Periwinkle rubbed his head with one of his hands, hoping that whomever he was supposed to meet today would get here already so that he could leave this “date” and go back to his work. Sure, he was almost done with tilling and planting and all of that “fun” stuff, but that didn’t mean he wanted his work interrupted right now, even if he could use the break.

He was still getting over Megan a bit, the both of them having realized that they would be better friends and not anything more than that, and he had thrown himself into work as soon as the weather had allowed. He couldn’t keep concentrating on a slightly broken heart when there was work to do!

Which was why he was annoyed when his friends had suggested setting him up on this “blind” date. And the reason he had gone was he couldn’t reject the girl if he didn’t know who she was in the first place, so he would have to do when she finally came. Still, he was annoyed that he had been set up in the first place. He knew his friends meant well, but this was too much. I’m going to charge them double for any pumpkins. He thought to himself, a slightly grumpy look on his face before he sighed and looked at his phone again. He was early, but he was hoping that she would be here quickly so they could both get this overwith…

Lady Angel Heart

Primrose stepped into the entrance of the restaurant. This might as well be blackmail. How dare her friends keep her from taking on new clients, not that she would be on the streets without them. Still, not only did they take her work phone and lock her out of her studio.. but they say the only way they will return it is if she agreed to a blind date. If she ever wanted to get back to what she loved she would have to give this a chance.
-
She couldn't remember the last time she dated someone.. perhaps back in senior years? Its not like she was committing to anything...she just agreed to meet this guy. Prim had said seen many fairytale endings at the end of a white velvet path. In that sense it does leave one yearning for some sort of companionship. She did one last check in the restroom, straightening her dress and fixing her hair. First impressions and all that.
-
She was early, so she was surprised to hear that the person she was to meet had already arrived and had been seated. She had expected to sit here waiting for the next 10-15 minutes. The hostess picked up a second menu and ushered her towards the table. Prim really wasn't sure what to expect but now she was nervous.

SSBrosB

Peri looked at his phone one more time. Only a minute had passed, and he sighed a bit louder this time. Sure, it was still early, but he had a politeness obligation to wait until at least 15 minutes after the meeting time for his “date” before he was allowed to leave, and this was taking forever. And he actually was starting to get hungry now, which meant that he could wait and endure the date for the whole time or try to slip out when the wait time was over and then head somewhere that he could actually get a bite to eat.

He looked sadly at his phone, mentally wishing that time would move faster, when he heard a bit of a commotion. He heard the hostess saying something to someone, and he looked up to see who it was.

He almost felt his jaw drop at the woman who was being led by the hostess towards his table. At least, he thought it was his table. He hoped? He didn’t know, all he knew was that he somehow had to keep himself from turning any more purple than he already was.

And then the hostess actually lead her to his table. He felt like he was going to die inside. At least he had mentally been complaining rather than out loud, otherwise the gorgeous bunny in front of him might have heard him. He straightened up a bit and smiled at her, though he felt that it was pretty unnatural and definitely signaled that he was feeling extremely nervous at this point.

Lady Angel Heart

After thanking the host, Primrose sat politely down the table. She was surprised to find that her date was of similar mutation to herself, another bunny. And to top that he was wearing a buttoned vest, very formal. Perhaps he had been quick to judge someone she had yet to meet. She supposed he was pretty cute. Well, she was here now so she might as well make the most of this.
-
Prim smiled and held out her hand in greeting Primrose, nice to meet you. Seems we were both put in quite the predicament. At least they had the decency to chose a place with good food. I've gotten catering from here before. They dont disappoint"

SSBrosB

Peri took a look at the outstretched hand, back at “Primrose”, and back at her hand, before slowly taking his hand and shaking hers. “Uh yeah. I’m Periwinkle. It’s nice to meet you too.” He blushed at the name. “I usually go by Peri.” He said, before letting go of her hand and taking a deep breath, before letting it out. Well, she didn’t seem that nervous, which meant that he could relax. At least he could try to enjoy the food while he was here.

