Ivy awoke to hearing someone fussy down the hall and yawned as she stood, grabbing a blade. She followed the sound to Eve's playroom and blinked at the sight of most of her daughter's color spattered wardrobe scattered all over her room. The toddler herself was kneeling, digging in her closet for a good outfit for the day. Ivy sighed, "Its early, baby, why are you up?" A glance at the Jack clock on the wall showed it was seven in the morning and Eve looked like she'd been up for a while.

"I can't find my favorite jumper and shirt! Daddy's going to take me out for the day and I can't find my best outfit." Ivy was tempted to argue with her on that. Her baby would look good in anything, considering that everything she had, Ivy had brought for the girl. "How about your sundress and one of your sun hats?" Ivy looked over the mess of clothing around the room, picking up a formerly white sundress that was spattered blue and purple paint.

"I know you have a blue hat in your closet that would go with this dress." Eve paused at her mother's words before grabbing the hat and dress, running to her bathroom to change. Ivy doubted Faust would be up so early to pick Eve up for their day. Though Ivy had been very surprised when Faust asked if he could spend time with her daughter. She remembered how their first date went and somehow he did not mind her or her baby girl.

"Damin's probably starting breakfast. Go eat before you get dressed." A red haired streak went down the stairs, leaving Ivy standing with Eve's shadow Heri. She glanced at Heri, "Come on, let's go eat, Heri."

It wasn’t Damin who was in the kitchen, but Faust. He had arranged this with the vampire, and was cooking up pancakes, eggs, bacon, and hash browns. He was humming as he turned a pancake over.

“Hey baby,” he greeted Eve as he spotted her. He straightened the chef’s hat he was wearing. It was a playful sort of look. “I made a special pancake for you.” He pointed to a heart shaped pancake that had been set aside on a plate. “It’s got chocolate chips, don’t tell your mother.”

He finished the pancake he was working on and slid it onto a plate. “Are you excited to go to the zoo and toystore? Then I thought we could go to the dollar theater and catch a Disney movie.”

Eve peered into the kitchen and beamed when she saw Faust instead of Damin. Damin was great, but her daddy was better! Eve had adopted Faust as her daddy the moment she met him. "Morning, Daddy. Ooh, yummy." She loved the special pancake he had made, but heard her mother behind her. Ivy's hair was standing in some spots and was a mess with her night shirt and leggings on.

"I don't care if she has sweets. She eats enough veggies." Ivy growled, walking to the coffee maker, seeking her precious coffee. Ivy was still very much not a morning person. The female dark elf watched Faust and her daughter interact, Eve climbing into her toddler seat to eat her breakfast. Eve loved the idea of the zoo though she was not about the toystore. She did not have many toys, but she preferred books and art stuff instead of toys much of the time. The only toys she liked was her dollhouse and several large plushies that she liked to use for nap time.

She did blink at the mention of the theater and disney movies. Eve tried to think the few films she saw and could not remember them. Other than nightmare before christmas, she hadn't seen many of them. "Do they have nightmare before christmas?" Ivy chuckled, "Doubt it, sweetie. They might have ones like the little mermaid and sleeping beauty." Eve was not sure about those, "So I have to watch the mermaid turn to sea foam?"

Ivy choked on her coffee for a moment before clearing her throat. She forgot that Eve had read the old fairytales and brothers Grim's versions. Ivy hadn't gotten her any of the books on the disney films yet. "I think the films daddy wants to take you to have a much happier ending than the ones I've read to you."

Faust loved the tiny stitch child with all his heart, he'd fallen in love with her the moment he'd met her. He'd felt like there was some kind of connection between them, like there was with him and Leirre. She was meant to be his daughter. Somehow. He knew it.

Faust looked up when he heard Leirre come in. He beamed at the sight of her. She was always so beautiful. She never had to try, she just was. Even when her hair was standing up in spots and she was still wearing a nightshirt. "Good morning, love," he greeted her with a smile. He moved to kiss her cheek. "I made you pancakes."

"Er, no," he said, after a moment. He swallowed and tried to recover. "No, she gets married in the end." He looked to Leirre. "You're reading her Grim's?" he sounded accusing. "Leirre, she's a baby."

