Walking paw in paw with his Princess, there was a smile he simply couldn't smother on his muzzle. Though he best be careful lest she pick up on his territorial thoughts. This night he had a plan though. Seeing as she'd still yet to let him kiss her, as she was properly playing hard to get, he was determined that tonight would be the night. Together they wandered the festival as candy crazed freshlings dashed hither and to, and parents tried to keep an eye or more on their erstwhile children. Finally they came to the far end of the grounds- the ones that butted up against the supposedly haunted forest. Which was exactly where he wanted to be. What better place to go to get some good alone time, and if he was lucky there might be a bat or spider to scare Princess Alix into his arms. " Hey Princess, what do you think-" he gestured to the woods " They're supposed to be haunted.......but thats freshling talk now isn't it?" His grin widened. "Do you dare come into the shadows with this wolf?" He chuckled as he tugged her paw gently, beckoning her to follow him into the dark of the woods.

Alix had made it a point to look irresistible. You know, the kind of irresistible that made heads turn, eyes widen and possibly make jaws drop. It was a costume, of course, but a costume that had not only been expensive, but carefully hand-made in the months before the holiday. A witch costume, with a plunging neckline semi-corset, with a skirt that was barely long enough in the front, and reached down to her ankles in the back. Glittering jewels and strands of silver accented where the eyeline should go, and even her pointed and somewhat flopped witches' hat shimmered with the chosen fabric.
The festival itself was...dull. When she was younger, it was the best time of her life! But, now, she could only really think about how the night would end. Heck, it would be the perfect night for something surprising to happen.
As the approached the treeline, Alix could feel the fur on the back of her neck and along her arms bristle. Drystan's question did cause a bit of a shiver to crawl down her spine, but she chalked that up to the slight fear she had of dark forests.
"Why, Drys, are you challenging me?" she batted her eyelashes at him, giving him a mischievous little grin. "I would have thought you'd know better, by now~"

Backing into the woods slowly Dryst had eyes only for Alix- he had wanted to get her away from all the noise and bustle of the fair. He could tell that it was not exactly what she wanted either. Clearly, especially from the way she had dressed tonight. His eyes kept wandering over to her, checking her out, drinking her in. It didn't matter what view- front side, back side, side side- the neko had all the curves in all the right places. The brim of her witch's hat lent a shadow to her face, making her seem darker, more mysterious, and alluring as hell.
When she batted her lashes and grinned- he fought the urge not to growl and simply kiss her then and there. He'd been patient with this one, there was most certainly something special about her. He hadn't really realized it but he'd stopped looking for anyone else, his Princess Alix was, well the princess he'd been looking for as a young grimm- and now he'd found her. And if he played his cards right he might get to keep her.
All that flashed through his mind after she spoke, and the tone clearly stated "challenge accepted". He loved that about her, she was a girl who could match him wit for wit, dare by dare, step by step- and boy was he getting lost in his head, damn philosophy major- He still hadn't told her that part.
"Maybe, I know just enough?" he querried. Continuing to lure her gently into the wood, sounds fading behind as the dark trees folded in around them. Once safely in the woods Drystan gently took Alix's paw and tucked it into the crook of his arm, so he was escorting her- as he was want to do. "But tonight is Haunted Hallows- a night when anything can happen...." he trailed off as he padded light forward while meanwhile his thoughts raced ahead. He had intentionally left all light sources behind at the fair- and was giving their night vision time to fully kick in.
He twitched slightly as an odd sensation ran through him, and he took a quick look around, protectively tucking Alix closer to him.

"Anything, you say? Well. Certainly something I hope for, at least." Her smile was hidden as she tilted her head, the brim of her head hiding her from her dearly beloved....
Dearly beloved. An odd phrase, an odd thought that passed her mind whenever she even had the slightest thought directed towards Drys. By the Nine, it had even managed to be a distraction in her classes lately, allowing her to slip into a daydream and make herself look a fool with a dopey grin upon her face. But it mad for nice times when she was alone with only her thoughts. Made for wonderful dreams, and the absolute best times? Was when she was actually with him. Hand in hand, and she even figured she would get a chance to allow him a kiss at some point.
But as they walked, Alix couldn't help but feel...Uneasy. A chill ran down her spine.
"...Do...Do you feel that, love?" She asked, pressing herself closer to his side.

His thoughts were split between several things at the moment, and something was not right. They had progressed deeper into the “haunted” woods….but his quick look around yielded nothing. He was begining to regret his words when Alix spoke, and hearing that she too hoped for something to happen stirred his blood again. taking his mind off onto what had become his favorite thing to think about- his Princess. While his thought wandered a bit, his eyes did too- they kept straying towards his companion and the lovely picture she made. But something kept pulling at his attention with even more allure than his Mate could. As the thought crossed his mind, he was so distracted by the woods he didn’t realize that he had let himself refer to her as his mate- something he had been using an iron clad fist against even in his mind. But just then he felt the chill go through Alix as she sought protection against him. But it meant she felt it too. This was starting to get out of control. And anything that jeapordized his princess- was not ok. Still walking deeper into the woods, clearly on autopilot he slipped his hand into the pocket of his jeans, grabbed and pulled out his phone. He flipped it around and hit the screen, and the phone flashed…..just long enough to show the red indicator that the battery was dead, and then it went dark. “Bloody cursed by the nine” he swore with heartfelt intent, “ My phone is dead!” A growl rose to his throat as he held tightly to his Princess. “My dear, I felt that shiver, and yes its not just you, I feel something too. I don’t know what is going to happen- for I fear something may well might if my intution is on point. Stay by my side and I’ll protect you.” He stopped their walking, it seemed to take more force of will than it should, and he turned a slow circle keeping Alix behind him as he did so. He used the full range of his senses, scent, sight, intution and hearing, searching for what they were unconsiously picking up on.

Something has happened.... One of the two would see something out of the corner of their eye. If they were to turn and look, they would see a large mass shuffling off and deeper into the forest.
Bummer about that phone.

Any other time, just being able to feel Drys by her side would make for a wonderful distraction. It would fill her head with dreams and ideas and all those things a lady should never think about.
Right now, however, she felt nothing but the cold fingers of fear grip her heart. With her fur standing on end, she was sure she would have to take hours to get the silken sheen back. As it were, she wasn't at all worried about that, as she was about the fact that Drys' phone had died. So secure was she with him anymore, she'd made the decision to leave hers back at home, and it made for a very stressful realization.
"...Dead? Wait! I think I have a crystal energy bank in here somewhere..." Quickly, she reached into her little purse and started to search. It was festive, perfect for the season. Pumpkin-shaped, orange, and decorated with gemstones. It was big enough to hold a novel and a notebook, along with a few pens, but it didn't seem to be carrying an energy bank device.
"Ah...Oh no...I think I took it out to charge it and forgot to put it back this morning..." Her ears flopped down as she looked up at Drys apologetically.