He smiled. “Yeah, apparently I’ve been working “too much”.” He said, finger quoting for emphasis. “So it seems we were both set up on this blind date. But if this place is as good as you say, then I’m looking forward to eating here.” He said, opening up the menu that he had finally been given. Apparently, the host had heard about Peri through his friends and had refused to give him a menu until his date had arrived. “Catering? Was that for work or something?” He had never gotten catering at his farm, though when he did have parties, they were potluck with a lot of pumpkin in various dishes. Nine help you if you were allergic or didn’t like pumpkins. There would be a lot less food for you to eat.

Lady Angel Heart

"Peri huh? well then I suppose you can call me Prim then, save the formalities." She opened her menu and skimmed it briefly with her finger. She already new the set up by heart but that tends to happen when your friends with the owner.. and order from here frequently. "Yeah. Said I am too focused on other people. I'm a wedding planner focusing on other people is my job."

SSBrosB

“Prim. That sounds quite proper.” He gave her a grin. “Really though, it fits you.” He said, taking another quick glance at the menu before deciding on a salad and a main veggie dish. “Wedding Planner? That sounds interesting!” He was intrigued now. “Though I assume that sometimes it gets a little crazy right? I’m a pumpkin farmer and own my own farm with my sister. It’s large though and we finally got enough money to build a couple of greenhouses so that we can grow pumpkins and other gourds and vegetables now.” He was quite proud of it. He hadn’t expected to get it that big, but now he even had his own workers! Though he still spent a lot of time outside himself. Some things he just needed to do himself!

Lady Angel Heart

"Heh my mother prefers to call me Rose but i like Prim better." She decided on her favorite pasta dish. She knew eventually the waiter would bring them their signature garlic cheese biscuits so pasta would be a good follow up. "It has its moments of chaos. People are an unpredictable variable." She paused and tilted her head "So.. like a pumpkin patch? I remember going to those when I was younger. Though these days we usually just buy pumpkins downtown at the farmers market. Its an honorable trade. The world needs people willing to work hard like that."
The waiter then arrived to take their orders, get drinks, and deliver biscuits. These biscuits were her favorite part of the place. Large, fluffy and full of cheesy goodness. She instictively took 2 and sat them on her bread plate. "oh sorry you probably want some too. my bad" She grinned sheepishly offering Peri the bread basket.

SSBrosB

“It sounds like fun chaos though. Or at least has some entertainment value out of it. The type of chaos I get results in lost crops. But hopefully switching out the types that we grow will help with the soil keeping nutrients for the next set. And I hope the greenhouses won’t get destroyed by an act of the Nine or nature or what have you.” He nodded, quickly giving his order to the waiter too. He would have to get the pasta next time.

“Yeah, we have tours and people can come and pick their pumpkins for carving or eating, etc. in the fall. We sell at the farmers market, but a lot of our deliveries are to other places, so they can make food dishes out of them.” He blushed at her hard work compliment. “Well, I think being a wedding planner is good too. I’m sure a lot more people could use it and there might be less disasters.” He said, chuckling at the memory of one of his friend’s. Somehow the cake had ended up on the ceiling, and not by magic.

He glared jokingly at Prim when she took both of the biscuits. He knew he could ask for more, but he couldn’t help but smile when she offered him one. Honestly it was cute. He took one and set it on his own plate. “Well I’m sure we can ask for more. Maybe we can just fill up on these biscuits instead. Though, if there happen to be any leftover by the time we leave, we can take those too. You know, ask for “extra”.” He winked at her. What was it about cheese that was so addicting? Everything. Everything about cheese.

