Harems are made up of three or more adults and their unmarried family members. The 3+ members of the harem share a surname unique to their family unit in a way that distinguishes them as the married harem, which you can read about below. Family is incredibly important in Likno, and tend to stick quite closely to one another.
Adoption is a norm in this pride, as members will take in orphans as their own and consider them apart of the family by sharing their surname. Any child leaving the harem by marriage will take on the surname of their new harem.
Family Ties
Family is incredible important in the pride, but often families splinter a bit due to marriage into other harems. A child may opt to join their sibling's harem as an adopted member if they do not wish to stay with their parents.
Sponsoring
Any members without actual blood relatives in the pride may be sponsored by an unrelated harem. They take on the same surname the child and relatives do, to show they are under that harem's protection and guidance.
About Surnames
Surnames relate directly to a harem, and are specific to that Harem. Marriage grants a harem a new name different from their parents names. It can be a mesh of their parents surnames, or something completely different. Surnames must be approved before use, and the 'child surname' will be provided with the approval to minimize confusion.
example: Metis Technipaidi became Metis Kentro
Children and Sponsored members of a harem will always get 'paidi' attached to the back of the harem's name to show they are not married into the harem, but still apart of it.
example. Technipaidi is a child of the Techni Harem.

Creating a Harem
A Harem is made up of three (3) or more members that are set to be married. They are married before a lawspeaker or the monarch with a witness, in character. To create a harem, be sure you read all of the info about harems beforehand. Follow the steps below to get your harem started!
Instructions
Find 3+ members willing to marry one another.
RP them! They must have at least one RP within the pride together. (waived, Jan 29 - Feb 28 of 2019)
Find a pride member willing to be their witness - basically anyone else that would approve their marriage. (This does not have to be RPed out!)

Marrying Into an Established Harem
Sometimes a harem becomes established before all the lovebirds come together. In this case, one will marry into the already established harem and take on the Harem surname as if they'd always been there. The process is much the same as creating a harem, requiring a witness and lawspeaker/monarch's approval. However, every member of the established harem must agree to the marriage, otherwise the marriage will not be allowed. Fill out the form below if everything works!
