Angels are different from the Valkyries, but they both possess similar abilities in Holy Magic. Angels are those from Heaven who descended to Istrea to help the humans, and they decided to remain there to keep the demon race in check. They took Erelandra as their home, ruled by their leader and the Valkyries as the council. They are a near-immortal race, like the demons, who use their magic to help those they can. However, most Angels have not left Erelandra in centuries, unless it was to thwart Demonic plans. They do not let outsiders into their land without a guide and permits, and any demons are turned away or imprisoned. They are beings with two sets of wings, as the Valkyries gave up their extra set in return for powers bestowed upon them by the Gods, something many Angels are angry over, as beings stronger than them are "less pure".
The Angels and Valkyries both follow the Holy Twelve Gods and those who waiver from the faith are imprisoned until they return to the correct faith. This ideology is shared by the demons, something Angels despise being told. Angels and Demons do not like having anything in common. The Angels live a life where there is no class difference, other than those chosen to act as the government (which is changed every year, or when someone needs to be swapped for another person better suited to a role).
The only time foreigners are allowed into the land with more leniency is during the annual Festival of Magic, where Magic Folk come from all areas of the land to participate and see who is the strongest of all. Those with demonic blood are kept from the borders by use of a magic shield, only allowing other races within the land.
Angels possess access to Holy Magic; in which they have to sacrifice something in order to heal and use magic that alters dark magic. With each spell that they use, they use their own life-force and risk their own life to save another. Smaller spells do not take a huge toll, but multiple spells back to back or powerful spells can leave them at the risk of death. They can give themselves more life-force by living on a diet rich in nutrients and lacking βheavy foodsβ like meat and carbohydrates (a vegan diet, in a way). The downside of this is that they lack physical strength and energy as a result of the diet that gives them more life. Other Angelic abilities that no normal Holy Magic user can use includes; Curse breaking/Purification, Blessing, Light Manipulation, Healing, Dream Walking, Near-Immortality, Resurrection, Astral Projection, and Empathy.
