The Order of Sparda

Introducing the Knights of Sparda

Ranks:
Demons: Rauko'roquen
Sador: Ulaire'roquen

History of the Knights of Sparda

Long in the past bnefore the pride scattered a second time, the Aikanaro'hini of old was divided into two halves -- those following the demon god Morifaer, and those following the Demon God Sparda. And among Sparda's followers was the rank dedicated to knights. Back in those days the knights served their duties to the pride well, but in the end as the leaders Moricorm, Nyota'angavu, Tulivu, and Hakuna'jina rebuilt, the porpuse of the knights was felt finished. Filled by other ranks, and in that, the pride simply moved on with their lives. Howeverm as time stretched into her endless march, the pride began to grow. They discovered the demons present in leopards, and reached to outside prides with offers of alliance -- sometimes offering protection, sometimes not, but vy and large it was expected all pride members would obey the call if the Leaders commanded it.

Except not every demon feels non-demons worththeir time or energy. In a pride of so many, it was evident the entire pridecould not be expected to obeythe leaders and some still felt they deserved power, or strength, or dominion.

Not every demon found value in the outside and it began showing bythreatening to spread small cracks in the pride -- demons craved to hunt, to take whatthey wanted, to seek the calls of their inner demon. It was understandable, but there was little one could do -- until recently.

Perseus, son of Algol and grandson of a pre-godhood Hakuna'jina discovered his mother was not of demonic descent at all. The son of a lioness from a pride that cast males out at adolescence, he was sent to be with his father to know a home. He was born of the rtespectful unuion of a demon and non-demon only seeking to bring her pride fresh blood. Perseus pressed on to learn more, seeing his father taken by non-demons and demons and saw the value his father placed in them, even those whom might yet be demons, even in the sadir, and even finding value in the non-lions and non-leopards in the pride. They brought them strength, and so Perseus grew frusterated by his own inabilityto act, his demon spurringhim to do... Something.

Finally Perseus approached the seers, unsure how to voice his concerns to the leaders, and asked what could be done. From his seeking and asking, he learned of the lost rank, and came to a decision. He would revive the Demon Knights of Sparda, but not akone. The demons themselves drew fear, alarm, and anxiety -- demons dominated by dark pelts. Butthe sador, ever-present, and whom served the demons... The idea came then not to merely revive the mere rank and stick it on any demon willing but to create an Order dedicated to the goal of protecting non-demons, qnd the allies of the Aegnor'hini. This time, the demons could show their servants the resperct for demonless strength they showed as well, and so, Perseus has begun to build the Order of Sparda -- the Demon Knights and those whom serve at their sides.

The Demon Knights - Rauko'roquen
The revival of the knights brings a change in purpose, although some might argue it was the original purpose of the knights to begin with. The Rauko'roquen are the Demon Knights of Sparda, those demons whom chose to dedicate their energies to protecting non-demons, friendly rogues, and pride allies.

So what does this mean the Demon Knights DO entirely? Here's an easy breakdown.

What a Demon Knight does

  • A Demon Knight helps the Far. As their skills are not always required, the Rauko'roquen help with hunting and providing for the pride to hone their claws on prey.

  • Aid the Sador. As the pale, demonless, or generally non-demonic pride members are considered in need of protecting and help the pride, the Rauko'roquen in turn help them as thanks for their service. They also scour the Sador for those whom might wish to become Ulaire'roquen, and take those whom might be capable into the service of the Order to train to protect themselves for emergencies.

  • Protect the demonless. A Rauko'roque, like the Seasa, are encouraged to roam the outside and to see the world. However while doing so they are expected to protect those without demons from threats -- this can be most things like a larger beast or from strangers whom might bring them harm.

  • Seize the Unrepentant. Rauko'roquen are allowed to seize Nat -- but they must be prepared to explain their reasoning, as Nat are made up of murderers, cannibals, and other undesireables the pride as a while feel need kept from the outside. OOCly, this requires Owner approval and an explination iof whythe Nat is a Nat. This really is not to be abused -- those whom try may become Nat themselves - the demons take the Order very seriously, as they're meant to be the best of them.

  • Protect Allies. The Rauko'roquen are expected to defend individuals or prides allied to them as the guards defend the Aegnor'hini. They are the demons compelled to look favorably on non-demons and preserving the Aegnor's alllies preserves the strength of all involved. They can protect individuals, or an entire pride in small groups.

What Demon Knights do NOT do

  • Attack other demons. Althoughthe Rauko'roquen defend non-demons they DO NOT combat other demons except in exceedingly dire circumstances. They are still pridemates and although the rauko'roquen may not approve, they can only go through proper channels to otherwise handle it. Should the situation be dire, after dealing with their pridemate, a rauko'roquen must report the incident toi the leaders themselves IMMEDIETELY. (At least PM someone OOCly. It's mostly so we can track what goes on.)

