Thanks for the suggestion. While we are/have been looking at modifying/combining/changing/deleting some forums such as the changes we made to the Anime/Manga/Cartoon forum and will continue to do so, our userbase's interests are way too varied for so few forums.

We recently added a new ad provider but there was a problem with it staying hidden. The bug should be fixed now.

Yes, we are under the shelter in place for all of California. We are in the Bay Area so actually have been under it for 16 days already. Fortunately, while we all miss being able to chat with each other in person, we can manage everything we need to remotely and have many channels of communication open between the multiple groups so we can keep everything running almost as smoothly as ever. Like with everyone in this situation it's different, and a change, but one that we are up to and will continue to do our best to make Gaia a place you want to log into and have fun with your friends around the world.

As a company Gaia had been working with different ad providers throughout the years. The advertising business is a strange one where different providers come and go, as their offers and amount of payout changes over time, making it hard to just stick with one provider forever. Yes we usually shop around for the provider which provides competitive rates, though anything to do with ad blocking was not an objective, but more of how the industry is moving towards as a whole. Unfortunately we are not in a position to ignore additional revenue streams, especially with the condition of the economy at this point in time. We will continue to look at different providers to hopefully find another provider with good rates and less impact of user experience.

Adding a sellback to the tickets would defeat the purpose of the gold sink. If someone doesn't want the tickets in their inventory, they can trash them!

We had moved the voting system back to the older code, but looks like there might have been some issues still. We will revisit and make sure it is granting the amount it used to.

Gaia has been great insuring our safety! We have all been working from home since the shuttering in place. It's caused a few issues (sorry last week's ATS!) but we have worked them out and hopefully should be able to keep going strong until this is over. We all are being safe and careful and hopefully you all will be too!

Company Updates have not stopped; there has been one every month since they started.

Are there any plans to remove the item locking (Hidden Equipped items) from Personas?
[Items equipped onto the Avatar cannot be equipped to Personas and vice versa]
The following is just my personal opinions:
Persona right now feel more hassle than they're worth, especially with the item lock.
I know Persona's are marketed as being for Roleplayers but the limitation of needing to buy exclusive/extra items for Persona's makes them frustrating to use. It also makes changing avatars and using the items locked on Persona's a hassle as u have to

Just to have full access to ALL ur items and make new Outfits/Persona's.
Aside from the unnecessary difficulty, this also locks out other opportunities of how to use Persona's.
In general, using Persona's only for role players looking to have a secondary avatar at the ready is a very niche market. However without the item lock it opens up a large degree of freedom to use Persona's in many unique ways.
Lets look into a few;
Expressions - By having avatars with the same base but with small variations (Eyes/Face/Arms/Legs), it's possible to make posts while also having ur avatar express the feeling u had while making the post.
Happy Avatar:

Angry Avatar:
"I SAID NO SPAMMING IN CHAT!"
Both being small variations of the Base Avatar:
Situational Roleplay - Avatars change slightly to better showcase the action the avatar is taking during a roleplay

Theses are some of the ways I've come up with, but I have faith there are many unique ways to use the Persona system that can appeal to the general audience, much more than just creating difficult to change, item locking roleplay OC's.
I personally believe that diversifying the ways people can use Persona's will help popularize them and drive more people into buying angel subs to make use of them.

For a while now I haven't been able to use my own inventory in Avatar Builder, it only allows you to use "Item DB (Default)".

I'm happy to hear you have thoughts on the shuffle issue, it's what I follow the most when you talk technically about what the constraints are! What does the 'reordering' exactly entail, even vaguely? That only dealt with the first part of my post.
Currently every item has a sort order number, and this number is re-sorted every time an item is moved. The current code handles a lot of the sorting on the client side, but the client typically only have the current page's inventory and sort numbers handy, and trying to sync between client and server is where the code started introducing problems, especially now that we have global stacking options.
Any future changes will make all the calculations on the server end to prevent any type of syncing issues.

Implementing sorting on either temp storage or a new storage box is definitely possible. Will just need to implement all the UI that goes along with it. We will add this task to the todo list.

I'm curious if it would be possible in the future to add a way to search your closet more properly as right now you can only change pages by repeatedly clicking on the arrow to change pages. It'd be nice if you could do something similar to a long thread with multiple pages and let you write a page number you have available and hop to that page. Possibly a way to search for outfits by either their name or item(s) equipped would be amazing as well, because right now I don't see any reason to even name outfits.

We will add a better pagination links to the closet. Search is definitely possible and we will look into implementing it also.

The trading system need an overhaul to allow stacking. Mainly it is the size of the data for each trade. A newer system will remove any data limits.

We are going to add more tabs soon and keeping the old tab system is going to be a problem specifically for that. I will ask the team about this or potential alternatives.

it's a firefox variant, i only use firefox-based browsers.

Kindred is using a different JS library. It uses CreateJS and Rally uses Phaser. We often debate the merits of each, cause, you know, we are geeks.

I just wanted to say thanks for fixing the flair problem and letting us pick 2.
It helped ease the annoyance a lot honestly.
The tool set in place is a nice option for future problems though and to be able to sub it for GC is even better.

Sure there are lots of reasons
On occasion there has been an error in why someone was banned, say someone hacked the account and the hacker is the one who did the deed.
People have asked to close their account and we do so by banning it to make sure it can't be misused while the person is away.
There are some things we are willing to discuss with people as to why they were banned and we are willing to take a look what went on and possibly unban things.
Sometimes people have payment issues which result in their accounts being banned. Once those issues have been resolved we are glad to unban the accounts involved.
Things we aren't willing to discuss as there is NO good reason why someone on Gaia should do this:
Harassment
Hacking
Phishing
Sexually Explicit Materials
There are probably more, but just dashing this off quick, so please don't take the above as a complete list.

Actually not, and it does the community no good to have people say things like that. Accounts get banned because of actions they took. The fact that the person committing the action may not think they broke the rules doesn't mitigate the fact that they did.

When you guys release the Tie Dye list every season, I've noticed a lot of schemes are way out of date with the picture you use. I was wondering if maybe going forward we could start seeing more updated avatars on the lists with newer items of the schemes? Because honestly a lot of schemes could turn people off with how old they look rather than what they look like nowdays!

When the images are made, the only schemes that receive new images are the new schemes or schemes that didnt previously have an image.
Making the tie dye list is already a task that takes quite a while for me so making new avatars or pulling promos for schemes that are already well established is too much extra work as most ticket users already know the schemes except for the newer ones.
Also users are free to look up schemes and see all the items a scheme provides whether new or old.
