Again Vith's flame fell short, but this time he dove after it to flame it properly up close and personal. He wouldn't fail twice in a row if he had anything to say about it. Hopefully the wingleaders hadn't been watching.

The ash from the flame blew back onto Vith and K'mar, but they both shrugged it off, K'mar with a laugh and a whoop. Living in the Weyr didn't seem like a high price to pay when he got to do this every week.

The wind caught the duo off guard and Vith quickly corrected their flight path, but the effort to keep them in place strained his wing muscles again. He grimaced but flew on, knowing the end was close.

Again the wind blew and again Vith strained, holding them in place at the expense of his muscles. He had to give it all now, otherwise they'd fall from formation too soon.

Roll: 15 - Your dragon is blown completely out of formation, and is too tired to stop it. Fellow wingriders notice, and trumpet warning, but your dragon is just too tired to care. The wind is too much! Moderate Damage -5HP Your dragon also now suffers Fatigue Effect For the next 3 rolled turns your dragon will suffer from Fatigue Effect. Any XP earned during those turns is negated. On the plus side, any negative status effect (i.e. additional Fatigue Effect, Guilt, Bitten Tongue, etc.) is also negated, since your dragon is too tired to care. The only exception is if you get a status that cures Fatigue or your Wingleader/Wingsecond rolls a status cancelling roll.) AND -7hp because UTA MEAN

She.... was spent. She'd fought so hard, and for the wind to take her then... it blew her wide, into thread that grasped and tangled, relentless where she was flagging. The green winked away to shed it, but returned weeping ichor.

Roll: 9 - The wind is strong and trying hard to buffet you. If a green or blue you find yourself struggling against the wind. The wind is powerful this high up, and you have to struggle to keep in your airspace. Unfortunately, a strong gust blows through, and you find yourself blown right into a clump of Thread! Moderate Damage -4 HP
HP: 7/26
Status Effect: Fatigue 1/3
XP: Luck +1, T. Accuracy +1, Stam. +2, Length +1

No, no, this was... it was enough. The pair were sent sprawling into thread again, and this time they winked not back to the fight, but to the Weyr to recover.

Roll: 17 - As you fly, you find that you're getting into a heavier patch of Thread ahead. You've got a bad feeling about this.... You warn one of your wingmates to let a patch go! Thankfully, they listen, and sure enough, the wind changes! It would have blown the pair right into the patch. As it stands, the wind blows the Thread back, and your wingmate are able to flame it down without injury. [+2 Instinct]

The skies were clearing now, but not clear just yet. A few finally clumps were still there, and for no reason she could tell, Findith cried warning of one. Indeed, a moment later the wind took it, and only her shout had spared anyone injury.
