"WAIT! Um the lady said babies right? What if the other one is with the father? Shouldn't he have a say in the name if there is a father?"
It was partly because she really wanted to see night terror and again and partly because she had no idea what the heck she should name it. Like they had a theme, but did His family (assuming it was his, but who else had hooves?) a lot of minerals ended it Ite but Nightite just sounded like Night Light. Not a great name.
Hmm if they wouldn't let her go she supposed she would have to name it on her own. What was a stone related to night? Ummm Moon Stone? The moon came out at night.
Oh god what if Night Terror wasn't the father and she showed up with a random kid, Ahhh HE WOULD THINK SHE IS SO WEIRD. That would be the end of her romance. SOB
Laz glanced over at shah warily as she saw the mischievous glint in the rak's eye. Oh naming. Yeah they'd have to give it a name, can't just call it tiny or something.
She frowned when Pur brought up the 'father' idea "I don't know Pur, we don't have proof there IS a father let a lone it being a one you hope it is." Also if he had Hooves he was likely on the island some where, the city wasn't welcoming to faun types. Which made her worry about the tiny thing, what would the Squires do if they found out about it?
Kula had quickly mopped up the coffee he had spit up when he was choking on it. So he was slightly more put together when Tanz returned from the washroom.
"Ah I see, so it was a flour sack like Hyacinth was. What do you mean by super tiny?"

Shah raised a brow at her daughter's concerns, one she'd certainly not had when in a similar situation with the older ones. It was the reason each pair was so distinct - Aisha and Raabi'a were named by herself, why Laz Had named Purpuryt and Tanzanyt. She didn't think there was any reason to put it off, especially for the reason her boo pointed out. What if this 'Night Terror' wasn't actually the father? The kid came from a flour sack ; it could belong to anyone! She glanced back over to Laz, nodding once before tacking on. "Your mother is right - perhaps it will become more obvious as the thing grows, but it could be anyone. And you may never find this faun again." Not with the tension between their kinds. Heck, even the fact that Shah was still so infatuated with Laz may have been a pretty weird point. Maybe falling for the 'forbidden fruit' was genetic?
The Rak made a mental note to speak to Laz later about perhaps moving down into one of the towns for a while and laying low until the thing was grown.
"Maybe? I don't f-----g know." How was she supposed to know about things from before she was born - heck, this was her first time hearing she apparently was related to now 2 flour sack... thingies... She lifted her hands up to show the approximate size of the baby whisp. "I dunno, like this big? And it's got these weird antenna and hooves and wings and s**t. Doesn't look like anything ive ever seen before." Naturally, considering Tanz had never left the city before.

"Yes very good point!"
Pur quickly agreed with her parents, it was a terrible idea to show up with a baby and go ARE YOU THE DAD. He'd think she was crazy! Then she'd never get a date with him!!!
Pur handed the small baby to Shah and skipped over to the book shelf where they had grandpa noir's book of minerals. He used to draw them and make some notes on them, it was where they figured out the names for the most part.
Hmm now to find a good one. She hummed as she flipped through the pages.
Laz switched between hovering over the weird baby and over the book, she was a bit worried about Pur damaging it. It wasn't like they could make a replacement if it was ruined. Which caused her to pace in circles as she walked from pur to shah and back.
Huh had Laz never mentioned that? Weird, then again it wasn't like they saw Hyacinth that often.
Oh wow that IS tiny. Antenna and wings? Could it be a fae? ah but then hooves. How weird. "That sound's like a weird baby"

Shah reluctantly smoothly accepted her apparently new grandchild from Pur, waiting a moment for her to busy herself in the book of names before lifting the thing by the back of its next to turn it around and give it a good look. Given how small it was, she was able to pretty comfortably support its entire body in this way. Her eyebrow arched even more as she got a better look - what even was this thing?
Glancing over at Laz, she shrugged before motioning for her to come closer. Into her ear she whispered, "I think we may need to leave town, at least for a bit. Whether or not Purr's intuition is right, this thing is clearly related to the faun." Given her bonded was too, she could say this with certainty. And if it was related to the 'heathens'... "It shan't end well if we're found with it here." She tried to maintain at least a neutral expression, but the sense of urgency was evident in her tone.
With a calm smile, she returned the thing to a more comfortable position before smiling over at Purr. At least she hadn't lost her chastity.
Tanz nodded furiously. "RIGHT?! It's freaking weird af. Just like her." A pause. "Hey Uncle Kula, how come I wasn't invited again?" She had just gone full circle and reminded herself about her initial grievance.

