Bonjour, a pleasure to meet you, I suppose. My name is Eveline Belmont, but if you consider us to be good acquaintances or perhaps friends to some extent then Eve or Evie is fine too. Ifrit was the alias I went by back when I used to work in certain kinds of… ‘businesses’, but I’ve long since left that identity behind along with my involvement in any of the sort. Arceus knows I can only hope since it’s not exactly the kind of work that takes a resignation letter so lightly.
My hair has always been described as a darkish red color, and my eyes are a bright green, though under the right kind of lighting they could almost be taken as emerald. You should know better than to ask a woman her age or her weight, those are two of the major questions in life you should never consider asking aloud~ But if you really, really, really must know I’m a young woman of roughly twenty seven years born on the twenty third of July, weighing in at about one hundred fifty four pounds and standing at five foot seven. Don’t think that makes me a lightweight, though, otherwise you’re in for quite the rude awakening~
Romance isn’t something I’ve ever been particularly focused on, I don’t give away my heart to just anyone who promises me flowers, chocolates, and valuable things and flattery only gets you so far. You could arguably call me pansexual as appearances hardly matter much to me so much as personality does, but while I enjoy a game of flirting every so often I don’t push such relations any further beyond maybe a mutual interest at best. As such I could be considered demi/greyromantic. Maybe under the proper circumstances and if I truly do trust someone I would at least consider pursuing that kind of relationship, but I’m certainly in no hurry to do so.

Personality:
Personality-wise, Eveline is self-reliant, sassy, stubborn, and passionate in anything she sets her mind towards, though usually she’s very casual and rather easy-going, and seems like someone who likes to enjoy the simpler, finer things in life. She doesn’t think herself as much of a people person, but as long as you seem easy enough to talk to and get along with and don’t try to start any trouble then she’s not opposed to having company around either. However, if you give her any reason to not be nice she’s not afraid to let you know. At best she’ll simply give the cold shoulder and a sharp glare, and at worst you’d get a wicked punch to the face and maybe a kick where it really hurts for good measure. She doesn’t take insults or threats lying down, if you snap at her she’ll snap right back, and she’s hardly above using brute force or threatening someone at gunpoint as she sees fit.
Trust doesn’t come easily to Eveline, as such she doesn’t make friends easily either. In her eyes, anyone and everyone is suspicious unless proven otherwise, and even then it takes a lot to be able to convince her. She has very few people she can reasonably call friends, and even fewer she considers best friends, otherwise good acquaintances is about as far as she’ll typically go. She tends to keep people at a distance when it comes to relationships, and for good reason as far as she’s concerned. With what few friends she does have, she’s unwaveringly protective, supportive, and stalwart. She doesn’t take betrayal lightly, however...
Having been an active gambler during her life and travels, Eveline has a strong competitive streak about her. She enjoys anything from a simple friendly spar to a high risk high reward game of poker, and having something to work towards and earn as a kind of prize is a good motivator for her. Making rivals for her is easier than making friends, since it gives her motivation to strengthen herself and her team and push herself further so she can surpass her competitor. If she knows they’re going easy on her, though, she’ll exploit it to her advantage to teach them a lesson. There are few things she hates more than being underestimated, and it’s hardly a challenge if she can simply win so easily. She tends to be a good sport if you can win against her fair and square, but if she knows you’re playing dirty she’s hardly above doing so herself. Anyone who thinks they can cheat her out of a victory has another thing coming...
History:
Born and raised in the glitzy, glamorous city of Lumiose, it’s no surprise that Eveline’s family were quite affluent even though they preferred to live a comfy, moderate sort of lifestyle as opposed to the kind of high life most wealthy folks did. She lived primarily with her mother and their governess and was homeschooled until she was about 16 years old and more capable of taking care of herself, though she did her best to support her mother however she could. She never got to really know her father, Samuel, too well, in person at least. Samuel was always traveling out and about around the world on business, being a successful lead scientist of Silph Co. during his years in Kanto. He came home only on very rare occasions, and even then he hardly stayed for long before he had to leave again. But he always made a point of bringing his daughter souvenir gifts from his travels whenever he could come home, and would send letters along with postcards from the various cities and towns he visited to check in with his family so it never felt like he was so far away all the time. During that time, Eveline took up her mother’s love of music and singing and taught herself to play numerous different instruments over the years. While she never had any kind of formal training, between being self-taught and practicing alongside her mother she quickly became quite a capable musician. She would spend most of her free time busking on the streets of Lumiose as a way to raise a bit of money for herself, and would even play card games with some of the local riff-raff she befriended.
