She felt the sparks leave her hand and watched to see what 11 might do. A dodge would save her for sure. Even so, she didn't put too much into it to harm her too bad. So...what happened? 11 took the attack head on and was knocked down. Did she miscalculate her attack? Was she...hurt? Powering down, the Android felt a bit odd as if something was disturbing her.
Zeta approached the Android that lied on the ground, looking her over. She knelt down beside her, placing her hand on her forehead. "....11?" she muttered under her breath, a tinge of concern in her tone. Apparently it went unnoticed by their handler who made no comment on Zeta's brief show of emotion. In fact, it seemed he was busy checking something on the monitor and violently typing away. "Alright you two, head on back up. Zeta, help 11 if she cannot stand on her own" the man instructed over the intercom.
Without a word, the blonde wouldn't hesitate to pick 11 up in her arms. She would carry her to the elevator where they could return to the room with the chambers. "Android 11...are you alright?" she asked her, her tone returning to an expressionless one.
11 slowly slid out of Zeta's arms, her systems regaining function while her levels came back down to normal operating levels. "I am fine, Zeta..." Her tone was measured and barely emotive. What had just happened. What she heard. The fact that she wasn't shut down yet. There was more going on than she was going to let shown. Her systems would show normal, but it was going to be a 10 minute loop of before the fight. How long it would take them to notice was in the air. She knew she had a minimum of that loop of time to devise an plan and escape. Or should she? 11 still wanted to complete her mission. But what was her mission? Was she even the one in control? Did she hear a voice just now? Pleading to be let out? What was she doing again? Right, their handler had ordered them back upstairs.
Seeing 11 was ok was...good. Good? It was better than acceptable, though they wasn't quite the words Zeta though matched the situation. Once they returned to the "war room", she would no longer dwell on it. Judging by the doctor's expression, something was happening and that meant an assignment was possibly waiting for them. "Well...you two certainly aren't slacking in combat. Your restraint could use some work, but that can wait for later" he nodded his head, directing their attention to the screen behind him. On it would be a map of the world and several pings displayed on it. "Thanks to our updated system and newfound understanding of ki, our scanners are on another level- thanks to you two. We've detected spikes of energy popping up all over the region. However, you two will be sent to follow this Android reading in particular. Probably not one of ours, but try to recover it if possible. It's data would be valuable to us. You are to leave at once" he instructed the girls. Afterwards, they would both receive a file on the mission details via an upload. Zeta would salute her superior and then head out immediately. It seemed their target was in the ruins of Aoi City...
Months had passed, the head scientist hard at work with his feet kicked up, watching the thrilling soap "Young Love in the Restless Hospital". The show was just wrapping up when he got an alert on the computer screen. It read a status report on the condition of the Androids. "Ah. 11 and Zeta seem to be adequate enough for their next test run. As for-"“Professor! You might want to see this!” one of the other scientist in the room would alert the man, causing him to scowl. He was prepared to talk his understudy’s ear off for interrupting him...but the report he had to see actually stunned him. “...So it’s real.”
Following the mission to apprehend the foreign Androids, both Android Zeta and Android 11 returned to the underground lab and remained in Cerise's care. Their handler was disappointed in their failure in their previous mission. Zeta in particular was reprimanded for her actions and "properly punished". Rather than protecting her partner, she should have prioritized the asset. The Android knew that in the moment and yet acted otherwise. She couldn't rationalize why, but keeping 11 safe was important. Zeta spent those months going over what happened in her head as well as trying to recall any of her missing memories. Diagnostics continued to show her vitals were fine… In that time, they were instructed to train to increase their performance in the field. Every now and then they would be sent on small missions for the company. Today would be no different. Being woken from her chamber, Zeta would be greeted by the doctor who seemed to be in a jovial mood today. She said nothing as she approached the man and awaited orders, catching Android 11’s pod opening from the corner of her eye.
Once she joined them, the doctor would explain what they would be doing today. “Good morning! I just completed your latest check up and have deemed you both capable for work today. And today...you two will be searching for the Dragon Balls.” Turning to the screen behind him, he would snap his fingers and have a grid display of the planet come up. On this display were small orange blips that flashed on screen. Zeta stared at the screen, studying where exactly each spot was pointing out. Strange...what was this map about, she wondered. The doctor took a moment to look at this discovery before turning back to face the Androids. “Thanks to the intel Android Zeta acquired for us, we have confirmed the existence of these magical orbs. It is in our interest to collect them which is what you two will be doing today. And do be quick about it since we don’t know when the signals will disappear again” he instructed them. He would then push a button on a remote he took out of his pocket, sending a dossier to them both on necessary information on the orbs.
“Oh and just to be clear...failure will not be an option this time. If you can’t cut it, well...I’m sure we can find a use for you two yet. Spare parts never go to waste” he chuckled. With this, they would be dismissed to tackle the mission however they pleased. Zeta would salute and leave immediately, not waiting a moment for Android 11 to follow.