Lady Angel Heart

Prim laughed "and me here without my biscuit smuggling purse. Its far too easy to fill up on these. They sell them in the freezer section but nothing beats getting them right from the source. If you ever get a chance to take some to go do it." She tears one of the biscuits in half steam rising from the fluffy inside. A couple bites later she continued. "I've saved my fair share of special days. Theres always some minor thing that acts like it will be the end of the world. Always have spare gumpaste flowers in case of cake disasters and a sewing kit for dresses gone rogue" she noted.
"I'm sure being a farmer you must have contingency plans for mini disasters. Seems small problems have a much large impact on a lifestyle like yours."
She started on the second half of her biscuit. In truth outside of her own and her parents' professions she didnt know much about what other people did.

SSBrosB

“At least you have a biscuit-smuggling purse. I’d be too obvious bringing in a bag or backpack.” He said, sighing at the thought of getting the precious biscuits. He opened his biscuit, but let it cool for a bit before biting into it. “At least it sounds like you’re prepared in the material department. I’m sure there are some… attitudes that aren’t quite expected at times.” He couldn’t imagine some of the people going crazy. He had been told that it happened though.

Nodding, he took another bite of the biscuit and finished it before continuing. “Yeah, we do what we can. We make sure to keep an eye on any news reports and have someone who pretty much keeps track of the weather around us 24/7. Then of course money needs to be saved in case any equipment breaks down. You might think that we’re rich or something with such a large farm but most of the money goes back into it rather than into our pockets.” He blushed as he realized what he said. “Not that I think you would be concerned about the money or anything! I just meant that having a large farm takes a lot of work, but a lot more money unfortunately. I’ve even had to learn how to repair some of the equipment myself.”

He still felt bad about the comment though and put his biscuit down. “If you want, you can come check it out sometime, though I’m most likely going to be working, but we do have tours and freshly picked crops that you can eat.”

Lady Angel Heart

Prim tilted her head listening intently. "Makes sense. Plants aren't like props.. you cant just put them into storage.. you have to keep up the supply. I always wondered how florist kept up with all the pieces they would need for bouquets. Similar concept I'd say". Hm.. Rich? Not really. The idea of being a farmer and being wealthy aren't something she would normally associate. The fact this man put so much effort into his job was impressive. She admired a strong work ethic, especially one that was self taught.
-
"I wouldnt mind seeing it. The way you speak of your farm it sounds pretty impressive. Shame you only grow veggitables. I could always use more floral suppliers. Though if I ever need pumpkins it seems I now have a source" She smiled softly.

SSBrosB

Peri hadn’t really thought about it, but what Prim said made sense. Or at least it gave him the idea of maybe selling some flowers… no, he needed those. It would be harder for his crops to grow if they didn’t have their flowers too! “Well, I can schedule you for a tour then. I can give you the tour but I’m not available as much as I would like to be so it might be a bit hard to get in, but I could give you a discount.” He grinned.

“Yeah, we have plenty of pumpkins for all of your pumpkin needs. And a large farmhouse for events. It’s kind of surprising how many people want to use a farmhouse for stuff, but that’s the way it is. We don’t really use it for anything else since it is just a vegetable farm. We don’t keep animals on site except for a few Vespercats, though I have thought about it.”

He took another bite of his biscuit and finished it. “So do you have your own office? What’s the most popular event space that your clients want? I want to hear about your job too.” He said, grinning. He always wondered how crazy weddings got. He knew that farming could be stressful, but that was his livelihood. Most others didn’t get married as a source of income on their wedding day… or week.

Lady Angel Heart

She smiled. This was going really well for a blind date. Perhaps getting out of the shop wasn't all that bad. Just then the waiter came by with their food, after confirming everything was good they left the pair to their lunch. Prim turned her attention back to the conversion. She could definitely see the appeal of a rustic barn space...but goodness not everything needed to be plans for business. "Me? Yeah I have a place set up. It's mostly just a waiting room with a few offices and a conference room. It looks professional though. I also own the apartment in the space above it .. which really doesnt help with the workaholic mindset i suppose"

