 Mathias had been sitting on his porch, in his rocking chair, observing his front garden. His front garden was significantly more modest than his fields out back. He owned a good chunk of land and took care of it as well as the next Nightmare or Daydream. His crops always grew to be fresh and crunchy. When the harvest seasons came around for his crops, he would pack them into boxes and pack those boxes into his old horseless carriage. He would then move out to a small side of the road stall, put up his signs advertising his crops. He liked harvest season, because it always offered him the best interactions with folk. He got to find out what they were gonna use his carrots for, whether it be cakes or salads or eating 'em raw. He liked talking to folks.
But it was not harvest season. It was growing season, which meant that after the morning chores were done, Mathias got to sit in his rocking chair, surveying his front garden, until it was lunch time, to which he'd go whip up some lunch and then come back out to sit in his chair until dinner.
"Shoo," He said, his voice quiet, so not to disturb the peace of his surroundings. What I wouldn't give to have a neighbor come call on me for a cup of sugar or somethin'. He thought.

 Pippi was busy tending to her crops. She was over zealous this year and planted more than she should have. Sighing to herself and wiping the sweat from her brow she surveyed her land. It felt good to have all this by her hardwork.
She loved having her own small farm, it was not as successful as some but it kept her comfortable. Her bills were paid, she had all the necessities and a few luxuries and she was very content.
Her chores just seemed to be never ending this season. Her one farm hand broke his leg and is out for 8 weeks so it is all up to her. She won't quit, she refuses to. This is her life, her dream and she will be darned before she will give it up without a fight.
Looking up at the sun it is just about overhead which signals lunch time. She decided to go wash up, cool off and head for a walk as she munched on her lunch. She loved the taste of her crops and the food items she can make from them. It was fun to experiment some.
Going inside she washed up, changed her top to cool herself down, went into her small kitchen and began to make up her lunch. Grabbing her water bottle she walked out into the sunshine and strolled down the lane and off to who knows where!
She was eating and enjoying the scenery when she passed by another farm. She was friendly with most of her neighbors but she can not recall who owned this farm so she decided to be neighborly and stop by.
Walking up the lane to the house she saw a brightly colored male sitting on the front porch just staring out into space. She did not want to be rude but she was already here so she walked up with a big smile on her face and introduced herself. "Hello, I am Pippi your neighbor just down the road a ways. I usually do not walk this far but the scenery and sunshine was just to beautiful today. Do you mind if I stay and chat a bit with you?" she waited for his reply.WC; 371 Total:
