Laying her head down while basking in the sunlight felt good. She had started to doze off when something in the air caught her attention. Sniffing a little she didn't really start to rouse herself until the scent got stronger. Then she had noticed the male. His dark coloring with the lighter parts was very pretty, especially the swirls that stood out on him. Was he coming near? The female couldn't really tell from her laying position. Sitting up she could see him a little better, he was very easy on the eyes and seemed to hold himself with a good sense. Should the female call out to him and make the first move on introductions or wait for him? The latter is what she resigned herself to.
"Beautiful day for a stroll." Dark Skies called out.[285]

[101] PANIC!!! He was too lost in thought and was startled by the voice. Cursing himself for letting his mind wander too far. Initially torn between bolting for a nearby thicket and rushing the source of the sound which broke him from thought. He ultimately decided to respond as no one in their right mind attempting to ambush him would try in such a place or give away a position with such a statement. "Yes, very nice day." He replied. Hoping the female didn't hear the fading panic in his voice. He approached to get a better view of this newest diversion.

The female locked eyes with the male and searched for a moment. Was this one soft in the head or something? Maybe she shouldn't ask. "I'm not going to bite if that's what you're thinking." She went from the position she was in back to laying down in the grass. "I'm not hunting wolves at the moment." Dark Skies joked. She wasn't letting her guard down completely though as she laid there. A strange wolf who seemed pretty skittish was not exactly something she wanted to deal with. He was a male and he did look a little bigger than her even with her experiences under her belt she knew that a straight fight could leave her rather wounded.
With one eye the female watched him. "Monster Hunter, Dark Skies Bloodmoon. Introducing herself to the male. She hoped he would at least give her the time of day with his name but that was only a hope. Not everyone had manners like she did, nor did she expect them to have her manners.
The warmth of the sun continued to lull her into a sense of security. If you had told her that laying under the canopy of vibrant leaves on this beautiful day with the sounds of water babbling near her was going to have a handsome devil walk up to interrupt her, she would have scoffed. Dark Skies had picked a dang good spot that was remote, apparently not as remote as she had liked.[247]

[187] He had a sheepish look, as he came into the clearing. Still stepping carefully but more relaxed than just a moment ago, her attempt at easing him with humor at least partially successful. As he came closer and could better see who had startled him Son of Stone had to admit she had an elegant grace to her, the lithe build of a hunter, her title was fitting, he thought. "Apologies, you startled me out of my thoughts. I did not expect to encounter another wolf in this area, let alone one as attractive as you , I am Son of Stone." He said in the smoothest tone he could muster. His first interaction with another wolf in several months and he did not want to sound the fool but was quite sure he had already failed handily in that endeavor. Unsure of where exactly he had wandered in his distracted state. Despite her what he believed to be mostly friendly demeanor, he was prepared to be asked to leave, but to be honest he was hoping she would have him stay at least for a time.

At least the male was easing up a little and didn't seem like he was in fight or flight mode anymore. As he was coming closer she could see him better from her laying position and was actually really loving his pelt color, plus he was very handsome with the way the sun caught him. He looked to be someone who could hold his own pretty well.
"No need for an apology. I am the one who startled you as well. I was given a fright too but seems I don't need to completely worry." The female stood up on her paws, "It is nice to meet you, mind if I call you Stone?" her golden orbs falling to the ground. The compliment he had made her grin lightly. "What brings you out this way? As you can see this is a great sunbathing location."[145]

[124] Well this was going better than he'd hoped, seeing her reaction gave him a modicum of confidence. A bit of company to clear the mind, something which Son of Stone had been sorely lacking lately. She was easy on the eyes too, so perhaps things were looking up after all. "Stone is good. As far as what brings me out here? Well, I got to thinking about some things and just kind of let my paws take me wherever they wanted." He replied, hoping she wouldn't ask for too many details. "Though I'm not entirely sure where they have taken me this time." Stone started to space out thinking of how he even got here but caught himself before getting too deep in thought.

The female cocked a brow at the other, her golden orbs glancing over him again. He seemed like a wolf whose head was always in the clouds, which was fine, one could daydream but maybe not all the time. She did chuckle though, a very low rumble coming from her. He was adorable at least. "Well Stone, you have found yourself in the forest. In my special secret place I come to hide away from everything. Don't tell anyone." She sat up, "Stay a while. I wanna talk to you about your paws that lead you everywhere. See any amazing sights?" Dark Skies asked curiously. Maybe he had been to places she hadn't yet.[114]

[150] "So this the forest that I'd heard about, the stories don't do it justice." He said sincerely. Cocking his head slightly he thought back remembering anything worth mentioning that he had experienced in his time wandering, perking up with a start. "At the far end of the bluestone I once stumbled upon a massive den of bears, there must have been at least 30 of them all hibernating." Picking a suitable patch of ground to lay on he continued. "When we were travelling through the tundra, the pack saw the frozen remains of some giant creature at least five times the size of the largest bear i have ever seen, it had huge teeth jutting forward and four legs that looked like tree trunks." Stretching out on his chosen patch of ground, he looked to Dark Skies. "Have you seen any great wonders, Id love to see more of them."

She listened to his tale intently. That might be worth investigating if there were still very large bears about. Maybe even something to tell tales of if she could bring back something interesting. "Overly large bear huh." Her words seemingly tossed around as if she were weighing her options, "I'd like to hunt that. I have come across some interesting things.As I told you before, Monster Hunter. I came across a large talon once and some spikes. Never saw either creature and I was sent to find out some information on something twice as long as the shore. Not sure when I'll have more tales to tell but I'm always looking to hunt something down." She grinned at him, enjoying the company. Though she was starting to feel hungry as they laid there and talked, it was about the right time for food and she had sunbathed enough. "I'm sorry to cut this short," She interrupted, "I'm starting to feel a might hungry and my mind is wandering there. If you want we can hunt together, if you feel up for it and maybe next time we meet I may have some more stories to tell you about my other hunts."[201]