Ivy had long since figured he'd never call her Ivy, so she tried not to bristle at the use of her elven name. She merely sipped her coffee at his question. "Yes, I read her the brother Grim's tales while leaving a few very unpleasant stories out. She's heard red riding hood, the twins in the forest, and a few others." Though she doubted that Faust had fully grasped how smart Eve was. Her baby had seen a few horror movies and was not bothered by creepy stories.

"Brothers Grim does not bother her. She's seen some horror movies and they don't freak her out. I just haven't gotten around to the disney stories yet. Quite a few of them, I was not comfortable with Eve reading." Like Cinderella for example or the fox and hound. "Keep in mind, Faust, Eve might look like a baby, but she neither acts or thinks like one."

Eve finished her food before hugging Faust and heading up to her room to change. She passed her shadow, Herion, who flew into the kitchen, looking for breakfast. He chirped and looked at Ivy, "Heri eri ion?" Ivy could not always understand shadow, but she knew he was wondering which plate was his. "Faust, did you make a third plate for Eve's shadow, Heri?"

He was glad that she had at least omitted the worst of the stories. There were horrible things in those tales, they had been spoken and then written to scare children. "Fine, fine, but don't read her Cinderella. That one's awful." He hated that one. No child of his would be hearing that one in its original form.

The Disney version was quite nice, though. Maybe he'd introduce her to that one. "You've allowed her to watch horror movies?!" he was horrified. He stared at her for a long moment. Clearly they had very different points of view when it came to raising children.

He scowled. "I know," he said.

"I did, complete with cheesy puffs. They're Vate's son's shadow's favorite, so I guessed Heri would like them too." He offered the shadow a plate.

Ivy sighed, "I don't want her to hear the disney version of cinderella though. It's not a good rolemodel for girls and she hadn't had a princess phase yet." She was quite thankful for that. Her baby would grow up to be able to think for herself. "I did not let her watch horror movies. Her nanny did and since it did not give her nightmares, she can still watch such movies. She finds them funny." Eve understood that what happened in horror movies weren't real and so it did not bother her.

Eve headed upstairs to change as Herion flew over to his plate of food, wings working as he ate. "Heri eri eri!" Ivy chuckled, "Most shadows like cheesy puffs, but he only gets one bag a day, so he'll still eat real food." By real food, she meant a home cooked meal. Usually made by Damin though. she was still a rough cook.

"It teaches girls to dream!" Faust protested. But he could see her point, it definitely didn't encourage girls to fight for what they wanted. Dreams could only take someone so far. "The princess phase is fun, though. I remember when you had one." He was teasing her now, eyes warm with familiarity.

"You'd want to have tea parties with me all the time."

Ivy raised an eye brow at his response to her thoughts on Cinderella, "I want my baby to know she can fight for the things she wants. As for the princess phase, I doubt she'll have one. She likes Jack too much to go for disney princesses." She did not doubt that she had one even though she did not quite remember that part of her past. She could see herself having tea parties. "Eve plays tea party, but she does it mostly with Herion."

No princess stage? Faust frowned slightly at the thought. “Maybe I can get Eve to play tea party with me,” he muttered. He wanted to bond with her. She was special to him.

“I thought we could spend some time together,” he said. “I want to do something fun.”

Ivy hugged him with a slight smile. "I'm sure she'd love it if you would play tea party. I hear Herion does not make for a good tea drinker. You'll have fun today with her." She kissed his cheek, "Don't worry, Faust. She already loves you to pieces." The female elf went to her plate and started eating her breakfast with her coffee in hand.

Eve dressed quickly and headed downstairs with her hair still a mess. Ivy sighed, "Where's your hairbrush, Evey? You still have bedhead." Eve blinked and stopped on the stairs. "I'm going to get my hair brush." Ivy looked towards Faust, "You want to bond with her, right? Go help her brush her hair. I'm going to go for a shower. Evey's room is the double doors with jack and sally on the doors."

Eve dug through her vanity that was black and white and with a small mirror. It was something Louie had given her from her mother's childhood. Her hairbrush was a small one, but it was tucked into one of the drawers too far for Eve to reach. The toddler sighed and turned to see if Herion could help. Her room was a mix of a art studio and a child's playroom with a window seat covered by two black and white teddy bears. They were only black and white things in the room that did not have paint on them. Her walls had paint splattered of many colors. Ivy haven't felt the need for wall paper because of Eve's creative painting.
