(First die is Predator: 1-10. Predator Found in this rp, 11- 20. Safe Second is prey) Dead. Her eyes were dead as the children pressed their faces to the cage. This was her life? She was to sit here... grow fat in a tiny cage barely big enough to run. She had been bought and sold, pulled from the wilds of Africa as a tiny kitten, and then she had been passed from facility to facility. This last one had bred her, and ripped her kittens from her before she had a chance to even clean them off. She hissed at the thought and pushed herself up. They had put her in with another Serval and she assumed they were planning the same. Well it wouldnt happen again... it was almost feeding time... and she was going to leave...
She listened to the twoleg kits squeal in excitement as the keeper brought out their food. She barked, a very dog like meow, for show and moved to the door, waiting, As soon as it was opened, a flash of gold and black and she was loose. She Ran. One of the faster land animals she laughed as the keepers chased her, dodged the ones that thought to block her. She ran into the street only to freeze as a giant monster chased her she moved just in time to not be hit and she headed for the woody area behind some houses. Once there she perked her large ears listening, waiting for the twolegs as they crashed through the undergrowth. Missing her as she lay hidden under a thorn bush. She waited. Once the small woody patch was quiet she wiggled out and turned her attention to her freedom. She was free! Finally! She jumped and bounced around, looking like a silly kit, only... really really big. Her bouncing though moved prey and all her instincts kicked in. With a small chirping she fell into a hunter crouch and then with a mighty spring up and over she landed an unpracticed but instinctual catch. She came up holding her squirrel. She dropped it. God... it felt good to be outside....

Dispite his resentment of kittypets and his hatred of two-legs, Thomas kept close to the line of trees behind the two-leg place. The hunting was good here, and that was reason enough for him. So, he pushed his pride aside and kept to where he was most likely to survive. After all, it would be leaf-fall soon. The bulky tom padded about the underbrush, thick muscles rippling under his ginger coat as he stalked a mouse. His small tail pulled back and his ears perked forward, he was just about to make his move when suddenly something huge came crashing through the underbrush. His mouse bolted and he lunged, killing the creature in one swift blow. Quickly, he grabbed his prey and bolted under a thorny bush, trying to see who had interrupted his hunting. His yellow-green eyes narrowed as he saw flashes of spots and paws. He edged forward and those eyes widened. Before him stood the biggest she-cat he had ever seen! From beneath his bush, he watched her prance about like a kitten. His whiskers twitched in amusement. But then, her playfulness dissipated as her long, sleek body slide effortlessly into a hunter's crouch. He felt his fur rise, this was his hunting spot! Thomas watched as she defeated a squirrel with ease and forced himself to flatted his pelt. She was clearly stronger than himself, that was clear. And so, he wiggled his way out from beneath the bush, carrying his mouse with him. He set it down and mrowled in greeting, keeping a good distance between them, "Nice catch, there." Out here in the open, he could see her true size. He had never seen anything like her before!

Zoey looked up when the tom approached and she held her squirrel, her neck fur bristling just slightly before he spoke. But at his friendly words she set it down and gave a friendly nod. "Looks as if you caught something tasty too."
She looked around relishing the freedom she had. Even if she knew it would be short lived, the twolegs would be back for her sometime, traipsing through the woods to try and find her and put her back into the cage she had just escaped. She flicked her long tail and looked over the small cat. "So... what are you? You are too Small to be a Serval!" She took a bite of her squirrel, mmm it was heaven! How had she been living on frozen chunks of meat her entire life.
"Unless you are a kitten? Are you a kitten?" She pondered the tom, but her nose told her enough that this was no kitten. But she had never seen a cat before... one that was not like her... She happily took another bite of her squirrel.

As the two cats meet, one of the neighborhood ladies spies them in their chat. She stares at the pair for a moment, then calls out to them.
"Hey! You two stay away from my birds! These rats and squirrels are fine, but don't you touch my sweeties!"

Thomas felt his fur fluff up and he stared at the she-cat indignantly, "Kitten! No way, I'm a full-grown tom!" Defensive as he was, he found himself laughing at her comment. He flicked his ears in amusement, "Serval? Is that what you are? And here I thought you were a lion without its mane." He chided, his tail waving behind him, his kill mostly forgotten. She was so interesting! Her wild look brought to mind stories from his mother of huge wild cats with thick manes and enormous fangs. His reminiscing was rudely interrupted however by the squawking of an annoying two-leg. He arched his back and felt a growl building up in his throat. "Stupid Two-leg! Go back to your nest!" His eyes flicked to the giant she-cat, "We better go, they can get pretty nasty."

She flicked an oversized ear at his show of bravado. She watched him a moment before nodding. "At least thats what the keepers call us...." She gave a delicate shrug and went back to take a bite but smirked. "Flattery will get you everywhere with me good sir!" She had heard about the lions and their magnificent manes.
Zoey pinned her ears back and crouched back into a bush as she heard steps of a keeper coming. But it yelled and kept on. She peeked up and watched as the tom stood up to them! Was he protecting her?! How gallant! She gave a nod and she finished off her squirrel in a bite.
"Im Zoey, by the way.... " She turned and started walking the exact opposite way from where the zoo was. She wasnt going back... Not yet!

The bob-tailed tom didn't relax until the thick-pawed two-leg stomped off. He shook out his fur and quickly finished off his mouse. "Zoey, huh? Never heard a name like that before." He kicked some debris over the remains before trotting off after her. She was mesmerizing. Her long legs made him have to walk quite quickly to keep up with her pace, "My name is Thomas. I live around here. If you'd like..." He grinned up at her, "I could show you around."

She followed suit and licked down a tuft of fur that was sticking up. "Ah well... its from the Twolegs.... But ive not got anything to go by but that." She pricked her ears interested. "You do.... Thomas... ?" She tried out his name on her tongue. She hadnt heard a name like that either. But to be fair... she hadnt heard a lot of names. "I would love that.... Im trying to get as far from humans as i can...I never want to go back to that cage!" She shivered and slowed her pace a bit so that he could catch up and lead the way. "Is there anywhere like that Thomas? Where the Twolegs just... dont go?"

Thomas thought for a good minute, "A place where Two-legs don't go..." He'd explored a good bit of the surrounding area, but all around here there were traces of the monsters. Strange leaves of unnatural colors that didn't rot, fat kittypets thinking they were brave enough to explore the wild, two-leg kits building nests of sticks and branches. Unless... "Well, there is a river, it's pretty far ahead, but if we crossed it... I have a feeling you'd be safest there."caffeinecraving Thomas doesn't know about the clans just yet.
