GENERAL
- Over the decades, the noulicorns have managed to resurrect several animal species native to Vykeli. Without exception, these species are small, and include rodent-like mammals, frogs, salamanders, small lizards, insects and other invertebrates, and various small song birds. There are no large native predators (currently).
Fauna that are not familiars lack the ability to communicate with noulicorns via language.

They come in a variety of greys, blues, and browns, with colorful feathered crests.
INVASIVE SPECIES
When the Others came, they did not come alone. They brought pets and pests with them on their ship, some of which remained behind in Vykeli when they left. These have become nuisances - even dangers - to the noulicorns and their work.
CAT BEASTS
- Once domestic cats, now mutated by the alien environment to be twice as large and just as deadly. Cat Beasts are the worst predator of Vykeli, capable of taking down a young foal or an injured adult noulicorn. They are silent hunters and very dangerous. The boogey man of many bedtime stories.
DIRE RATS
- These are larger than your average rat, reaching a foot tall at the shoulder, with long, dangerous teeth. Dire rats are omnivorous and make quick work of vegetation left untended by the noulicorns. On their own, they aren't particularly dangerous, but in a swarm they are capable of a lot of damage.
