Description
___These creatures originate from many different cultures from around the world but most have died out. The last few remaining are from Western Native Americans. As such, they will have that within their near ancestry. Skin Walkers start off seemingly human but as they grow, so does their ability to mimic another person. At this point, a Skin Walker can assume the physical appearance of whomever they have been learning. The process, however, is seemingly painful as they have to shed their own skin in order to take on someone else's. And to turn back into themselves or another person, they have to repeat the process. It would seem that taking on the form of an animal is much the same - their body reforms and changes into whatever animal shape they've learned.
Status
___Rare. Despite a skinwalker's longevity, their fertility rate is extremely low. As such, most skinwalkers have died out from around the world. There are maybe only a dozen or two left alive today and almost all have Western American Indigenous heritage.
Supernatural Information
___Human Mimicry - They are able to take on the appearance of any human that they have studied. They have to know how the person moves, sounds, and behaves. And then they have to ingest a large sample of their DNA - a large amount of hair, bodily fluids, or flesh would do the trick. Once that's complete they can turn into that person. This is a process where skin, bones, hair, nails, and all the rest of their body grow from under their current skin within the timespan of ten or fifteen minutes. They need to remove the old, outer layers of skin and other such body parts in order to complete the transformation. Once they have they smell, sound, move, and feel like the person that they've chosen to mimic.
___Animal Transformation - To be able to transform into an animal, a skinwalker has to study the animal. They have to know how it moves, sounds, and behaves. Then they have to consume that animal. Their body changes into that animal much in the same way they would another human being.
___Longevity - Once a Skinwalker has changed into another person or animal, they take on the age of that person or animal as well. As long as they keep shifting into other creatures that are younger than it's current form they can maintain their youth indefinitely.
___Healing - Skinwalkers possess the ability to heal up to five times faster than humans. However, anything that would kill a human (or the animal they've shifted into) would most likely kill a skinwalker as well.
___Senses - They take on the senses of the creature's form they're shifted into.
___Supernatural Mimicry - They can not gain the supernatural abilities of another supernatural. They can, however, make themselves look, smell, and sound like that supernatural creature.
___Sex Expression - Once they've shifted into another sex, they take on all physical aspects of that sex for the duration they are one. This means that a Skinwalker can be a Male one day and a Female the next regardless of the sex they were born as.