Laz stopped her pacing as Shah spoke with her. "Yes I agree." Staying with that thing was asking for trouble, if it was anywhere as chaotic as it's mother they wouldn't be able to hid it for long.
It was unfortunate that the people of the city where so against the faun. The once she had met all ways seemed nice. There where all ways a few at the v-day parties.
Pur continued flicking through the pages of the book looking at all the minerals, talc, gypsum, calcium, quartz, mica and a lot of stuff that ended in ite. Ugh names where hard.
She paused on a page where several different colored minerals were drawn.
[Fluorite: A mineral found in many colors, many specimens are Fluorescence. Brittle, white streak and Vitreous Luster.]
Interesting so it had many different colors? Oooh Florescent that sounded cool! Florescent night! Ooooo that sounded so gooood!! Ahh!
Secretly she was still holding onto the hope that it was Night Terror's as well, after all who else had hooves at that party? She only remembered the centaur lady from the maze as having hooves too. No way it could be her, the baby didn't have that many legs.
"I think Florescent Night! Fluorite for short!"
She looked at her moms to see what they thought.
"Because I was on a date! Supposed to focus on making sure my date had a good time not keep you two from causing chaos!!"
They did cause chaos, everywhere they went, all ways having to one up each other or fighting.

"We should probably make plans to head out soon then, before anyone has time to settle down. Do you know anyone who would know where best to relocate?" Being true to her cat nature, when she wasn't performing on the streets, she'd kinda become a homebody. Outside of Laz's family and extensions, she wasn't particularly close with anyone here.
Shah offered the little thing to Laz if she wanted to try holding it.
At her daughter's declaration, the rak smirked a bit. Looked like she was trying to keep with a 'fauny' naming style, but it was pretty clever how she'd managed to combine it with the rest of the family's. Atta girl. "It sounds cute sweetie."
"But, like, isn't Venus Day always chaos anyways? And what good did that do you - doesn't look like you brought her home or anything..." as her voice trailed off, Tanz stood on her toes to try and gaze further into his apartment in a decidedly-nosy manner. Had he brought home a girl?!

"No not that I know of" Laz whispered back. "We'd have to find someone." She frowned unsure where to start looking.
Laz supposed she could ask some customers while she was selling her pottery. But how to ask without seeming suspicious. They couldn't just go 'hey do you know a town where faun hang out'.
She carefully took the baby from Shah. Fluorite hmm? Sounded good. "I think it's a great name."
Purpuryt grinned and carefully closed the book and placed it back on the shelf.
She was wondering what her mothers where whispering about.
---
Kulamani sighed. "yes it is usually chaotic, but this year was dangerous too. Venus wasn't there it was some other goddess then the two had a fight. "
He shook his head as tanz looked around to see if he had brought his date home. "No she isn't here Tanz we ended up going to a restaurant after the party." A nice safe restaurant with no fire or skeleton dinner parties or other chaos.

Shah had figured as much, but it was still bad to have it reiterated out loud. She lightly bit on the inside of her lip, her ear flicking, as she tried to think about where might be good.
Somewhere they could gather information.... Inconspicuously... Hmm...
Bingo.
"There's a tavern I perform at sometimes - it caters predominantly to the traveling merchants in town. If memory serves right... they should have a bulletin regarding trade route status and whatnot." And if not, it would certainly be the kind of crowd for them to weasel some information outta a pair of loose lips. That barmaid of theirs was a real vixen - she might look sweet, but she could get just about any information out of a patron of her choice with a few smiles and some 'free' drinks - Shah could probably strike a deal with her if it came down to it. "We could check as early as tonight, once the children are sleeping." Or pretending to do so at least.
"Oh my GUARDIANS Uncle Kula that sounds like SO much more interesting than being here last night. Ugh.... " She clicked her tongue at the new development, her expression very clearly showing her mounting boredom at how uninteresting he was being. "Whatever. I'm going home now. "A normal restaurant? Now that sounds like, omega lame - no wonder she didn't come back here. Isn't the place supposed to have a resort of something? You could have totally shacked up there." Excuse me young lady, who was teaching you these things?! Your mother would like a word with them.
"I'm like gonna go now. Later Uncle Uncool." With a half-wave and not waiting for a response, she turned tail to head back home.

"That sounds good." Laz whispered. "I'll ask Kula to come over when they are asleep in case this one needs anything." She said referring to the tiny bundle in her arms.
Kulamani sighed and shook his head at his niece. Kids where weird, she'd probably end up in fire and death land and be like OOO SWORDS. Grab one run around and get hurt.
If he was the uncool uncle did that mean Arc was the cool uncle? Or where they both equally lame in the eyes of Tanz?
