Introduction

This is a place for us to gather and use resources for reading online web novels, light novels, fanfiction, originals, etc. Anybody who has any websites they think should be added to the lists can just post below and make suggestions and they can be added. Also feel free to chat here about which sites you think are the best for reading or about sites which you feel don't have good materials or the latest drama between the translation sites.

Also just so you all are aware I am considering buying a layout for this thread to make it easier on our eyes. For now I hope you'll all forgive me as I'm not particularly talented at format layouts. I can pretty much just do the basics like adding links and making a table of contents.

Tracking Sites & Links Lists

Novel Updates -
Contains links to the original source of the novels which means the original translators/authors will not be harmed by using this site. If you sign up you can also track what you have read, track how far you are in each novel, and create your own reading lists. They do not put up links if the chapters are behind paywalls so if a chapter is linked here it is free to read.

Web Novels

Web Novel -
The source of many of their translated novels come from QiDian, Yuewen, and Drama Fever. Many people love them, others hate them. Mainly because they use a system of spirit stones after a certain number of free chapters. Many people do not wish to pay nor save up in order to read later chapters and it is indeed somewhat expensive.

Wuxia World -
One of the better sites for online novels, their novels are linked on Novel Updates but it's still good to visit the site and browse sometimes. They've had some legal disputes with QiDian in the past but that time period seems to be over.

Volare Novels -
Most of their translated works have entries and links in Novel Updates so the site doesn't need to be visited in particular but they have a couple of original works that aren't in Novel Updates. I haven't tried reading them yet so no promises on how good they are. If somebody else wants to review go ahead.

Light Novels

Rebirth Online World -
This site translates mainly Japanese web novels and I know that several titles at least are on Novel Updates but I didn't check them all as there are many. Has a collection of original works which I have yet to read if anybody wants to check it out.

A site where a lot of people post their fanfiction works and it covers a wide variety of genres and media types.

Original Works

Wattpad -
Well most people know of wattpad but it's really a mixed bag of good and bad works. Would recommend going there based on recommendations rather than trying to sift through everything.

Fiction Press -
Has the same format as FanFiction.net but it's for people writing just original works. It doesn't get as much traffic these days but it's still a pretty good site and the people who are active are easy to get along with.

MTL Sites

LNMTL (Light Novel Machine Translations)
This website is exactly as named. A site where they post machine translations of Light Novels. Pretty much quality is not guaranteed but it's better than nothing. These translations are often not linked on Novel Updates because of the low quality so you can sometimes find newer chapters of a novel that hasn't updated in a while or is slow to update.

Machine Novel Translations -
This site is another that does machine translations. Sometimes the reader is a bit laggy on this one for some reason.

Best Web Novel -
This person both translates some novels as well as writing some of his own but I haven't looked around much so I'm not sure which is which yet. I tried reading a Harry Potter fanfic on the site but I suspect it was MTL'd so the quality was not as good as I hoped.

Aggregator Sites

Novel Full -
This website aggregates translations from other websites but not all of them. They seem targeted at Web Novel. So far they don't seem to have had any legal issues but the site is questionable. If you can read their novels elsewhere it may be better to do so. They have a similar format to Novel Updates so may be made by the same group.

Novel Online -
Another aggregator site. Although reading from the original site is best there are times when they close down or have other issues and this is the only place to find the missing chapters.

Chinese Wuxia World -
A site that specifically hosts novels translated from Chinese into English, not to be confused with the other Wuxia World. I haven't spent too much time looking around but it may be an aggregator site. Needs further investigation.

Novel Zec-
Another aggregator site, not much special but the background is all black and it's a bit annoying.

Romantic Love Books -
Although they use the term romantic to describe their content I didn't see anything special about the site at first glance. It's probably another aggregator site.

Forgive me since I don't know Chinese. I got this link to the raws which can be used to mtl. Of course the translations that way are terrible but it's possible to get some idea what's going on.
