Different to Choir, Band, and Musical Theatre, Music Studies is for students who wish to teach music to others later in their careers. It combines all of the skills of all three units under one, but includes more theoretical work and analytical essays on the subject rather than relying on practical assignments. It is not a subject many students undertake for that reason. Students who undertake this unit are given the tools to understanding the history of music, how to work the technologies of music, and how to produce music (although music production is also taught in Band).
