The moon hung faintly against the dark sky as a cold breeze swept through the Coven, waking Raven. She was unsettled, not because of the cold, no... something else had caught her eye. In the distance, standing at the entrance to her den was the figure of a lone male, dark and unsettling. She slowly stood, doing her best not to wake her mate as she made her way outside, speaking in a low and raspy voice. "What are you doing here, Unravel?"
"Raven-" the wolf bowed his head as his duel-colored eyes flashed at her, one purple, one gold. "I wasn't sure you'd notice me." Unravel smirked as his eyes traveled along her lean frame. Though she was much older than he was she was still beautiful to look at, elegant - like a snake, her eyes pinned and wide.
"So you came to watch me sleep?" the female huffed as she circled the male, frowning at his words. "Does Hex know you are here?"
"She has no idea." he smirked, glancing over her shoulder and into the den she shared with her mate. "I came alone." the dark wolf would flex his shoulders before he sat, speaking again, this time in a softer voice. He didn't want to cause a scene.
"Forgive me for waking you." he started, eyeing her up and down. "I just wanted to meet with you alone, it's a bit hard to do that during the day..."
"I am not amused." she made sure he knew he was on thin ice before she sat, facing him, her wide eyes beaming down at his dark figure. "What is so important that you would wake me at this hour?"
"I've got something to offer you." he smirked, "-something extremely valuable."
"-and what would that be?" she scoffed, snarling slightly as the pale wolf flashed her fangs.
"Seers."
"Seers." the female repeated. "In what way-- "
"You've been unable to produce them, true seers. I can help you." Unravel's eyes never left her own as he gazed right through her.
"You are a fool." Raven laughed, the fur on the back of her neck bristled in disgust. "What would ever make you think I'd be so desperate?"
"You and Crow can't make them. You've tried and tried and failed. He failed you." the dark male frowned at her as she laughed, snarling back at her softly.
"I can give you seers. It runs in my blood like it runs in yours."
"Silence." Raven snapped before she quickly rushed to her feet. "You will not disrespect me in front of my home, in front of my mate. I should wake him and tell him what you are offering me." she gave him a wicked smile before glancing back at her lover's place against their warm pelts.
"He would slit your throat."
"Maybe." Unravel grinned.
"But you won't wake him, and you won't tell him. Deep down inside you know I'm right. You'll come to see it."
The white wolf quickly snapped at him, grabbing a hold of his neck long enough to push him down against the cold earth. Here she held him long enough to prove a point. She was in control here, not him, and if she wanted him dead - he would be dead.
"If I asked your sister to kill you, she would." Raven spat as she released him. "If I asked anyone here to kill you, they would. Never forget that. Never forget what you are to me."
The black wolf rolled back as she let go, snarling in anger. Blood trickled down his neck as he glance back up at her, his ears pinned back in anger. "You know I'm right. You can deny me all you want, you know what I say is true."
"Leave. I will not ask again."
"Fine-" Unravel slowly backed up, lifting his sight to match her own. "You'll see. You'll need me." with that the black wolf took off into the night, leaving Raven alone, standing in the moonlight.
"Idiot-" she muttered to herself faintly. His words echoed in the back of her mind as she moved back into her den.
What if he was right? His words would haunt her throughout the night. What if was never able to achieve her goal?
What if...
