MorganeLeFaye Raven moonwalker I've also started studying to be a website designer, and a computer graphics artist. Graphics mostly, because my job oppertunities are limitless. And it's the closest thing you can get to art in the modern world. I would like someone to tell me, where, in all of those careers, do I need a Degree? Lol, you answered your own question before you even asked it. Colleges teach computer graphics and web design. No one will hire your for those jobs without a college degree. sweatdrop Actually... they will. There's ten places in the newspaper right now asking for computer graphics artists, and all they're asking for is you to have knowledge of a few different image editing programs. Maybe it's different in other states and countries though... I wouldn't know. Besides, if I learn it, my brother has an unlimited clientele for me. My brother has always been proof for me that you don't need a degree to make a great and comfortable living. He's never even taken a GED and he makes a 100k a year.... I suppose his life inspires me biggrin

I care a lot about my grades, and I've actually gotten 4.0 on my last two report cards. I love learning new things, whether its languages, science, history or anything. The only thing I don't really enjoy is math, but I'm still good at it. And what is the NHS? I'm Canadian, so I don't know. sweatdrop

NHS is National Honors Society. It is a club for the people who have good grades. They do community service and they also do things to help the school. Also you get a little collar when you graduate if you are in NHS. It is more of a status symbol than anything.

Well I guess its more for my parents to be proud of me and also for me to be proud of myself. Also for my family to be proud. My older sister got in it so I felt that I had to be in it too. I still also want to be in it since for the community service, my sister got to go to the animal shelter and pet the kitties. It is far away from us so she had an excuse, but I never got to do that.

I should have between a 3.3 and a 3.5 by the end of this semester...It actually matters a LOT to me because I'm trying to get into nursing school, which has gotten very competitive in the last several years due to lack of funding.
So basically, for nursing, a 3.5 is kind of sucky. A lot of schools want a 3.8 or better, even though that includes, chemistry, microbiology, math, anatomy and physiology. Some schools demand a 3.0 average for the science classes.
But yeah....nursing is what I want to do. So it's only a matter of time before I'll get in somewhere (some schools have waitlists, some lotteries).
Uh...yeah. I ramble. sweatdrop

That sounds very difficult. I would have to work hard to be a nurse. I bet you will do well since your dream is very strong ^^