She paused to eat some of her noodles and pondered. Most popular even space?"Well I do have alot of brides want to rent out the Tea Garden place. You know the one that looks like a giant indoor Gazebo and has all the rose bushes outside? If you move away all the tables and stuff it makes a pretty good ceremony area. Natural lighting without the nature part is all the rage. Spaces with large windows and aged wood." She really didnt know why noone wanted to be outdoors anymore. She loved being with the wind and sun and flowers. Why go through all the effort to bring the outdoors inside.... instead of just having your weddings..outside? "A right proper tour sounds lovely and a discount is quite generous" she smirked. Prim reached into the pocket of her top and pulled out a business card, handing it to him. It said Primrose Weddings in a regal font. The pink and gold roses on the card seemed to be coated with a subtle shimmer power. "Ironically enough, people think the business is called Primrose.. not that its actually my name. I guess I am in the right industry"

SSBrosB

Peri could feel his stomach growling, but before it could become loud enough for Prim to here, the waiter came! He was saved! He started to eat his salad though. He could save the veggie dish, but the salad wouldn’t last that long, even refrigerated. He nodded his head while chewing and listening to Prim. After he was done with that bite he raised an eyebrow. “Sounds pretty nice. And it’s probably awesome to own your own company rather than having to work under another one. But I have the same problem with my house. It’s on company ground so no matter where I am in it I’m surrounded by the farm.” At times he had thought about moving, but had always decided against it. It was so much easier to get up early and get everything done if one didn’t have to drive to work.

When she mentioned the indoor gazebo Peri couldn’t help but wrinkle his brow and look a little annoyed. “Unless one has severe allergies, why would you pretend to have an outdoor wedding… inside?” He couldn’t understand it. If there was one thing he would never understand of others, it’s when they did stuff like that. Completely unnatural and using fake to look realistic? How did that make any sense?

He took her card and looked at it. It did look quite nice. His sister might like it. He put the card in his pocket. “Unfortunately, I don’t have any cards, but we do have a few billboards advertising our farm once you get closer to it. I can also give you directions.” He held back a laugh at people mixing up the business and her name though. “Must be fun to have to explain that over and over again.” He said, chuckling a little before taking another bite. The food here was good. Maybe it was just the way they made it? He would have to ask how long and at what temperature they cooked their veggies.

Lady Angel Heart

Prim supposed it was both a convenience and a curse to live above her office. She had a habit of bringing her work upstairs and it wasnt the best place to bring someone home to. It was very clearly the upstairs to the business.. only with a separate entrance."I don't really much understand it either. I guess its easier to control factors from indoors. No risk of rain or bugs or dirt on your white dress" She pushed her hair back from her face. "Ah yes....Hello, this is Primrose of Primrose Weddings..why yes I am the owner" she laughed and rolled her eyes. "I'm no chain I do all this myself, there is no deligating to other planners and such..one of my friends runs the front desk for me" She considered offering up her business card editor but they probably didn't want business cards for their farm.. kinda goes against the wholesome image.

SSBrosB

Well, he supposed that was one reason. He didn’t quite get all of the fancy-ness, or at least using things only once and then never again. If he bought something it would have to be used at least twice. Though he knew he had no right to judge. He hadn’t thought to much about his own wedding if he were to have one, but he thought the simpler the better. And perhaps make it something that everyone could contribute to, like a potluck or something. But he didn’t mind fancy things either. He had a suit he could use and besides, fancy events usually meant fancy foods…

“That must be nice. I have workers underneath me that I have to give directions to, but I do have a couple of managers who can do it for me. And then I’m stuck inside most of the day just dealing with the business aspect of the farm.” He playfully made a face and stuck his tongue out at the thought. Truly though, he liked to be out and about doing physical work than paperwork. “I have thought about hiring someone just to do that though, so I can go back outside. You use your hands to do both things, but I like the physical labor better. I get to watch all of the plants grow.” It was nice, to see the first little sprouts and continually check on them to see if they were growing correctly.

“Still, it sounds like we both do something that we enjoy, and while I may not understand all of the fancy things, I have nothing against them either. To each their own you know?” He said, before taking another biscuit and digging into his dish again.

