Turning her head, Tisha swivled her ears as her son spoke up, her face becoming serious as her eyes shined with warmth. Looking back to make sure Hasidi was asleep, she moved and padded to where Tafari was sitting, joining his side with a warm smile.
"I know." She whispered to him, the smile still there though her eyes looked tired, "I worked to raise you, and already you are showing me you can live by yourself. You are everything I hoped you be. Yet...when I look at Hasidi..." She trailed off, glancing back towards the sleeping cub in a moment of content silence.
"He has nothing...no family to live with...he was just like me...alone and scared with no real chance to survive, let alone live a meaningful life." She had heard her heart call to the crying cub, and she wanted to help him have a shot, just like she did when she was young.

A sigh escaped the young male's maw as he tried to subtly sit up a little straighter and hopefully look more dignified at his mother's words. He was everything she hoped he'd be? Tafari fought to keep his features serious and reassuring. He couldn't help but grin inwardly at himself. What a nice thing for her to say.
"He has a family now," he said, puffing out his chest a little to make himself look, hopefully, more adult-like. Although, in his case, he probably just made it look really awkward from trying too hard. "You don't have to worry about him being alone or scared anymore, because we'll be with him. And I'll make sure he'll survive and live a meaningful life, so you can stop worrying, mother," he said, feeling the heat rise in his face as he spoke. The grey male glanced awkwardly off to the side. So he really was going to take up the role as big brother and babysitter? Great... Just what was he getting himself into?

Tisha found the words ringing true as Tafari spoke up, their relationship clearly deeper than what she thought. As a young mother, she always feared the worst of what her son would thing as she grew. Yet here he was, getting closer to being an adult just like herself, and they were not only family, but they were close as friends too. He loved her just as much as she loved him, and that made her purr lightly in joy.
Moving closer to him, she slowly nuzzled him with her cheek, eyes closed lightly as it was a sign of thanks. Pulling away, she just shook her head and smiled lightly.
"Tafari, when did you become such an adult?" It was a teasing comment, something she always shared with her son. She could always tease him about things, though it was gentle enough that she hoped he didnt take it too much to heart, "You remind me of...your father..." The words trailed off as she looked suddenly away. Not once before had she been the one to bring up his missing father.

Tafari couldn't help but grin a little at his mother's question, taking a deep breath to puff out his chest more. Of course he was an adult! Who else would so calmly be able to put up with those darned birds that insisted on nesting right outside the den?
His grin faded though when he heard Tisha trail off at the mention of his father. He never really understood the whole situation surrounding his mother and his father, but what he did know is that Tisha had to raise him all by herself, and he wasn't about to let her get upset of something in the past. "Mother," he started, "You don't have to worry, okay? I'm here now." He didn't want her having to talk about something she didn't want to talk about.
He watched her awkwardly for a bit before standing and taking the steps to move around in front of her. "Are you okay? Maybe you should rest," he mumbled, nuzzling against her shoulder. If that cub suddenly woke up... Well... Tafari would probably die of embarrassment. He wasn't one to openly show affection. Meh, he'd take the chance.

Tisha just smiled to him again as he said the same words he always would. She would fade off at the mention of Runako, and Tafari would come up and say that there was no need to think of the lion, as long as her son was there. But what Tafari had no clue about was Tisha had caught sight of Runako right before she found Hasidi, as if the long lost lion had brought another life into her paws. Yet, what Tafari didn't know, couldn't hurt him.
When she felt him nuzzle her, she just nodded slowly, and let out a purr.
"We should both rest." The comment was worn, just showing how much effort she had put into the hunt. She had no idea why she was so tired today, but hopefully her energy would return before the next hunt. It was her duty to keep her family fed, and with another cub, she would have to work harder. Maybe later, she could ask Ari for a nanny possition, for she never was too keen on hunts. Tafari seemed to have gotten all of her luck now a days.

Tafari looked wearily up at his mother. She was exhausted and he knew it. "Yes," he nodded, nudging her towards her bed with Hasidi already curled up on it, "We should rest." Although, there was no hope for him if those darned birds didn't decide to rest also... But that didn't matter right then.
Okay, so she would finally rest, and he'd rest as well... er... more or less... Whatever would made his mother happy, he'd do. Such a momma's boy.

Padding over to where Hasidi was, Tisha moved to curl up to the small cub, her paw moving around his form to protect him from any harm. It reminded her of the days with Tafari, back when everything was about protecting him. This time, she wouldn't be alone, because Tafair would help as well, even if he complained about it too.
"Rest up, Tafari, because tomorrow we have a lot to explain to our new family member." With that, she closed her bi-colored eyes, let out a relaxed sigh, and gently drifted off to sleep.
