Vanhi never had to worry about not having food for lunch. Her family lived above the cafe they owned, so she often had various desserts and sandwiches to try during lunch. However today she was more absorbed in the four cups of liquid in front of her. Due to the cafe mentioned before she liked making new drinks and running them by her grandfather. She had a knack for it but she hoped one day to go to Asterion and get a mixology degree to help her skills. However right now she was still a kid.

Of course another reason was because she didn’t really talk to people who weren’t her family others tended to avoid her. It didn’t help that she had a set of ‘uncles’ who weren’t so law abiding and the rumors about them mixed with their own protectiveness drove others away from hr as well. So lunch was often a lonely affair. With a depressed sigh she drooped against the table and pushed at her drinking mixtures. Maybe she could go find haruka, or jin or sitri. They had a similar situation as her, but she didn’t want to bother them so she just sat there. Maybe something fun would happen today?

Her ears twitched and swiveled towards the sound of footsteps near her. Weirdly enough they seemed to be slowing down, so she sat up and undrooped from the table. Even weirder was the other freshling sat down, vanhi briefly noted they where a hallowed, but since she had hallowed family members that’s all she really did about it except for tilt her head to the side. “Thank you” she replied in a tiny soft voice. However the freshling was actually sitting down at her table and hadn’t she just been saying lunch was depressingly boring? “They’re kumiho ears. I have the tails and feet too but you can’t see them due to the table. Ginger is very pretty. Oh right i’m Vanhi. You are very welcome to sit here” she answered. There that was a better attempt right?

Maybe it was just seeing Aisling actually sit down that sparked something or maybe it was the juice box but she looked back at her three bowls of liquid and then over to the juice box. “May I have a smidgeon of your juice?” She asked. The juice should blend together he three flavors hopefully. After all most of the vials where of another type of juice.

“Most kumiho don’t have wings, they just have the feet and the ears. Oh and of course the tails.” Vanhi answered while she waited for permission. “They also have fuzzy arms. However daddy is a hybrid so i’n Part chimera, baphomet, And Geist although I didn’t get the horns like my brother so you can’t really tell i’m part baphomet. I’m also in Enoch. My family owns that really busy cafe and I want to make new drinks. I think Amatsu said it’s called a mixologist?”

“I didn’t know yet that I needed the juice and didn’t have the money on me for it” vanhi admitted sheepishly. “I have a big family but we’re not all related .its just called a family because everyone is really close to each other and supports each other” and a bunch of other things vanhi wasn’t sure on. Some times being so close meant that her dad and uncle vanna came home really tired or hurt. They where all part of a mafia family, but vanhi knew better than to bring that fact up. “You may not have one know but not all family has to be related. You’ll find yours too one day” she replied and then reached out to catch the Apple, or at least tried to.

‘Yeah you can watch, it’s gonna fiz and bubble a bit” vanhi answered. She took the red vial and blue vial and poured a tiny bit of the red into the blue, then took the last vial and poured half of it in the red blue mixture. It started foaming a bit so vanhi took the juice box and poured a small amount in... before reaching into her lunch bag and making sure none of the caretakers where watching, poured a third of it in her mixture. It started glowing bright blue before settling. The mixture looked a bit like the night sky filled with twinkling stars. “It’s safe to drink if you want to try some. Most of the time it’s mixed in with adult drinks but I wanted to make one for people who couldn’t drink that adult stuff... didn’t exactly get it right yet but at least I got the stars this time”

“and as you find really good friends and other familiars, the family will grow” Vanhi agreed. All of her uncles had started out with bad family situations and the like but they had all found each other and they were all really close. Vanhi wanted to continue that legacy. “oh you can even ask the school for an older sibling. They help guide you and the good ones become like family too.”

Vanhi couldn’t help the smile that graced her features. She didn’t think anyone ever got that excited before when she made things. Then again she didn’t often make drinks in front of others.

“Ah well normally it made you glow and emit stars and your tongue would turn all galaxy like but I don’t know if it’ll have all the same effects. It’s a magical charmed drink. Uncle Fon knows I like to make new drinks for everyone so he does the spells and then he promised to teach me when I got older. However yes you can totally drink it” Vanhi replied, her voice going all unsure and quiet again. “however you should totally come check out the café one day. Grandpa and Dad when he’s in actually make the most awesome drinks ever. I want to be as good as them one day”

“I haven’t gone there myself because my older brother already goes to the school but my uncle was one of the older siblings when he was here and he ended up really close with his school sibling” vanhi replied. She knew sometimes it didn’t work out but she hoped if aisling did go that route, the hallowed found some one that would become really close family.

“I think you glow just the right amount, although some people say you can’t glow near enough which is why they like the drink I suppose” vanhi pondered. “Still thank you, drinks can make people,feel better and I want to create drinks that do that to help bring a smile to people’s face. I got a long way to go but i’ll get there”

Vanhi smiled when aisling tasted it. She seemed like she really liked it but it was more than just that. Vanhi didn’t get to make friends often, so when she did she always treasured them. She wondered if she could call this making a friend? “Well then I will totally look forward to seeing you again there” vanhi beamed softly. Today had been a good day.

“It was no problem really.” vanhi replied. However when aisling complimented her drink she smiled, glad she could give a person a reason to smile. She knew she still needed a lot of work to be as good as her dad or grandfather but she would get there. She would, because causing smiles was the best feeling ever. “I’ll look forward to that, i’ll be easy to find at least.”

Most people she met it was a one time event... or they were regulars at the cafe and she didn’t really get to meet them that often too busy trying to help with what she could. However this time she had a good feeling? Was that how you where supposed to feel when you thought that just maybe you made a friend? Of course before she could really mention where the cafe was the bell rang.

“Yeah, i’m always here st lunch most of the time. I’ll be here tomorrow too. I hope the rest of your day goes well. it was nice meeting you” vanhi replied. Yeah this was definitely making a friend. She’d have to tell amatsu and bolero when they went home together later.
