It wasn't like Noel to agree to anything like a blind date, but a friend of a friend had known someone who was single, and, well, it wasn't as if she weren't looking. Still, as the Kumiho neatly printed a brief entry into the planner journal propped on her knee, this was an unusual endeavor for her. There's a first time for everything, she reminded herself. It could be so easy to get caught up in school, in the busy life of event planning. Once in a while, she ought to open up to other possibilities. Which is why she chose the location of the date to be a rather uppity brunch establishment she hadn't visited before! It was on the adventurous side, she thought, with the marble tile and greenhouse terrarium roof. At least, it was a new environment for her.
Noel checked her watch. Of course, she had arrived the perfunctory amount of twenty minutes early, and she was starting to become a bit impatient in the waiting area of the restaurant. Or perhaps she was nervous. Or both. She took a steadying breath. This arrangement was perfectly safe, of course, and even if she didn't strike a romantic spark with this individual, perhaps she'd at least make a friend. But after a moment, she realized that it might help if she had... any clue who she was looking for. Peering around the waiting area, there were a few people who seemed engrossed in their own activities, patiently waiting their turn.
She turned to the stranger nearest her. "Excuse me," she said, "are you..." She checked her planner. "Alon?"

Alon was entering the restaurant about five minutes early for when he was supposed to meet his Blind Date... An amount of time that seemed appropriate, when there was a specific time chosen. Especially since he'd made a reservation for the time they were to meet. No point in being ridiculously early, he would probably just be sitting there looking dumb
Or dealing with someone who'd collected one of the calendars he'd posed in, and that sometimes got awkward.
He was about to go check in at the podium when he heard his name, and he turned to see a pretty blue Kumiho speaking to some random person. "No, he's not. That would be me." Alon said, calmly. He was wearing an impeccably pressed button up, which fit him snugly, so his muscles were nicely defined even when covered, and some comfortable trousers. Sure, it was more then he normally bothered with unless he was cold, but first impressions, and also most restaurants had that pesky 'no shirt' policy. He smiled at her, and said "Just a moment, I'm checking in for the reservation." He got that dealt with, then turned back to her.
He crossed over to her, and held out his hand, smiling brightly. "Anyways, I'm Alon Syvas, as mentioned. I am guessing you are Noel?"

Noel's jaw dropped, and her face flushed with warmth. It's a blind date, she reminded herself, it's okay to not have recognized him. But he was... really attractive. Something that the mutual friend who had set this up hadn't mentioned, at all. She scrambled to place her planner and journal in her purse - the perfect size for someone who carried around multiple notebooks with them at all times, of course - and slung the strap over her shoulder. She checked the time on her phone in her purse - he was only five minutes early, she noted, but nobody was perfect. Then Noel stood and smoothed her dress down, then shook his hand with enthusiasm. "I am. It's a pleasure to meet you."
The hostess offered to lead them to their table, and she followed, speaking over her shoulder to the handsome hybrid. "I've never eaten here before. Have you? It's a bit unusual for me to have chosen a date locale in a restaurant I haven't vetted but, this is also my first blind date, and there's a first time for everything!" Even as she was desperately trying to not sound as tightly-wound as she definitely was, and had been told she came across as. She slid into the booth at their table and carefully arranged her purse beside her, before diverting her whole attention, her focused stare, onto Alon's face.
