Desert Sand was taking a day to ensure his herb supplies were well stocked. He had gone through quite a few during the pack's duels. It also gave him some time to calm and quiet his mind. The light tan male put his nose to the ground and to all the bushes. Not looking for scents of animals, but instead of plants.
Whenever he found a root he'd carefully dig it up. A leaf, flower, or branch was delicately plucked and carefully stored. He wrapped up everything in a careful bundle for carrying. Sand mosied along quietly enjoying himself.

WaywardSun had ran from his home not too long ago. He couldn't recall of he'd even stopped running since then or.. if it had just been endless. How many days had passed? Maybe it had been a long time. All he really knew was that as he wandered this new forest he could feel his stomach screaming for food and his limbs aching. They demanded rest, the cuts that had covered his flank making every step be followed by a small sting. He wanted to get far, though, far from those treacherous.. beasts. They didn't deserve the title of wolf.
Finally, a nice tree. It looked shady enough to allow him to get some rest, with enough roots for him to shuffle his way into if he needed to try his best to stay out of sight. He slowly swayed his way over, flopping down onto his side with a sigh. It wasn't a very intimidating sight, to say the least. He didn't even bother to stretch or air for any other wolves. By now, if any wolf found him they couldn't be more brutal than the ones he had just left.
What Wayward hadn't been expecting was the sound of digging and snapping of twigs and crunching leaves. It didn't sound like walking, it was more purposeful than that. His head shot up as he scrambled to his paws, making quite a lot of noise in the process. Oh, curse his clumsy paws! He would usually be quiet as a fly, but when he's so tired it's hard to keep his large body in check. He shrunk down to the ground, not out of fear, but more in fear he'd scare whatever may be out there.
"Hello? Is anyone there?" He called out. His voice was rough and scratchy, though there was no menace behind it, no fear either. Just.. tiredness. Seems the world didn't want him to get his rest, did it?

There was a rustle among the plants, but Sand just attributed it to him startling a hare or some such creature. He lifted his nose from the soil quickly when a voice suddenly called out. Crimeny! Where had they come from? He really should pay more attention to the scents of animals instead of just plants!
His ears flicked as he could hear the weariness in the voice. Something in it called to the healer within him. Sand sniffed and tracked the wolf scent until he came to a nice looking tree with a dark beserker crouched on the ground. He set the bundle of plants from his mouth on the ground and tilted his head at the wolf.
"Yes, I suppose that would be me." He could see some scratches on the other wolf. While Sand wished he had his herbs from his den, he'd picked some fresh today that would certainly help. Immediately he nudged open bundle to fetch a smaller bundle of green stuff. "Would you mind helping me a bit and giving your wounds a good cleaning?"

If it weren't for the strong scent of a wolf near by, WaywardSun might have just assumed his call had been out to nothing more than some rabbit or bird. If only he weren't so foolish! He didn't want to disturb any wolf, or get in any trouble. Maybe he should've said nothing and moved on. Maybe he could still just get up and leave! Maybe.. nobody would notice.
Just as he was about to rise to his full height again, a sandy white dire wolf came rounding the corner and he instinctively lowered down again. He didn't know this wolf, and he sure didn't want to frighten him. He just wanted to get out of here and get some sleep. WaywardSun looked him up and down. He smelled like.. forest, herbs, and.. was that other wolves? Was he not alone? [No! Your mind is playing tricks on you. You're alone out here..] He insisted to himself as he watched the stranger set down the bundle he was holding in his maw. Were those roots..? How strange.
WaywardSun noted the lack of fear in the other wolves voice and decided to rise from his crouched position to stand, though he kept his head lowered just slightly. "Hello...?" He didn't quite know how to respond to this strange wolf that had appeared before him. He hadn't known wolves to collect roots and leaves before.. what could he be doing with those? Help..? Clean his wounds..? He glanced back at his own flank, letting out a defeated whine. For such a large beast, he could be quite pathetic. "Ah, well.. alright, then, it seems I have nothing else to do.. Though, could I ask who you are?" His ears flickered slightly as he spoke.

Desert Sand smiled at the mild manners of this wolf. There were fierce beserkers living in his pack, so he was ready for a much more..... hostile or defensive reaction. This wolf gave off nothing of the sort. He chuckled softly. "Pardon my manners please. My name is Desert Sand. I'm a healer."
He found a suitable rock to use nearby and pulled it over to his packet of herbs. Immediately he nosed it open and started to pull different ones out. Sand glanced up as he worked. "You must have come far. Did something attack you?" He nodded at the wounds the beserker sported. If there was something dangerous near the pack he should tell his brother.
