RP Response: As far as her collection went, this one was so plain. Just a grove of trees that snowed when you shook it, but what bittersweet memories it carried with it. She shook it now to watch the snow fall and sang. "Oh above the sky does cry, upon the sleepy wood at night. Frozen tears drift gently down, to kiss upon the frozen ground."

Her girlfriend had given her this snowglobe. Her girlfriend who had been terminally ill, but knew Amarith loved to collect snow globes. Amarith didn't think Petunia had intended for it to be such a poignant reminder of her, maybe in her eternal optimism she had still thought she was going to get better. But that was alright. Amarith treasured it dearly, and no matter how many tears she cried, it brought back good times. It brought back snowball fights and cuddling near a fireplace drinking hot cocoa. It brought frolicking outside and laughing while gently falling snow drifted into their hair.

"It's good." Amarith whispered, caressing the glass with a cleaning cloth before she put it back on the shelf with the others. "You'll always be with me this way. We'll always have those times."

RP Response: It wasn't her biggest snow globe. Or even her most elaborate. No, this was just a very simple globe with a sled inside. But every time she looked at it, it made her smile.

It reminded her of a simpler time, when she was just a freshling. Her parents had moved her around a lot so it was hard for her to make friends, knowing that it would only be a few months at the least before they would be gone again. One winter she was standing at the end of a hill, making a pathetic little snowmare by herself while she watched the neighborhood kids scream in excitement as they took turns sliding down on a little red sled.

She was jealous of them and the friendships they had. The kind that would most likely last their whole lives. Meanwhile she was new in town and too shy to go ask if she could play with them. What was the point anyway? They would leave again soon for some other town and she would have to start all over. Again.

So she sighed and kept to herself, making a little family of small snowmares that would probably be gone by morning. The screams of joy stopped for a moment and Xinyi looked up as a shadow was cast over her snow figures. Oh no, please don't knock them over...

"Hi," they said. "Do you wanna play with us?" The freshling had a smile on their face, and offered her a hand up as they told her their name. "What's yours?"

"Xinyi," she said as she stood up and smiled back. "Yeah, I wanna play."
