Journey approached the monster hunter's lair similarly to how she had done before. There was a familiar feeling of what almost felt like a thread tied to her chest gently tugging her in the quest giver's direction. There were part of it that were different, though. She walked with a high and proud head, less trepidatious and more eager of what was to come. What tales did Kale have, this time? What wonders of the world was he going to point her towards?
As the wolf approached Kale's location, she sniffed the air. Had Lady gotten here before her? She felt as though she could catch the familiar scent of her friend lingering in these woods…
Journey's nose wrinkled. Damnit. Lady had gotten a head start. Her pace quickened and she hurried to Kale, tail twitching as she made an attempt at patience as he described the mission.
"I'll be back before you know it," she called with a wink. She turned back as quickly as she could and disappeared into the woods at a trot.

Amber shook her head. What in Kells was she doing back here in front of this crazy berserker? And yet, she found that despite her anger and frustration with him during his last set of quests, and her vow that she'd never hunt another monster for Kale Greenleaf ever again, she'd found over the last few months that she actually missed the travel and the excitement that the unknown can bring. And so she stood here, a low growl in her throat, certain she'd be irate with him before long once again but somehow powerless to stay away. It was a bonus that she wouldn't have two pups in tow this time around, it'd make it easier to stay focused on the hunt instead of keeping their safety foremost in her mind. She'd taken a few hits when they'd been in tow and knew she probably had some scars to prove it. This time would be different though and if she would admit it to herself...she was actually excited more than anything.

Ah, he'd heard of this mysterious Kale Greenleaf and the Monster Hunters before, but only in passing. His curiosity had gotten the better of him and he'd taken longer and longer outings from his pack to finally find him and try his claws at hunting. He figured he was a respectable hunter already, how hard could "monsters" be, anyway? And perhaps it would send him on a journey that would change his life, for better or for worse. He wanted to meet new friends, perhaps have a great love. Maybe he'd even run into a beautiful seer and try to get her to come back to the pack with him. Wouldn't that be a catch better than any monster! But the best way to start off on an adventure was to have some sort of intermediate goal in mind at the very least and so he decided to take a leap and follow whatever path lay ahead with this Kale's demands.
It had taken some convincing of the Elders to let her take this journey, although she wasn't unaccustomed to trying to persuade the Elders. Dangerous, reckless, and a touch selfish, this adventure was to provide information while also satisfying that itch Totem periodically felt. She had, for some time, satisfied it with visits to the Vilebloods (and a certain dark wolf who had caught her eye along the way), but eventually that content had turned into a mild and annoying tickle in her side. She needed something further -- needed to touch new soil and come back with words she hadn't yet spoken.
So when a traveler whispered about Monster Hunting to her, well, she was hooked.
At first it had been in the back of her brain; an impractical and senseless thought. She had duties to attend to, and leaving on some hunt was dangerous. Then, as she returned home from the Vilebloods, that thought shouted. Her pack was still rebuilding; still recovering what was once great. Her home needed safety, and what was safer than having an experienced Monster Hunter on their side? It was for her pack. Well, honestly, it also was for her.
The moment the Elders had sanctioned her request she left, sending a bird to notify Red Sparrow of her adventure and a promise of a trinket of some sort. She found Kale easily enough, grateful the traveler had offered some grand directions. She was even more grateful for her patience as Kale continued on before her.
"I accept," she answered. Of course she did.

Dark Skies had returned to Kale Greenleaf with enthusiasm. "Monster Hunter Kale Greenleaf." Dark Skies Bloodmoon gave him a deep bow as she arrived to the location. Her body shaking with and energy to get her mission done. Heeding the call of the Monster Hunter was what she had been hoping for and it had been some time. Though she had tried to continue even without his guidance, this was much much better. The question was the same question he posed when she had first arrived and she felt the jolt of electricity surge through her. It was both of course, but he was already moving onto the task at hand, in true Kale Greenleaf fashion to continue on with what he was saying.
"I accept this task that you give me." Dark Skies Bloodmoon stated matter of factly. She knew that he would give very little and have her figure out what it was that she needed to do. A whimsical location, not all that glitters in gold, and a river. Three major things she would commit to memory. Proving the existance of sparkling creatures. It would be interesting to see what these creatures were, but there was excitement to figure out what sort of monster this was. If it was a monster at all.
What an exciting task at hand. Not only to search for these creatures but to bring the proof. Just like when the Monster Hunters in training where tracking the past creatures. At least when she completed these she would be able to know and learn what these were. She wondered how many of her fellow Monster Hunters were on this quest and how many new faces would join their ranks. Maybe after her task she would seek them out to learn of their outcomes.