Lady Angel Heart

Well being the only person means she had to do everything herself..which was stressful..but trying to hire and maintain a staff would surely be more so..."Agreed. To each their own." She lifted her glass in an agreeing gesture before taking a sip. "So.. enough about jobs and stuff. Tell me about yourself. Like uh...whats your favorite color .. or ... what kind of books do you like, if you read that is" She paused realizing not everyone reads stories. Most people now in days are too glued into the crystal broadcasted shows to bother. "I like pink, but I suppose that was a given." She smiled at her date across the table and wondered what he must be thinking about starring down into his plate of greens. She took the opportunity to work on her own dish some. Cream sauces always made for the most satisfying dishes in her opinion, this plate was so exception.
The last book she read wasn't even a real book, it was a how to guide on writing calligraphy. That being said she did enjoy dystopia novels, the ones that told of societies that seem perfect but are secretly corrupt or falling apart under the surface. You would think given her situation that she'd care more about romance novels or the usual chick flick tale but she was never going to fall for the stereotypical tropes those portrayed. How cliche is that to have guys win over girls with sheer smile and charm and the girls just falling for it. People are far more complex than the romance industry gives them credit for.

SSBrosB

Peri grinned. He was glad that they weren’t going to talk about business this whole time. Wasn’t that the point of this “blind date” anyway? To take their minds off of business and think of… other things. “If I said orange would you be surprised?” He said, chuckling. “Though you kind of have to like it considering that’s the most popular pumpkin color. I like greens too. Honestly, I couldn’t really say if I had a favorite color.” He hadn’t thought about it much. It just never occurred to him.

“I do like to read.” He said in-between bites. “But I don’t get to do it that often. And I can get picky. I like fantasy, but I don’t like sci-fi. Fantasy is a bit more relatable to me than the sci-fi stuff. You’ll probably think this is silly, but sci-fi tends to be a bit too confusing for me. At least with fantasy even if there’s a lot you have to memorize, you’ll still know most of the terms. In sci-fi you have to memorize what each word means. I’ve had to keep a self-made dictionary with me with those books. I don’t mind sci-fi movies though.” Most of what he read was about farming though and seeing if he could perfect any growing techniques.

“You have any hobbies outside of your work?” He said, giving her a sly grin.

Lady Angel Heart

She laughed softly "Pumpkin orange? I can say I'm somehow not surprised and shocked at the same time. If you say your favorite familiar is a Pumpka too I might have to think you a little obsessed." She wasn't much a fan of big sci-fi themes either. Robots and floating cities was weird and who wants to deal with aliens. She did like the technologically advanced machines those universes have. Something has to be said for something that can produce any food you can think off out of what one could also assume was chemical compounds. "Fantasy is nice. I always wonder what it would be like to live in a world without magic. Can you imagine everything lit by only fire? No crystals to power things. Makes you question how those characters even survive" She could never function in such a universe and yet fandoms of people are obsessed with such fairy tail concepts.
-
"Outside of work? Goodness seems everything I do is for work. I shop for supplies, i sketch layouts.. i do scrapbooking for theme binders. But none of these are really for me personally." She took a couple more bites of her pasta then reached for the salt. "I suppose I like stickers. Even if I'm not really going to use them on anything I like to get certain ones and keep them. They are pretty to look at. Easy to organize." Prim nodded to herself, seemingly pleased with her own answer. Reading and Sticker Collecting, between the two of them there definitely needed to be something more fun and exciting. Sports..? No definitely not sports.
"I dont really like... bake.. or garden.. or any of those things we took electives of and organizing is less a hobby and more a compulsion..buuut it is what it is ya know?" She shrugged and smiled.

SSBrosB

Peri blushed, and he was about to say that he didn’t even have any Pumpka familiars but decided to keep quiet. Pumpkas weren’t allowed on the farm. There had been too many… unfortunate accidents with them. All survived, but it was quite scary for a while and he didn’t want to deal with the stress involved. “I think it would be pretty neat. Just to go out in the world and not use magic for a week or something. I would love to go out camping.” He wasn’t sure if he could survive out there without some reading though, but he was pretty sure it wouldn’t be impossible.

