Quote: Your character(s) discovers the remains of a wall with a single window in the woods. What they see when they look through the window shocks them. Ok so maybe going out to play in the woods wasn't super smart. It hadn't been super easy, slipping away from the student teacher that was directing the field trip. Life at the Academy was nice--well, it was all she knew...--but already Bridget was starting to feel the urge to explore and this trip? Perfect for that!
She'd skurried into the woods fast as her little legs could carry her, ears twitching and tail flicking this way and that in her excitement as she vanished into the brush. Climbing trees around the Academy's grounds was already a fun past time for her, but these were even bigger and cooler, and there was stuff out here!
"So cool," she gleed, marveling at the massive trunks that towered above her. Sunlight dappled the floor littered with leaves that crunched beneath her feet. Here and there, bunches of rocks jutted from the ground, piled haphazardly atop one another. Or... kinda? She squinted at them as she began to follow the lines they wove. Broken stone walls began to emerge, some more in tact than others as she continued on. Like... an pathway? Again she let out a squeal of delight. "Just like in the stories!" Would a gingerbread house wait somewhere along the path? Or a castle? Ooo~!

Jamie had been playing around near the wooded area on their field trip. They looked at all the trees, thinking about how neat they were, but how scary they must be the further and deeper you go into it. Out of the corner of their eye, the hallowed hybrid saw one of their classmates lingering at the edge of the woods like them. Maybe they were thinking the same thing? While mulling over their thoughts, they saw the freshling disappear into the wood. Jamie panicked. What if they get lost? Without thinking, they followed right behind, calling out their name quietly. "B-Bridget?" That was their name right? "I don't think you should go in too deep..." Jamie tried to get their attention as they hurried to catch up. The hallowed hybrid did have to admit that they were curious about the wonders the lurked in these woods. Where there ghosts? Vicious monsters? Treasurers?

The small bakeneko began to twitch her ears, swiveling them around this way and that as she listened to the quiet sounds of the woods. Birds singing here and there, crunch of fallen leaves beneath her paws, faint breeze now and then rustling the trees... it was so pretty. Immediately Bridget wished she had, like, a camera or something. Just... just something to capture all this.
Her ears flicked back and held still as they focused on a particular sound, and she turned back to stare in a bit of bewilderment to hear her name being called. The voice wasn't an adult's though, and she lingered where she was, tail twitching and flicking behind her as she spotted the other hallowed student from the class trip. She continued to move onward, though slowed as she fumbled slightly here and there to walk backwards. A hand lifted and she waved towards the other. "It'll be an adventure! You wanna come, Jamie? Just a quick one, then we can go back?" The thought of going on an adventure with someone else made her grin grow, and she paused her backwards walking to hop up and down where she was. One of her arms gestured towards the broken bits of stone walls that lined what she was pretty sure was a path.
"Let's go see where this leads! Then we can follow it back and boom, right back where we started!"

Jamie looked around nervously, both pairs of wings pressed close to them as they thought over the offer. Their big green eyes wondered around the forest curiously before they came to a decision. They sucked in a quick breath of air to steady themselves. "Ok..." They walked closer to Bridget. "But not too long! I don't want to get lost or the teacher to worry..."It didn't seem like it would be too bad to wander off. At least they weren't exploring the forest alone. Bridget seemed confident so they had to also do their best, take some risks. The gentle bird songs calmed them. "Lead the way, Bridget!"

She waited, of course, eyes big and smile big, hoping to encourage the answer she hoped for from her classmate. Because adventures alone were awesome and great, sure, but with someone else? Well, that's how all the best adventures went in the stories.
Thus she began to bounce around again when Jamie accepted, nodding her head wildly as they set a condition to their excursion. "Deal! We'll make it quick, won't get lost, and be back before the teacher notices!" Ok so... Bridget knew she couldn't promise all of that, but. In her mind, she could--what with the path so clear to her, how could they get lost? And so long as they didn't walk out too far, they could hurry back. All worked perfectly, right?
"Let's go!" Bolstered by the permission to continue on--with a friend!--Bridget immediately turned tail again and walked normally, rather than risk tripping by walking backwards. She set a brisk pace, but frequently looked towards Jamie to make sure the other was ok with it, otherwise adjust her strides as needed. "It's super pretty out, isn't it? What's your favorite season?"
What better time to get to know Jamie? It helped to make time pass, as it was, even as Bridget began to notice ruined shapes appearing here and there on either side of the broken stonewall path. Old buildings? Their frequency increased the further they went, along with their sizes and shapes, single room buildings turning into multi-room ones. An old town?

Jamie was making sure to focus on the path. The sight and sounds of the woods were a bit spooky. Their head wing pressed close against them self as they forged on. The hallowed hybrid scooted closer to the other for a bit of comfort. Jamie appreciated that Bridget was trying to keep the mood light and not as scary as they were feeling. "M-my favorite season is spring. I like when all the flowers bloom and they smell really nice!" The terrain changed, their surroundings seemed different. Were these old buildings? Where had they wondered off to? They weren't trying to get too antsy, instead asking a question of their own. "What about you? And do you have any favorite food?"
