The Warriors of Darkness

Introducing the Warriors of Darkness

Ranks:
Males: Usuk'ndoko
Females: Uso'ndako

History of the Warriors of Darkness

Long in the past before the pride scattered a second time, the Aikanaro'hini of old was divided into two halves -- those following the demon god Morifaer, and those following the Demon God Sparda. Among those that worshipped Morifaer, there was a rank that they called the Warriorrs of Darkness. They were Morifaer's chosen, those who walked the dark path and followed to the letter the will that the God chose for them. In the end as the leaders Moricorm, Nyota'angavu, Tulivu, and Hakuna'jina rebuilt, the purpose of the knights was felt finished. Filled by other ranks, and in that, the pride simply moved on with their lives. However, as time stretched into her endless march, the pride began to grow. They discovered the demons present in leopards, and reached to outside prides with offers of alliance -- sometimes offering protection, sometimes not, but by and large it was expected all pride members would obey the call if the Leaders commanded it.

Except not every demon feels non-demons worth their time or energy. In a pride of so many, it was evident the entire pride could not be expected to obey the leaders and some still felt they deserved power, or strength, or dominion.

Not every demon found value in the outside and it began showing by threatening to spread small cracks in the pride -- demons craved to hunt, to take what they wanted, to seek the calls of their inner demon. It was understandable, but there was little one could do -- until recently.

Khizakel, the adopted son of Kuendesha'Akili, the son of Rhaen, raised and trained in the ways of the old blood, came to see a change in the Pride. Khiz had been adopted from outside, demon blood pure and true, and taught the ways of Morifaer on the side. He was taught everything, taught the way that the Demons had once been, their glory. His own demon roared agreement. As Time marched ever onwards, he began to see the changes taking place...every inkling that went against everything he'd been taught. Non-lions becoming demons, Creatures that would never have flown in the old world...well. There was little he could do about it, and it began to frustrate him.

He heard about the revival of the Order of the Knights of Sparda coming back to life, and made a choice. He'd heard, through the years, about the old Warriors of Darkness, those who heeded their Demons, and followed their calls. If the Knights were reviving, SOMEONE had to keep the old ways, the truth of the Demons beyond the outside, beyond the idiot Far. Those who could step in when the Nat were....not quite what they seemed. He went to the ONE Seer he knew he could trust, and then found a way to bring the Warriors of Darkness out of the dark and in to the light.

The Warriors of Darkness - Usuk'ndoko/ndako

The revival of the Warriors brings about a new purpose in the lives of the old-blood purists. They are the ones who have chosen to protect the history and darkness that lives within them, who have chosen to humor their own darkness, hunters and fierce pleasures in the darker side of life.

So what do the Warriors of Darkness DO exactly?

What Warriors Do:

  • A Warrior Heeds Their Demon - First and foremost, these are the lions that have chosen to put the needs of their Demon above those of their flesh. They follow the darker pleasures.
  • Aid the Demons - These Warriors stand together with the Lion-bred demons, while shunning those of non-leonine descent. They believe in the old blood, and of supporting their kind above all else.
  • Provide Fair Trial for the Nat - The Nat are those accused of horrid things. Cannibalism, Murder, etc. The Warriors see certain behaviors of this type to be NATURAL for a demon, and provide a voice for those accused. OOCly, this requires Owner approval and an explination iof whythe Nat is a Nat. This really is not to be abused -- those whom try may become Nat themselves - the Warriors are meant to speak for the Demons within the Pride, but have their limits.
  • Provide Voice of Reason - These Demons speak up against potential alliance. They are the voices of reason in their own minds, those that speak loudly on the potential risks that come from taking on alliance with those that are not closely aligned with the vision that the Warriors believe the Aegnor should be following.

What Warriors do NOT do:

  • Attack other Demons - While they do not LIKE the non-leonine among them, and to not accept them in to their ranks, they will not openly attack those considered to be Demon. They are careful and methodical.
  • Solicit Subterfuge - The Warriors may not like the changes, but they only provide VOICE against it, they do not actively work against the Leaders or the Pride. They are working for what they believe to be the GOOD of the Pride.
  • Abuse the Demonless/Non-Lion Demons - Following darker instinct to pain and pleasure is fine, but the Warriors draw the line at outright abuse. They will not protect any within their ranks that abuse/attack/maim/murder their demonless or non-leonine counterparts. This includes Allies. Those that abuse or attack kin, will be ousted from this rank.
  • Are not EVIL - While they're dark, they're not evil. They follow their need to hunt, to cause pain, to seek pleasure, and to stand against the tide of change. They are not cannibals, murderers, or outright abusers. They are simply those that stand with the old-blood of the pride.

How does one become a Usuk'ndoko/Uso'ndako?

It's relatively straightforwards. A lion must find a member of the Warriors of Darkness, and speak with them. First they must ensure that the lion's intention is true, in line with the beliefs and reason that the Warriors exist. Once this has been done, a Warrior will test their mettle. They will fight against one member of the Usuk'ndoko/Uso'ndako. Should they win, they will be put on a trial period within the Warriors. Should they lose, they will be sent away and asked to return once they are stronger. The Warriors believe in strength above all else, for they are not the most loved voices amongst their pridal bretheren.

Warriors of Darkness FAQ

What is the Warriors' stance on Cubs?
The warriors believe that Cubs are the future. They primarily choose to breed demon to demon, and if not a demon, they decide to stick to only dark-colored lions. Hybrid breeding is a no-go. They still agree with Cubnapping. However, be aware that clearing the action OOC with the owner of the Cubs and cub mother is necessary, as well as telling the Owners of the Aegnor in order to avoid any serious boundaries being crossed.

Do the Warriors only follow Morifaer...? Or...?
Though most of the Warriors look to Morifaer, or to some outside God, there are some that follow closer in Sparda's path. Just because they believe in Sparda, doesn't mean that they don't also believe in the Pride's old ways. The Warriors are open to any God they choose to follow.

Can two members of the Warriors Lifemate?
Heck Yeah! The Warriors are some of the most picky of the sorts of LIons, and stick mostly with demons, or darker-colored outsiders, so them lifemating is not outside the realm of possibility.

What crimes are there ICly that the Warriors don't condone?
While the demons know non-Warriors do these at times, the Warriors themselves are not to do the following, under these penalties. It WILL be caught -- the pride has enough seers to make escape impossible short of abandoning the pride (though they will be dragged back).

Cubnapping without OOC clearance, Murder (unless protecting another Demon/Pride member), Abusing Pridemates (Except in dire circumstances or in pre-planned situations), Attacking non-Demons (Excluding OOC-ly planned things), Disparaging Morifaer OR Sparda - You will return to your former rank. No arguments.
Murdering Pridemates (Aside from dire cases or pre-planned situations), Cannibalism, Willingly inflicting harm upon cubs/adols, Betraying the pride as a whole, Falsely accusing any other Pride Member of actions that go in to Nat territory.

OMG I'm gonna make all my demons Warriors!!!
So while we are opening up this rank for a short trial period, too many lions joining this rank will close it. This rank is to be taken seriously, and is to be seen as an honor among those who adhere closer to the old-blood of the pride. Also, keep in mind that requirements MUST be met IC-ly, and it must be discussed OOC-ly before you can join.

Oh, so they ARE Evil!
The Warriors do not speak for the whole of the Pride. They are few in number, and do not pass in to evil territory. They are darker than your average creature, sure, but...well. They are NOT proof of Judeo-Christian demon-hood, nor are they evil.