“Stickers? That’s interesting. I think they’re cool too, but they’re the type of item that, at least for me, you both want to use them on something, but don’t at the same time.” He said, mixing some veggies on his plate around. He raised an eyebrow at her “confession” of not baking or gardening. “That’s surprising, but it’s not a bad thing. Those aren’t for everyone, and I think I would rather be a better cook than a baker. It would be a lot easier to keep the sugar out of my system at least.” He said, smiling. “My work is practically gardening so I already do that. If there’s anything else I like to do…” He thought for a moment. What did he do outside of his work and some reading? “I’d have to say it’s just walking around and hiking. There are a lot of other things I’d like to try, but with my work being so busy every day of the year and my uh… ears, a lot of them aren’t practical.” He said, a disappointed look on his face. “Someday I’m going to have enough workers though so that I can take a break more often though.”

Lady Angel Heart

Prim giggled "Well I like your ears. I constantly have to push mine and my hair out of my face anytime I lean over. But I see how that can be an issue. I dunno about hiking or camping but a walk in the park or something might be nice. Trees are blooming and landscaping has refilled all the flower beds. Promise I wouldn't scout potential wedding sites." She put a hand over her heart and pledged jokingly. Seeing their plates were nearing the bottom the waitress asked if they would be having dessert. Prim paused. She didn't really know about Peri but she wouldn't mind something small to finish off her decant pasta meal. All this dairy was going to be the death of her but she didn't have anywhere to be.. considering she was locked out of the office for 24 hours. Prim grinned and picked up the small dessert menu, ordering the 5 dolcini platter. She turned to Peri "Don't worry they are small like little pudding cups. Its like a fun sampler". The waitress nodded and walked off leaving them alone once again. "I hope you don't mind, I figured we might be splitting the bill, these can just be on my half."

SSBrosB

“Th-thank you.” Peri replied, blushing slightly. He often had to keep his ears out of his face too, but he was glad that they weren’t long enough to trip on. “Walking in a park is fine too! It’s just, being outdoors you know? I would rather be out than inside and stuck. It’s even worse in winter where I would like to be inside but still have to trudge out dressed head to toe for work. Luckily, it’s only the greenhouse and a small amount of winter vegetables that I need to work on during that time. It’s a lot slower compared to the Fall season.” Honestly, if he could just go straight to the greenhouse without having to walk outside, it would make work a lot easier. At times he had considered trying to get a teleporter just for it.

Peri shrugged when she ordered. He might have ordered something off of the desert menu, but it seemed that Prim had made the decision. He didn’t mind, but “next” time he would make sure to tell her he wanted to browse it for a bit longer. He finished up the rest of his dinner and move the plates a bit out of the way. “That’s fine. I’ve tried to stop taking in as much sugar myself but it’s hard you know?” He asked, smiling at her. “Not that I’m saying it’s bad to have any, but just a while ago I was scarfing down Winter Solstice treats and there was a lot considering the large holiday party that we had. There were cookies, brownies, and candy for weeks. I think we just got to the last of them.” He said, hoping that there weren’t any more hidden boxes or late deliveries.

Lady Angel Heart

"Yeah I get that. It wouldn't be very fun to be locked indoors 24/7 no sunlight or fresh air." Prim listened intently. "That must be grueling to trudge out in the icey cold to tend to plants" She couldn't really imagine the obligation of it. She was rather fond of winter just because snowy landscapes filled her with a sense of wonder. "Holiday parties are the best though! Its one of the few times no one frowns upon you breaking diets because everyone is doing the same." She loved holidays that involved treats. There was nothing quite like gathering with family to a buffet spread of treats. Her mother was never much of a baker but she made soltice treats every year with Prim to this day, and they were delicious.

