tab █Lawrence is a very large man. Standing at 13ft, his clothes have always been impossible to find at general retailers. His hair was once brilliant red to match his boisterous personality, but time has tempered it into a Dark Ash Grey Color. In the past decade, the whisper of the lines to come have begun to crop up on Lawrence's once charismatic and debonair features, but most would still find it difficult to find these lines. Lawrence stands poised like a nobleman, and his actions would not be put to shame even at the King's own table. Though Lawrence's height will always give him away in a crowd, broad shoulders dismiss any notion of lankiness from the man's appearance.
tab █ Locke has always been driven. This single term seems to describe him best even though the other people in his life would likely describe him in different manners. Locke's business partners would likely have described him as wise or inventive. Locke's knack for business stemmed largely from his capacity to comprehend a market and to innovate revolutionary new business models and practices. The aristocracy would likely describe Locke as cunning or full of guile. Lawrence's capacity to innovate led him to end much of the medieval plutocracy which had so long been the status quo. Lawrence's employees would describe him as just and proactive. Lawrence dealt with his employees on a personal level with an intimate knowledge of their needs, drives, personality, understanding, character, and tendencies. Though he expected a lot from his workers, they were treated and rewarded hundreds of times better than those employed by anyone else in the East Blue. Ultimately, Lawrence's Inventive, cunning, and just nature were all derived from his innate drive. Lawrence was discontent with being governed by the rules of another, and would always unceasingly strive to throw off his bonds be they physical, mental, political, or financial.
tab █ Lawrence was born to a high-level merchant, who for unknown reasons had fled the Great Line as a young woman. She met and married into a well to do family an had three children. Lawrence, as the oldest, was groomed from a young age in the mercantile trade business his parents ran. His mother was the odd woman most of the time as women were not generally given the same stand in their society as men, especially when facing the nobility, but this discrimination only drove Lawrence even more. When Lawrence was a young man, he was sent by his parents to another island to run their first branch company. After a decade away from home, Lawrence returned and took over the whole company. There were years of growing pains for both young Locke, and the company, but at the end of the day, Locke succeeded in growing his business into a multi-island empire handling most of the shipping chains and distribution for all goos in the East Blue. When Locke was 24, he married a young woman from Loguetown, and together they have 2 children who have all grown and left to their own fortune, Liam in the Grandline, and Heath to the South Blue. Lawrence lived well for many decades with his wife, Felicity.
A year ago, Lawrence learned that there were indiviuals insie of his company who were seeking to overthrow him and to divide the company up for profits. It was too late for Lawrence to do anything by the time he heard about the plot. In the process of the malicious takeover, Lawrence was framed and labeled a criminal. Lawrence managed with the last of his resources to arrange for safe transport to the South Blue where Felicity was to go and live with Heath, and to arrange for a new source of power to be given to him, a Devil Fruit, the Hira Hira no Mi.
