BIOGRAPHY:
◆ Viviane was born to a noble French family. She spent her childhood learning all the proper feminine arts, including all of the proper languages. By the time she was sixteen she was accomplished enough to Come Out into society as available for marriage. An English Marquis visiting France at the time offered a generous bid for her hand. Her father accepted and she was shipped off to English with her new husband.
◆ Her married life turned out to be interesting. To start with her aging husband, Wilfred, was of another disposition in the marriage bed and simply wanted a wife to decorate his arm to avoid suspicion. Aside from that he wasn't under pressure to produce an heir as he already had two boys and a girl from his previous marriage. Wilfred was generally kind and taught her how to run his business while he was away on one of his many trips.
◆ Wilfred parrished from old age - or so the obituary notice said. In reality his heart had given out on one of his many trips. Thankfully before he expired he was able to will Viviane a good chunk of his business - all of his holdings and dealings in the Americas. After having suffered under the untoward gaze of Wilfred's first son, Viviane gathered all of the papers and resources willed to her by her late husband and boarded a ship for America shortly after turning seventeen years old.
◆ Now, recently arrived to America, she has chosen to take up residence in Anne's Town. It was more appealing than Boston as it would truly give her a fresh, more independant start.
HOBBIES/SKILLS:
◆ Languages - she knows French, English, Spanish, Italian, and Latin currently.
◆ Needlepoint and sewing - a skill that every lady spends her time learning
◆ Penmanship - after all, to have a messy hand would have been a disgrace to her status
◆ Reading and Writing - goes hand in hand with language and penmanship after all.
◆ Arithmetic - she learned the basics growing up but learned a great deal more in the year that she was married.
◆ Knowledge of Geography - Something that her husband taught her.
◆ Dancing - that was how she attracted her husband to begin with.
