I did not know about the Christmas event issue. I'll work on a fix later this week.

As offered a couple ATSes ago, I created a survey on the subject of potential Fishing updates that staff might consider implementing in the future. The survey was to gauge Gaian's general interest and/or concerns they might have, especially regarding adding a higher tier bait available for purchase with GC. Please see the results below:

The survery received 201 responses overall over the course of two weeks.
In particular I want to highlight that there was some concern about adding a paid element to Fishing, however the majority felt it reasonable in light of Gaia's current funding issues. For the most part the survey revealed updates/additional features would cause more Gaians who may not fish much currently to take part in the game a lot more. Many current fishers responded to me directly that their concerns were focused primarily on getting the game more reliably operational before considering future updates. Dialogue also took place at the following thread, should the staff like to view it as well:

Uh-oh...I think some areas in zOMG have completely went bonkers. The MapConfig.xml file (S60428 - /S60428/mapconfig.xml) that is in place right now is the 2009 version and completely removed most parts of Deadman's Shadow (Green Room up to the Final Boss), Bucaneer Boardwalk Full and Barton Bar and Graveyard Pier is messed up and many people are stuck on loading screens forever because the areas don't exist at all. The S60427 MapConfig.xml (/S60427/mapconfig.xml) file seems to be the complete one with all those missing maps including the Coliseum one. The Train Station is also inaccesible
by a pop-up text that prevents the player from going in which can be found in the Barton Sewers. This is a game-breaking bug and needs to be fixed ASAP.

Would be nice to have an option to do it again and the player can have a choice (like a Pop-up Menu) whether to do the quick tutorial (The current tutorial in Village Greens) or a comprehensive tutorial one in the Train. Also, the stairs in the Waterworks to the Train Station is still inaccesible.

Many suggested only to reduce the current servers from 3 to 1 and bring back the old system of server cycling, not the one right now that forces you to DC at the time of server cycle, where the old server recycles the new one.

Oh no! The wrong config file was uploaded. It will be fixed in a few minutes.
We have plans to bring back the train, while the Fountain Game will take longer as I couldn't find some of the essential files needed for the game.
We're also working on adding one more server. Either way, very soon we will be making at least 2 of the servers be on rotation so players on that server wouldn't get kicked out.
We'll have more info on Sweetheart ring soon, most likely yes

Resources are tight right now so we're not adding any mini games just yet. Which minigame is not showing avatars? I should fix that ASAP.

Well hi gaia staff my question is about my username well A while ago I changed it because i kinda wanted to have a new one but I regret it after I did it so when I tried to get it back I always get the General Error message but I'm pretty sure it is not taken though there are many users that have Nejih in their usernames

Hi there,
Yes, it is possible in some situations to be able to reassign names to other accounts. But we can not guarantee being able to do so in every case, and unfortunately this is one of those times. There are many reasons for this from an account we can not verify has been abandoned to another name that is similar enough that the system will not let us reuse the name once we have removed it from the old account.

I should have info about the SFX in HoC later this week.
There is some issues with Monster Galaxy, but I've debugged the issues twice and haven't gotten to find out the root cause. It might be a while until I can fix it.

At some point in the future when things are perfectly stable across the board, it would be kind of nice to have a month or two with no new items. Put some older items that people have sky-rocketed the price for up for grabs.
It's just really hard to keep up with new items because there is always a new one. There isn't even much of a wait time between new items.

If there are items that go unlisted that you think need rereleasing, feel free to always request it in this thread: What Items Would You Like to See Re-released?
Just take note of what can and cannot be rereleased. Between the re-release item gens that go out daily and the weekly updates we see rotate between the other cash shops, we do our best to tackle as many items that need re-releasing.

That issue was fixed 5 days ago, please check again tomorrow, which should enable your status if you had been logging in for the past 5 days. I had to re-write the system so hopefully it's properly fixed this time.

Would it be possible for you to update the users chosen to be part of the feature Fancy Avatars? Many of the users that are being featured haven't changed their avatars in years (and most likely haven't logged on in the same time), it would be nice to see some fresh new ones featured.

How come if Gaians who use Google Chrome try to use the Daily Treat system to get some daily Gaia Cash, Chrome won't let them see any videos or the like(such as Firefox or Pale Moon), but when they try to use other Browsers to do the same, they actually DO get some amounts of Gaia Cash for their efforts?

I'm not sure about this problem as I just tested earlier today on Chrome and didn't see any issues. It might be a silly question but might there be an extension or add-on keeping video ads from showing?

I see that there is still work being done on zOMG!, is there any possibility that zOMG! will be rebooted after Flash becomes obsolete in 2020? Or if a similar game will take its place? I know at the moment you guys have so many other things you're all trying to accomplish and we all appreciate it, but it would be a real shame to see zOMG! be brought back and then shut down and discarded again.

We do have some events in mind, but there won't be any big updates as zOMG is a really big game that took 6 engineers 2 years to build. I do want to look into porting the flash client into its own Adobe Air app, but that's still in the research phase.

so i notice the last few days, it take quite a while for the entry picture to update to my new avi. (when you are entering a runway for the next day the picture shows up and says "is this the avi you want to enter?" it took a long while for it to update to the new avi i made to enter. about 1/2 hour last night. not a big deal, but sometime a placement can come down to when you entered.)

Entries are handled by a task scheduler which runs in the background. The system sometimes takes longer because of site traffic. We will add more servers to shorten the response time as soon as possible.

I really liked the new Scapegoat male item, but I didn't purchase one because that vest he's wearing is stuck tight, if that vest was removable I would have bought one immediately. Also, I'm a little puzzled that the other recent new LQI release the Guardian Spirit was priced 100 GC less and fewer were offered, increasing the chance of sell out of that item more so than the Scapegoat.
I just wondered if you could let us know your reasoning for this pricing structure on female vs male new releases.

Each item is priced on an individual basis, but if it was to be compared to something, we're likely to compare it to an item that is closer stylistically. I wouldn't think too deep in comparing the two items as they're two separate entities, it's not about it being male vs female.
The feedback for both items were both really positive, in-house we enjoyed reading all of your comments

Me and a bunch of others would like to start doing image based roleplaying. But it doesn't fit in ANY forum but the chatterbox- which is a bit undesirable to post in.
I know one user want's to bring back Avatar battle- which used to be a highly popular thread(and the type of image reply based threads I'm talking about). And personally, I would like to do a similar project involving Gaia lore/NPC's(having each user contribute to the story), and to try to get a lot of the community involved in it.
