Favorite person on the face of the planet!!
Has basically been in love with her since the day they met, but doesn't realize it until the summer before fourth year. Spends several months just trying to sort out his feelings and going in circles with her until one of them finally caves and confesses. Drives Rhea bonkers.
His worst fear is any harm ever coming to her. He can't handle the thought and any situation that could pose danger to her makes him erratic.
Struggles to come up with a nickname for her at first. One day when he's in the music room with her he hears her sing and decides it's one of the prettiest things he's ever heard. It reminds him of a bird, and he decides to call her his nightingale.
Other nicknames when they inevitably date include: Angel, Dearest, Beautiful, Gorgeous, Sunshine
Vespera
Jonah had a brief crush on Ves first year, he thought she was so strange the way she would greet her classmates and such that he decided he had to get to know her. He was thrilled when he got to introduce himself to her at The Daily Dragon.
He gave her the nickname Starlight because thought she was as pretty as the evening star she was named after.
Their relationship consists of a lot of teasing and bickering and picture-taking. Jonah ends up associating his friendship with Ves as more of a sibling bond, but way more fun.
Can get sassy enough with her that outsiders may see it as him being mean, but if he upset her he'd beg her forgiveness. He loves her too much to see her upset.
Ideally, Jonah and Ves become co-editors of The Daily Dragon. If just one of them, the other takes the role of the Shadow Editor. They form a good cop/bad cop duo. Ves threatens everyone with quill pokes, Jonah relies on more positive forms of motivation but is happy to warn younger students that Ves is completely serious. Actually gets a kick out of their scared faces.
August
Really really wants to get along with August at first. Figures "Hey, Sonora is like the greatest person ever, so her cousin should be pretty great by default, right?", is sorely mistaken. It takes him a while to figure out exactly what he did to get on August's bad side--he won't have any idea until someone confronts him directly about it. He tries to be as polite as he can.
By the time he's in fourth year, August is straight up aggravating to him. He decides to encourage Rhea pestering him since it seems to drive him crazy. Rhea will get bored soon enough, anyway, right?
Plans
DADA
Doesn't handle Boggart day in DADA well, at all. He'd had a horrible nightmare about Sonora the night before and is visibly on edge. Thinks he can handle his worst fear regardless, although he isn't entirely sure what it is. The boggart shows him his Uncle Joseph, writhing in pain on the ground from the cruciatus curse. He's surprised, and the image tears at his stomach, but was his uncle in pain really his worst fear? He casts riddikulus no problem. He's startled to see the boggart change shape into his father in the same agonizing pain. Casts again, now it's his mother and he's feeling sick. He doesn't like it. This is wrong.
Riddikulus. Orion. Riddikulus. Rhea. He gets more and more distressed each cast, becoming desperate to make it stop, and he's eventually faced with Alex, Vespera, and lastly: Sonora. The image of Sonora in such pain chills him to the bone, and he can't keep his focus to remember that she's right behind him in the room. He hesitates, so the boggart decides to stop the cruciatus curse act and acts as a corpse. Jonah can't handle it. He shouts out a curse, tosses his wand off to the side, and storms out of the class, grade be damned. He wouldn't let the whole class see him cry.
Summer Year Three AKA The Werewolf Attack
It's Jonah's idea to cut through the woods on the full moon. Rion teased about it, but whoever heard of a wolf attack in Rye? He and Rion did this all the time. It should be fine.
Werewolf comes out of no where and mauls Rion. Jonah is quick to cast flippendo and get between Sonora and the wolf. Knocking the wolf off Rion so forcefully makes the damage that much worse.
Jonah's knocked down by the wolf and scratched. Earns a lovely set of scars from his shoulder to his elbow on the left arm. He doesn't give himself time to feel the pain, as the second the wolf decides to leap for Sonora he manages to grab his wand and casts the cruciatus curse to protect her. Manages to scare the wolf off.
He completely blames himself for everything that happened in the woods that night. Rion's a werewolf, Jonah has lycanthropy, and Sona's hands may have been injured. It's all his fault, and he never lets himself forget it.

[Rhea] Headcannons August
Probably meets August for the first time at age 7. She'll be with Jonah at Diagon Alley, and Jonah will probably meet with Sona and Auggie. She has not hit her boy crazy phase yet and regards him politely, if a bit excitable. It's just her nature.
