Kanja smiled and let go of Padparadsha's wrist. "That might be best. Go for the smaller fish for now. But I've been watching you genomes. You grow as fast as I do, so I am sure you'll be as big as me in no time." He didn't know how tall he could get, or how tall Padparadsha would be, or his other friends either. It would be exciting to see.
"OH!" his attention was drawn to the shore. "Your pole is moving." He pointed to the fishing pole.

Padparadscha nodded when Kanja agreed with him. "I'll do that then." He watched the fish and spotted a smaller one right away. But he listened as Kanja continued to speak. "You think I might be tall like you? Like Argent?" he asked. It was hard to imagine him being tall. "Maybe just a little bit tall would be enough."
When Kanja exclaimed, he turned quickly to find his pole was indeed in motion. He forgot himself just long enough to trip and fall into the water. This scared all the nearby fish, including the one on his pole, and with one great tug the fish on the line was gone. Padparadscha tried to glide through the water and managed to move pretty quickly, but he was too late by the time he arrivevd. All that was left on the hook were some pieces of water weeds. "Well, it hasn't been nearly as boring as I thought it would be." He smirked and went back for more bait. Might as well keep the pole stocked with worms.

Tall like Argent, hm? The adult genome was pretty tall, and Kanja literally looked up to him. But before he could say anything, Padparadsha had dived into the water and scared all the fish.
"Aw, it looks like it got away." Kanja pouted a little. "Well, I suppose if we want to have lunch, I'll catch us another fish. If you can gather some wood for a fire? We can try and roast them." He walked out of the shallows, then turned and smirked. "By the way, you're ok, right?"

Padparadscha was sopping wet. but he was happy enough that he wouldn't need to bait the hook again. Kanja made catching fish seem so easy that he was happy to leave capturing a second one to him. "All right." He started to put his gear away, yanking the pole free of the ground and wiping the end free of debris. He looked up at Kanja and chuckled. "Yes, I'm all right." Then he got out of the water and went looking for some kindling. Starting a fire he knew how to do. Of course it was another skill that required patience.

"Great!" He grinned, then turned and jumped back into the water, showering the shore with a few droplets of water. He had decided to catch a big fish, returning with one probably twice the size of the one he had caught earlier. By the time he surfaced, Padparadsha had a fire going already, and together they cleaned the fish and cooked them.
All in all? Kanja didn't mind the rude awakening of this morning, because he met an interesting new friend. He couldn't wait to see what tomorrow would bring.
