I finish Wolverine #40. I look at the previews page. I see ol' Logan's getting two titles now. I am excited. Then I see Steve Dillon (of Preacher fame) is doing the art. My dreams are crushed.
Steve Dillon's art is the exact goddam same in everything he does. Bulbous noses, eyes worthy of the most inbred, crack-addicted Down's Syndrome patients, and teeth that would make the baby Jesus not only cry, but do a ******** ninja somersault and snap the neck of the jackass king that brought him perfume.
I'll read it anyway. I just won't be happy.

Mr. Scott Summers Buy nextwave and say no to Wolverine. Pfft, I've already devoured Nextwave about a bajillion times already. I've got to have my obligatory whore-tasticly mainstream comic fix, too. Dillon's work: http://www.blackbeltjones.com/gf3.jpghttp://www.2000ad.org/thrillpower/preacher.jpgIf you can find a copy of Ultimate X-Men 58, take a gander at his Nightcrawler. Made me want to throw things. Heavy things. At people.

Jarvis the Butler Pfft, I've already devoured Nextwave about a bajillion times already. Bloody hell, finally someone else that is enjoying it as much as me around here. I dunno, Dillon's work on Global Frequency didn't bug me, but comic art can be a very subjective thing once you get past the really obvious s**t like oh I don't know... Rob Liefeld. For that sort of style I much prefer Gary Erskine to Steve Dillon, but I can handle Dillon.

That art looks really familiar to me...
Anyway, unless it's HORRIBLE or unfitting, I don't really mind art...

For I am full of very useful devices.

A break off group of H.A.T.E., lead by Dirk Anger, which is a branch off group of the Beyond Corp. which is a hidden terrorist group that is testing weapons of extreme mass destruction on American people which Nextwave has sworn to fight. They have a guy named The Captain and a robot man.

They have a guy named The Captain and a robot man. Unusual weapons of wass destruction, Creed. And the robot man is Aaron Stack, a.k.a. X-51, a.k.a. Machine Man. My hero.