When meets Auggie again before she starts her first year, she decides he's really quite cute, and he's going to be her new boyfriend. This girl is unreasonably stubborn about it. Flirts constantly and does not bother to hide her crush in the least. Thrilled when Lizzie tells her Auggie's turning away people saying she's his girlfriend.
Takes the first opportunity to earn some required time together with Auggie by training to be his successor for quidditch announcing. Likes to tease him, but encourages him to up the excitement for the audience when possible.
Crush starts off superficial, but the more she gets to know him the more she genuinely begins to fall for him.
Tries to be the middle-man between August and Jonah's ridiculous bickering.
If Auggie ends up pushing her away at some point, she will be heartbroken and avoid him at all costs... Except in her feline form. At least as a cat she can be by his side.
Maybe teaches August to swim??
Orion
When alone, Rion and Rhea are just loud. Together? It's a party! They both love driving Jonah insane with loud music and impromptu karaoke matches.
They will absolutely never, ever, under any circumstance, share a pizza. It's never enough and they always argue over the last slice until it's a full on wrestling brawl. Rion nearly broke a leg the last time it happened.
Rion is the first to know about her animagus training, as she sends him a letter the day she starts prepping the potion. During the summers, Rhea keeps him company and distracted by switching to her animagus form during his werewolf transformations.
Jonah
Loves to play pranks on her brother. Has Circe bring him a howler first thing in the morning every so often to wake him up for class. Jonah always hunts her down in the Great Hall and gives her an ear full, while Rhea always insists that she's not the one doing it despite the fact that the horrible accents are clearly her voice.
Gets super annoyed by Jonah's protective behavior, thinking that he's treating her like a baby. Despite this, she's just as protective over him.
Jonah thinks it's hilarious to gross Rhea out by eating raw meat in front of her(Post Summer of '45).
Sometimes you might catch them cuddled together under a tree reading the same book, or Jonah reading aloud to her. Usually it's some sort of fairy tale.
Even though she's younger, Jonah often goes to her for advice, especially involving Sonora. Rhea, in turn, attempts to listen to his lectures. Sometimes.
Would absolutely join him on any adventures to find and study magical creatures. The second she learned there were mermaids in the lake she demanded he find one and show her.
Sonora
Absolutely adores her and wants Jonah to marry her, STAT.
Maybe bond over music somehow???
May ask Sonora to teach her Mandarin
Lizzie
Thanks to Auggie, Lizzie ends up basically being her "Mentor".
They end up having a very sisterly relationship and Rhea determines this is how her relationship with Rion would be if he was a female, and in Hogwarts.
One of them will sometimes burst into song out of no where, and the other will almost always join in, unless they don't know the song, in which case a butchered rendition is created.
Tells Lizzie about animagus training, Lizzie promises not to tell August so long as Rhea performs feline favors occasionally.
Brook
Hopefully BFF's?? <3
Will probably get to know each other pre-hogwarts, if they don't end up in the same house Rhea will be upset.
Helps her get over her fear of cats?
Rhea would be the bad influence friend that drags Brook into mischief and adventures.
Vespera
Loves her mischievous nature and tries to join in on her antics when allowed.
Might follow her back to Slytherin as a cat. Sneaky cat with a sneaky assumed-owner sounds like a good cover. Plus, maybe she'd get to sneak in and see mermaids in the window???
Plans Quidditch Announcer after August graduates?
May become a professor at Hogwarts in the future after she graduates. Apparition? Wandlore Studies?
Going to train to become an animagus. Form of a calico cat. She will of course have to register, but if she can help it, the only people she will allow to know her secret will be Brook, Lizzie, Rion, Jonah, and Sonora for as long as possible. If she's to sneak around, she can't have people knowing her feline identity. Jonah names her cat form Pepper--He attempted to name her Fig, but then she hissed at him. Random Facts She's been doing gymnastics since age 3. Her uncle Joseph was usually the one to take her since her parents were busy. She's able to cartwheel down a hill no problem, much to Lizzie's excitement. Wanted to be a cheerleader, but Hogwarts doesn't have a squad.
Her favorite food is Junk Food. But if she had to pick one thing specifically, she'd have to say pizza.
She knows the lyrics to every Disney song. Ever. That said, like Jonah, she has a decent singing voice but she usually prefers to sing off-key for fun. That much better when she can stun people with her vocals when she's actually trying.
Doesn't particularly like that she's a witch. She feels like her magic is the reason her parents got a divorce. Can't control it especially well due to her insecurities.
