Formally Diamantin Delmar, renamed to Lemuria, after the hypothetical lost continent that is claimed to be in the Indian or Pacific ocean. Lemuria is a formally nomadic nova herd I formed around a chunk of nova I had but nowhere to really send them. So I developed their own place in the star world. I didn't initially have any intentions of opening it up to others...it was meant to be a catch all for the family line of Cassi and Xi and any loose nova of mine.

This herd is matriarchal, where the Sea Queen has the final say in all things. Her King Consort is her mate/spouse whom she'll breed with to produce royal offspring and possibly an heir. The King Consort is the head of the Krakens who are the warriors and protectors of the herd. The Krakens are predominately males. Priestess(es) over see the spiritual aspects of the herd, along with being the keepers of the histories and lore for the herd. They are the healers as well. Priestess are predominately females.

The herd is based on a deep sea location in the ocean. The formations of rocks around here are breathtaking as they spiral and rise up from the ocean floor. Through dedicated work, the novae of this herd have also carved, moved and encouraged the rock formations into even more complex designs, hollowing out homes and rooms, halls and creating a vast home for themselves in this city under the sea. Strange bioluminescent plants and small animals help light up this world and others create colorful seascapes that are nurtured and cultivated by the novae. Monuments that pay homage to the water signs have also risen among the sea homes. Though other signs are praised as well since they understand that even beneath the waves; fire, air and earth have some sway over life.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As for lore and how they celebrate things...well I don't know. I would like to get more people in on this so we can figure stuff out.
Lores | Rituals | Religion
Being deep sea nomads, the herd depends heavily on the water signs for their blessings. But being nomadic, it makes it hard to have places to worship their sign deities. They do, however, travel between two main places. So it's in these two places that the lemurians have built shrines to leave gifts for their deities and to pray.
Newborns are blessed after all have been born and receive their names.
Before the first migration of their life is a sort of coming of age celebration.
Lemurians who wish to mate for life are celebrated in a sort of marriage ceremony.
-more to be added-
Protecting the Herd
While this may be a matriarchal herd, the stallions are just as important. They help support their families, they contribute to the herd expanding, but they are also large and beefy bois. Like orcas, the stallions travel on the outskirts of the herd, forming a protective barrier and first line of defense against outsides, sharks and other large predators that could take down the weak, sick or young. These big, beefy bois are called "krakens" named for the monster octopus god of the deep.
Not every stallion has to be a kraken and those that choose not to be will travel closer to the herd or even with their family or close friends.
The krakens answer to the Sea Queen, they see the king consort as one of them except that he travels and breeds with the Queen.
The Nomadic Life
While the herd is generally nomadic, they are moving for only about half the year. They are traveling between two important places in their lives. One is a feeding ground where they stay to fill up on rich foods and pass the winter season in. The other is where they go so mares may have their babies safely in warm summer waters and to help their young build the necessary muscle for the rigorous travel.
Warm waters are leaner in food sources but not bare, it gives foals a chance to learn to hunt smaller prey, build muscle and learn the ways of their herd. It also allows for everyone to offer up gifts to the water signs (their deities) from their travels between territories, but also to pray and for ceremonies to be held.
On the opposite hand, cold waters are rich in food and give now bigger foals a chance to hunt in a group and learn to take on much larger prey. This is where everyone really packs it in for leaner times in the summer territory. Bonding with other lemurians outside their immediate family is big during this time. There are also shrines here for those who wish to pray again, set out gifts and also ceremonies.
Traveling between the winter and summer grounds falls heavily on Cassi or current Sea Queen. Picking the right route to ensure safety and food is important and usually something a future queen learns year after year of traveling. Anything can happen between their resting territories.
