- After a long and hot Vykeli day, Noire wanted to just scoot home and curl up in the shade for a while. Traveling to and from Homewood was made easier through dousing, sure, but he was loathe to rely upon it when he still had a sharp memory for the landscape and paths taken. Instead of locating another body of water and treeshade, however, Noire instead turned down a dusty, noticeably less grass-soft path, and began to climb. The leather pack tied to his side jostled slightly with each step, not at all heavy but a subtle reminder of his intention.
Most noulicorn wouldn't need pretense to visit a friend, but this one did. Social calls...felt awkward on their own already, much moreso with someone like Rime. That was something Noire could appreciate about her: no fuss, no mincing words. The least he could do was the same in return.
By the time he neared the top of the outcropping, the sun had mostly set. Dusk was beginning, and he guessed it was his best chance to catch her. "Wake up, sleepy," Noire announced in the gruff, paternal tones of someone catching a foal napping when they shouldn't.