The desserts arrived relatively quickly, Prim supposed they had some prepared in the fridge already. She scooted the plate the center of the table. "Since I ordered its only fair you get first pick, if you want it that is. I can probably tell you what each one is" She pointed as she spoke "Strawberry White Chocolate, Amaretto Tiramisu...,Chocolate Mousse.. whichever you want." Her voice reflected a hint of excitement "My personal favorite is the white chocolate strawberry its like ...sweet cream and strawberry jam... though I'm more than willing to share. I have a bit of a bad sweet tooth." Prim smiled bashfully at the fact she could easily eat all five herself and still go for more

SSBrosB

Prim nodded. “Yeah, but works got to be done you know? But then you get to go inside and relax by the fire or under a few blankets with a few mugs of hot cocoa afterwards. If it gets too bad out there though, or at least if it’s predicted to be, then we just use the greenhouse. Sometimes it just snows too much you know? I’ve been stuck in the house for days sometimes because there was just too much snow to plow through.” Sometimes the snow had reached the top of the door and he would just throw his hands up in the air. Though if he used the fireplace he always made sure that it was clear.

“It is nice to ignore the diet for a while, but sometimes there’s too much you know? If I could I would donate it but health regulations, you know? Maybe I should send some your way. A few dozen trays of cookies would be nice right?” He said, chuckling.

He took a quick look at the deserts. “I’ll take the Chocolate Mousse.” He said, reaching for it. “I have a sweet tooth for chocolate, though I like all kinds. The white chocolate strawberry sounds delicious though. But it reminds me a bit of you.” He said, winking at her for fun.

Lady Angel Heart

"Yes please! Though that hot chocolate sounds just as lovely." She wondered if perhaps she was a little bit too eager to accept a dozen trays of cookies from someone she just met. He seemed trustworthy enough. Surely someone with that genuine a smile couldn't be anything but that. Oh goodness she must be starring. Quick say something else! Oh right the desserts yes good distraction pick up on that. "Alright. Chocolate Mousee for the sir and White Chocolate Strawberry for the lady." She handed Peri a spoon and couldn't help but giggle when he winked at her. This was going really well right? She hoped he was also having a nice time. Though he probably wouldn't have just winked at her if he wasn't. Prim dug her spoon into the top layer of the white chocolate, taking an ever so satisfying bite. Maybe she should cut down on the sweets...

SSBrosB

“I promise the only thing we add to hot chocolate is extra flavoring like a bit of cinnamon or vanilla.” He said, wondering if she was worried about the ingredients they may use in them. After all, certain people didn’t like certain things in their drinks!

He happily went to town on the Chocolate Mousse dessert that he now had in one hand, though he made sure to make it normal-looking as opposed to a food-eating contest where he was on a timer.

After he was done, he put it on the table and leaned back a bit. Not too casually though, he didn’t put one of his arms on the back of the chair at least. “That was good. Though I would have preferred more of it. Like a soup-bowl or a bucket.” He said, grinning at Primrose. “Chocolate is just too good.” It was too bad it was mostly unhealthy. Perhaps he should just eat it until he got tired of it, then he wouldn’t want to eat it for quite a while?

The waiter came by with the bill and Peri made sure to take out enough for his half and for the tip. “Err, you don’t mind me paying for half of it do you? I know that some like the other to pay for them, but I wanted to make sure in case you wanted to pay yours?... I sound cheap, don’t I?” He asked, blushing a bit. He didn’t want to sound like he was trying to get out of paying for her or he didn’t have a good time, but he also know that some females liked to pay for their own food. “I don’t word things that well sometimes.”

