The day had come. Ashley made sure to get up extra earlier, careful not to wake Rose. She planned to play to cool. Attempt to make a breakfast, act as if they would just have a quiet day at home when really she had planned a party. She had hired a couple of her botany major friends to turn an empty field into a bountiful rose garden worthy of a queen. Thats where she would take the birthday girl later, but she would need to stall until everything got set up. Their backyard rose garden was small and quaint. It was just a few rose bushes, a bench, and enough room for a picnic blanket. Rose talked about wanting to do more but just not having the time. Ashley figured that made for a good a theme as any for a party. A birthday tea party in a rose garden, like they would have at home.. but with more people. She had gotten a hold of Rose's contact list and invite all of her coven sisters. She didn't really know them but they were more than happy to attend. A few of Ashley's friends would also be coming, along with one or two mutuals. In the end it would be a handful of people, nothing to big and nothing too fancy. The last thing she wanted to do was recreate the parties of their childhood.
Ashley was very new to cooking for herself. When she didn't eat out, someone would always cook food for her; be that her lovely girlfriend or her parents. Surprisingly enough even though her family was very wealthy they never hired butlers or cooks. She supposed that was a blessing since so many elite's children were basically raised by the staff. Her parents made sure family always came before the company. They did however have a maid just for cleaning. Making time for family and for dinner meant there wasn't much time to do the chores. One thing money couldn't buy Ashley were those living on your own life skills you learn when you aren't born with a silver spoon in your mouth. So here Ashley stood, in the kitchen, starring at her crystal tablet. She was going to make an omelet and some french toast. Or, at least she was going to try. She had pulled out all the required ingredients and both pans were ready on the stove. There was still an hour before Rose's alarm would go off, so if she could pull this off and stay quiet, she could surprise her with breakfast in bed. Ashley crossed her fingers and pressed play on the step by step tutorial.
