Pale Raven x Ashen Crow
The stoic albino was never easy to read, and at times her expressions could frighten him. She was his muse, she had been his entire life. The one female he could love and protect without losing himself within her. Raven allowed him to keep his own identity outside of his loyalty to her, and she never asked him to replace parts of himself with her.
Raven never made him choose between her morals or his. This was why he loved her.
He loved her unconditionally and openly, despite her past and against his better judgement. He would love her always. Through all the fire and blood.
So when she told him he needed to mate with someone else for the sake of their pack, he did.
He would have done anything she asked him to.
“Raven-” the dark wolf spoke out as he moved to stand outside of his lover’s den. “-Are you awake?”
For a long moment silence lingered against the cold air, leaving the male wolf in a bit of panic. Had he upset her? Was she beside herself with grief? Not only had he been unable to give their bloodline a true seer, but his twin sons were now old enough to have their own feelings about life. She was not their mother, and though she would care for them like she would any wolf in the pack, she did not love them. They were not her children. Blood was everything.
“Raven?” he would ask again, this time stepping a paw into the darkness of her den.
Bright purple eyes flashed at him as the white wolf slowly made her way out of her den, stopping just at his paw. “Crow.”
“Can we speak?” the large wolf asked meekly.
“Of course. Come, let’s speak in private” she walked past him without even so much as a blink, heading toward her chambers. Outside the opening of the life tree stood Hex, the black wolf covered in scars. She nodded at the pair as they passed, bowing her head in respect. “My Raven. My Crow.”
“Hex” Raven smiled as they crossed paths, stopping only when the pair was completely inside the trunk of the large tree. It was hollow inside and a bit cold, but beside Crow she could still feel some warmth.
“What do you need, my Alpha?”
“Raven, please.” the large male sighed. She was annoyed, he could tell.
“I do not want you unhappy.”
“I feel nothing but joy for you.” the pale wolf glanced at him with narrowed eyes.
“Your sons are healthy and strong, and carry the right blood.”
“But they upset you?” he questioned with a slight frown.
“They could never upset me.” she stated back, turning so that her back now faced him.
“You did what I asked of you. I am only broken that the union brought us no True Seers.” the white wolf looked over her shoulder, speaking again, this time her tone was softer - as if she felt real remorse for the loss they shared. “I will give us Seers, Crow.”
“Raven…” the black wolf sighed as he glanced down at his paws.
“You don’t have to do this.”
“We can not make them together, Crow.” her words cut him a bit deep. “You can not give them to me alone.”
“But-”
“No, my love. I will do what must be done.” her mind was set and she knew he understood why. Together, between them they now shared five sons and no daughters. A part of her did blame him, a part of her knew that if she tried this on her own the curse would be lifted. She knew…
“I will uphold our legacy.”