Lady Angel Heart

One dainty strawberry dessert later, Prim starred longing down at the empty glass. He was right, definitely needed more. This little shot glass did not hold enough cakey goodness to be fulfilling. "Noted. Next time we split a whole cake...er I mean assuming you want there to be a next time". Just then she saw the waiter walk up, sparring her the embarrassment of the previous statement by bringing the check. To be honest She figured he would be the type of guy who offered to pay for everything right off the bat. The fact he asked if he could pay his part was refreshing. She liked being able to support herself so she had no issues paying for what she ordered. "No I don't mind. I brought my wallet so I got my meal and the impulse desserts." She pulled some cash out of her bag after counting it and sat it next the check. Prim laughed softly at the comment "I think you word just fine"

The waiter returned soon after and she told them to keep the change. Not that there was much extra between the two they had provided almost exactly what was written on the paper. She appreciated accuracy as such. Prim pushed some hair out of her face. "Well I would give you my number but you already have my calling card". She said jokingly poking at the fact he had taken her business card earlier. Trying to sound more confident than her previous comment about the cake. "It was really nice having lunch with you, Peri. We should definitely do this again." That sounded less assumy right? She didn't want to guilt this guy into contacting her but she would really like it. "I guess blind dates are such a crock afterall huh?"

Peri couldn’t help but blush. At least she was hinting that there may be a next time? “Uh, yeah! That would be awesome. We could either make the cake ourselves or just go out and buy it!” It would be interesting at least. Perhaps they could find one of those fancy chocolate cakes. Or a chocolate-themed cheesecake! The possibilities were almost endless, and with Prim’s connections, they might be able to find a really good bakery that would let them order an ordinary cake.

Still that was in the hypothetical future. They were still only on the, first of hopefully many and blind, date!

He was glad that she hadn’t gotten offended at what he had said though. He sometimes thought that he was saying stuff that was okay, but then would later turn out to have been rude. He was a too honest! Apparently working and owning a pumpkin farm had made it so that it was harder for him to communicate with others well. Perhaps he had been working too hard?

He blushed again when she mentioned his card. “Yeah… I’m sorry I don’t have one myself or I would give it to you.” He really should print some out. But others just weren’t up for ordering pumpkins that often! But if Prim managed to find some of her business contacts that wanted a delivery, he would be happy to oblige… “It was nice having lunch with you too Prim. I guess our friends know us a lot more than we thought they did.” And he would have to apologize to them. He knew that if he didn’t and decided to stay a stubborn bunny, then he would be teased for it the rest of his life. “We should do lunch another time.” He said, nodding to her and trying to silently communicate that they could both leave now. Whether it was by themselves or with each other, he didn’t mind, though he would prefer the latter.

Prim got up from the table, making sure she had put everything back in her bag before she walked off and left something behind. Phone, sunglasses, wallet...all accounted for. Pushing some hair back out of her face she turned to Peri. She quickly glanced at a text message then put her phone away. "Walk me out? I have to go talk to a florist about white tiger lilies... I don't think those even exist yet. So maybe a botanist too." She laughed and sighed at the same time as if suggesting this was both normal for her and exhausting. The two weaved their way through the restaurant back to the front. It was around the afternoon rush and the noise level increasing the closer they got to the door. Once outside Prim said a final goodbye then crossed the street in the direction of her next stop. She smiled to herself. Her job was to give other couples their happily ever after but she had never even considered what her own might be. She wondered if he would call. It would be nice if he did but then what would they do from there? She had never dated anyone before. Too soon to be thinking about that, she just met the guy...but he was really sweet and gentlemen like. She would just have to wait and see what happens. For now she had to go see about bioengineering some white tiger lilies for a very important client. May the nine be with her.

Peri could only nod and walked out with Prim. He thought about what to say when they finally got out, but could only say, “Maybe you could paint them?” Though he wasn’t sure if he had ever seen Tiger Lilies before. He was sure that if someone was requesting them in an unobtainable color, that the request was quite ridiculous.

He said his goodbyes to her, and she to him, and he walked off, ready to get in his vehicle, a beat-up truck without the pumpkin trailer attached to it this time. He felt a bit embarrassed by it, but so far it had been the only one that hadn’t given out on him from his pumpkin deliveries. He sighed, and made a mental note to put her business card in a safe and important place that he would remember.
