command of the small company that was growing into a multi-million dollar success. The man became more focused on his job than his new family, which didn't bother Nashwa entirely. What did bother her, however, was finding out when Ferris was two that Walter was sleeping with a coworker who was also married. While divorce wasn't part of her plan, it became inevitable as Walter continued his affair.

Nashwa moved out with the large portion of her alimony and Walter gained custody of his son. Shortly after his divorce, his mistress─HR representative Layla Sanderson─got her own divorce and ended up marrying Walter. Together, the two had one more child; Ferris has a half sister named Grace whose six years younger than him.

Bio ── Born into a broken marriage, Ferris' only true narrative on the situation came from his father. Raised to believe the marriage was altogether loveless and his mother never wanted him, it became obvious that Ferris would grow a strong attachment to his father. When Walter wasn't working, they would do everything together. The park, the mosque, the amusement park. In spite of his marriage troubles and strong work focus, Walter did everything he could to be an active father. It wasn't until Ferris was seven that he gained an affinity for baseball, but once he did, his father set him on the career path from T Ball to─one day─the MLB. Every game day, Walter was sure to be there to support his son. If he won the game, they would take the entire team out for pizza and the arcade. If he lost, it'd be ice cream and a lot of grueling exercise the day after. To add extra encouragement, Ferris' cousin Geordi joined him on the team. The two cousins were extremely close─likely due to being the similar age and hanging out every other day. Almost like twin brothers, Ferris and Geordi became a close knit duo who would have each other's back as they rose through the divisions.

If they weren't playing baseball or practicing, the two spent their time watching Star Trek (Geordi's namesake) or coming up with dance routines for whatever song was on the radio. Even as they became teenagers, the two boys stuck to a pretty similar routine. While Ferris loved their geeky pastime for the sake of spending time with his cousin, it was clear Geordi wanted to be an engineer. His room was full of Rube Goldberg machines, robots, circuits, and an unordinary amount of broken cell phones. While Geordi knew what he wanted to do with his life after baseball, Ferris remained stuck on the track forced on him when he was only a kid.

At the age of fifteen, Ferris decided to explore his full identity. His first notion outside of who he was when his father wasn't around came from a sleepover with his fellow teammates. While they were more interested in talking about girls, Ferris realized he was much more interested in a boy from school. He only confided the truth to Geordi, who promised to keep his secret if it would kill him. And one week later, on his way home from baseball practice, Geordi was surrounded by two police cars and shot for not being able to hear the police sirens from his headphones and sweater. As it turned out, a local store owner said a black teenage boy stole a box of candy bars from his store. Geordi was just the first black boy with a full backpack they came across.

Devastated by the loss of his cousin, Ferris organized a local protest without his father's consent. While the plans were to remain peaceful, local police spraying cannisters of gas into the large crowd caused confusion and confrontation. Ferris spent the night in a jail cell wiping the gas from his eyes and clothes. His father managed to prevent charges being pressed, but the anger he felt towards his son was unmistakable. It was one more mistake and he would be in the real doghouse.

The baseball team Ferris and Geordi were on together tried to go back to normal. While a few tried to make their sympathies clear, two other teammates argued that Geordi should've been more cooperative and dressed less like a gangster. Enraged by the idea that Geordi did something to deserve his death, Ferris ended up in a fight with his teammates. Kicked off the team, Ferris expected the worst when his father would pick him up. Adding fuel to the flame, Ferris came out as gay to his dad, who was already going to send him to his mother's to prevent further bad publicity for the Jefferson family name. Dropping Ferris off was the last thing Walter did for his son.

Living with his mother for the first time since he was a little boy, she was not what he expected. He expected a loveless woman with a strict regimen. Instead, he got Nashwa 2.0. No longer bound by a high school sweetheart and a loveless marriage with no income, Nashwa became a non-profit organizer in the local community for children of color to receive free tutoring. She herself became a teacher at the local high school once she went to college to gain a degree in history. Now, reunited with her son, she wanted to do everything in her power to make him feel welcome. But that was easier said than done. At first, their relationship was that of strangers. She would visit on birthdays and holidays, but that was the extent of their relationship. Add on top of that a teenage boy who just suffered several devastating losses at once and you have a major need for therapy. Which is what they did. Family therapy.

Two years into making a home for himself with his mother and at Shermer High, Ferris is back on his A game. Varsity baseball, AP classes, local volunteer star, and popular kid Ferris Jefferson comes off as exactly you'd expect. Confident in the high school hallways, avoiding anyone who could blemish his persona. He's still holding out, hoping he and his father can make up one day. It's because of this hope that he remains in the closet. He's willing to do anything to get his dad back.