  • Do NOT attack the demonless. Allies, rogues, anything demonless is to be protected and not harmed. Those whom violate this will be ejected from the Order and may take another rank.

  • Are not criminals. Rauko'roquen have to walk a very difficult path of having a demon that tries to ;eam towards non-demon values at times. Cannibalism, cubnapping, and the like are completely deplorable to true knights of Sparda and as such those whom try are promptly ejected to another ranking and forbidden from return wiuthout redeeming themselves in the eyes of the Order.

The Pale Knights - Ulaire'roquen

For a long time sador have been treated merely as demonless servants, allowed to follow their hearts under the protection of the Aegnor'hini so long as they complete the tasks asked of them. In this time, Sador have come to be valued bythe pride; treasured, protected, and to the pride, considered better than many rogues. When the Order was (re)constructed it was decided the demon knights would need aid. Those not of demonic color or with merely no demon at all, to help show the Rauko'roquen are no danger to outsiders. As demons are dark, the decision to welcome sador into the Order was made. Ulaire'roquen are pale knights in servbice to Sparda with the strength, will, and loyalty to the pride to battle and serve alongside the Rauko'roquen. Where the Rauko'roquen are theDemon Knights following in the paws of Sparda Himself, these demonless knights are considered to be doing much the same and are extremely respected for taking the values of Sparda seriously.

But wht do they do differently?

What do Pale Knights do?

  • Aid the Far. Much like their demon brothers, the Ulaire'roquen must serve the pride by aiding in hunting as the sador do. They may also be asked, like their demon brothers or guards in this instance to protect hunting parties as well as hunt.

  • Aid the sador. Like their demonic brothers, the Ulaire'roquen may choose to aid and protect Sador whom remain sador. As they are not demons but considered to take on the code of a demon they are slightly elevated above sador, but being former sador are expected to help as much as possible.

  • Escort Sador for SHORT journeys. The Ulaire'roquen are trained in combat to serve the demons and protect the demonless. As they were taught to fight as closely to a demon as possible, when a sador wishes to travel short distances - usually a day or two -- the Ulaire'roquen may be tasked with escorting them to protect them. This is the one task they usually do not need a Rauko'roquen for.

  • Aid the Rauko'roquen.p/b[ The main job of the Ulair'toquen is to helpo them actually help others without demons. Due to the reputations the Aegnor'hini as a whole holds, there is a great amount of fear of the demons themselves and the Rauko'roquen can't help if others do not welcome it. This is where the Ulaire'roquen shine; these knights serve to shelp soothe featrs of the Demon Knights and to soothe frightened non-demons, offering reassurance, helping find a safe route from dangerous areas or fighting, or, otherwise doing the kindly work of socializing when the Rauko'roquen cannot due to their demonic heritage. Ulaire'roquen are even encouraged to seek knowledge of healing to further this job, for both non-demons and their partnered Rauko'roquen.[/lisy]

    What the Ulaire'roquen are NOT...

    • Ulaire'roquen are NOT demons. Because you become Ulaire'roquen does not mean you magically found a demon. In fact none of them have demons and this is the ideal. They are non-demonic pridemembers whom choose to follow the pawsteps of Sparda and seek to help their Demon Knight brothers and Sisters to preserve non-demons of friendlier nature, and allies, from threats that come from OUTSIDE the demons.

    • The Ulaire'roquen are not purely Sador. While the Ulaire'roquen began as sador, they chose to walk the pawsteps of a demon, and are considered more or less as close to demonic as non-demons can get, and this is no small feat. It takes blood, courage, and skill, and the pride is more thjan pleased more often than not to aid in the training of potential Ulaire'roquen and they will even cheer them for every scar as they might other demons or sador.

    • Ulaire'roquen are not to work alone. Although Rauko'roquen may choose to roam bythemselves, they are almost ALWAYS with at least one Ulaire'roquen -- as the paler creatures are demonless, it has been decided that beyond short sador escort missions to escape major notice that they're safer with their demonic brothers and sisters of the Order, as they haver no demon to help guide them otherwise.

    • Ulaire'roquen are not criminals. Much as the Rauko'roquen are held to a higher standard then most demons, the Ulaire'roqien are held to the same standards. They face equal punishment to a Rauko'roquen for violatingthe mission of the order, if but stricter, as they can onlyreturn to life as Sador. TheyMUST behave as proper followers of the Order - a lacvk of demon is no excuse for breaking from Sparda's pawprints.

How does one become a Rauko'roquen/Ulaire'roquen?