However, as she grew older Eveline noticed her father gradually becoming oddly distant. He wouldn’t send letters and postcards as frequently as he used to, and whenever he did she couldn’t help but get the feeling that something was off that he wasn’t telling them. The letters came in less and less often until one day they suddenly stopped altogether. Days turned into weeks, turned into months… and after three months of nothing but radio silence from her father Eveline’s worry finally came to a head when her mother finally broke the news that Samuel had been declared missing. She became restless, spending more time outside of the house and often not returning home until it was very late in the night. Her mother and their governess still took care of her, but Eveline gradually grew more and more distant from them as she spent increasingly less time at home, trying to cope with the news of her missing father in her own way. And only weeks later Eveline received a call from their governess when she went to their home to visit her mother, only to find her laying stone cold dead in her bed upon arrival and most of the house ransacked. Jacqueline Belmont’s death was ruled a murder, but due to lack of evidence to pinpoint an exact culprit the follow up investigation was short lived.
Grief-stricken and furious, Eveline took whatever possessions she had along with her mother and father’s Pokemon, leaving home for the last time with no intention to return and soon leaving Lumiose altogether. With her family’s money and the funds earned from busking she reasonably had enough to live comfortably for a good couple years or so, but she’d need a way to be able to sustain herself in the long term. She made a name for herself as a traveling musician doing street performances, but the donations from those were hardly enough to make a decent living off of and as such she turned to gambling. She was quite experienced with poker and blackjack, even using some of the tricks she learned from her street rat friends to rake in large sums of money. Of course one ought to be careful with who they cheat out of their money, which was how Eveline met a woman she only knows as Roza, who’s worked with numerous crime circles as a mercenary and hitman for hire. Though originally intending to leave her for dead after punishing her for being cheated and tricked, Roza found herself intrigued by the young redhead’s determination and instead chose to take her in as her protégé and taught her the ropes.
Alongside Roza, Eveline did numerous stints as a hired gun, working mainly alongside organizations like Team Rocket, Team Magma, and Team Flare either aiding in their heists or keeping particular important assets under guard. She never had any intention on getting deeply involved with Team Void, however, in truth she’d argue that she was more blackmailed into it than anything else. It started when she was contacted by a mysterious man who she only knows as Doctor X, a high-ranking research scientist in Void who posed her a deal. He had information about her father that would surely be useful to her, but in return she had work for him and do what he asked, kept under surveillance by one of their own assassins so she wouldn’t get any funny ideas. Begrudgingly she worked alongside Doctor X under the codename Ifrit, accompanied by her ‘partner’ on missions to steal Pokemon for his experiments, collect information, and to silence any and all who would threaten him or Void. Months later, however, Eveline would ultimately choose to cut ties with the organization, erasing her name and as much information about her from Void’s files and databanks to cover her tracks. She took any and all notes she could find about her dad, Doctor X having erased most of them in the event something might go awry, and torched his lab to get rid of as much evidence as possible (and as a bit of petty revenge) before leaving.
Eveline spent the better part of about four months laying low, traveling frequently between places to shake off any would-be assassins that might try to trail after her. By chance, she found herself in Lumiose again for a brief period of time and visited her old home one last time before leaving it behind again, likely for good. While looking around the house, she stumbled upon a box hidden away inside a secret compartment in her father’s study, containing his final letter to her that’d been hidden away and a key to a house in Hammerlocke. With her father’s letter and key in hand and limited information to extrapolate from, she set off for Galar in hopes of starting anew and perhaps shedding some light on what happened to Samuel Belmont before and after he mysteriously vanished.