For demons the task is simple; one must seek a member of the Order and prove their worth. This is done via everybody's favorite process -- a duel with a member of the Order. Or, rather, you must duel 3 times -- with the same member or with the SAME member. The good news is, this can be with a Rauko'roqien or an Ulaire'roquen. Similarly, a Sador must prove an ability to learn to fight -- in other words a sador must duel any demon/demons three times, and then prove their developing skill with one duel with a member of the Order to join. Of course, for the founding of the Order, existing sador may yet join without as may demons for a limited period of time -- this is to establish a base of Knights to build from. Further, one does not need to win their duels to join -- loss is a part of life. Persistance breeds improvement and improvement is all they ask.

Demon Knight F.A.Q.,

Can a Rauko'roquen still bring home cubs if they fling outside?
They may still breed as normal -- however they may not steal any cubs, even if they fathered kids. They want custody, they must work an agreement out with the mother to return with any cubs. Females may struggle with litters if the outsider father was a one nighter, but if he is in tyhe picture, an aghreement must similarly be made if the father wants his kids. The same is true for Ulaire'roquen; they must make arrangements if the other parent wants involved. No shame bringing your dirty outside business home, though, really.

Do the Knights still look up to Morifaer as a god of theirs too, or do they forsake Morifaer to be purely Sparda followers?
Knighthood does not exclude anyone from continuing to follow Morifaer, nor does it mean you exclusively worship Spoarda. You simply believe in the survival and protection of non-demons and maintaining a less malicious relationship with non-demons. You find value in their lives, and you want to protect that life.

Can two members of the Order ofSparda lifemate?
Y E S. No reason not -- the knights are likely the LEAST picky demons of the entire pride and some might even find non-demons to be endearing, in a semmi-twisted way. Some pretty darn interesting mateships might happen working in teams and such after all.

What crimes ICly are there?
While the demons know non-Rauko'roquen/Ulaire'roquen do these at times, the knights themselbes are not to do the following, under these penalties. It WILL be caught -- the pride has enough seers toi make escape impossible short of abandoning the pride (Don't, thwey'll drag you back):

Cubnapping, (Murder (unless protecting a non-demon), harming pridemates (Except in dire circumstances or in pre-planned situations), attacking the innocent, disparaging Morifaer OR Sparda - You will return to your former rank. Seriously, don't.
Murdering pridemates (Aside aforementioned dire cases or pre-planned situations), cannibalism, willingly inflicting harm upon cubs/adols, betraying the pride as a whole, falsely imprisoning another as a Nat - You WILL become a Nat. You WILL not escape this. The Order doesn't ask a lot, so...

I'm making all of my Sador into Ulaire'roquen because reasons!
I mean, you can if they meet requirements but if too many sador OR demons go running off to the Order we may close the rank off until the lower ranks are replenished. Please don't abuse this rank.

Demon Knights? *Squint judgingly*
sssshhhhhh. go play devil may cry or something. -FLEES-

Non-public Thoughts

OK OK OK the above is meant to be write-up and detaiuled information for owners and pride members but I keep imagining the Demon Knights being encouraged to take pale mates as often as demon and vice versa. I am surrounded by DMC nerdlings, so. I'm blaming ALL OF YOU.

I originally figured it bwas for demons but remembered everyone's scared of demons ICly because of the Demon Hunters, Aikanari'hini shenannigans, and other demon-based bullshit, so it made sense to offer a side for sador to work with the Demon Knights and it just devolved from there. FUN FACT: The name of pale knights is literally Ghost Knight. Better names for a matching rank for pale sador = A+.

So I know some pale demons may wanna hunk themselves in here but I'm unsure how to assign them. They have demons but they're pale. They're like, ******** cambions like Dante or Vergil. Damn, sons, what do with our pale demons in the Order?!?!?!

???? My guild is pooblic. We have discord. Kai can also futz with this post so we can hammer s**t down in either Discord or here.

ASHER HAS HEARD THE ROUGH IDEA OF THIS SO WE HAVE AN A+ SO FAR HEEEYYY HOOOOO. idk it felt worth mentioning.

No, nobody needs to be a Sparda to join. It was literally coincidence Perseus was useful starting thjings.

I do wanna roll a 1-ish month period to let a base group join the new rank duo requirementy-free so that the Ortder has a solid base FOR the requirements. So, 1 month, or like, 20 SoA. I'm also fine letting Rogus join in this time for this rank since most other ranks are more bitey-killy-no mercy where these are basically a bunch of Sparda followers.

I'm not asking for approvals of DIRE SITUATIONS where they might have to put other demons in-pride down because I want to trust people. I do think the Order can easily have a place in the pride so people can have boith wicked traditional demons or the less aggro sorts the pride is leaning towards. Options! And let's akl be real most demons wanna sackj and burn things. :B
